I have noticed that sometimes I can squat heavier if I have done some heavier unracks first. Maybe by lifting a heavier weight partially first, it primed his nervous system to be able to complete the lighter weight a little bit easier. May actually have helped him. If he really fully attempted the heavier weight though, it may have wiped him out for the corrected attempt

He’s a freakin beast for still getting the WR, but man this is infuriating to watch. Athletes deserve SO much better than this. He literally asks before approaching if they loaded the weight correctly, is assured they did, then shoulders it, tells them it’s not right, and when they still don’t check, he shoulders it again and attempts to press a dumbbell that’s 25lbs too heavy and LOPSIDED. How outraged would we be if he didn’t hit the weight? Or if he hurt himself trying to press the lopsided CDB? Athletes strictly regiment their diet and training to be ready to put in great performances, and they do so for very little money if ANY at all, and often what they do make (if anything) doesn’t cover the cost of training, travel, and lodging… they deserve the same level of dedication from the people running contests. That means, for their safety, the equipment needs to be TRIPLE CHECKED every single time. Inexcusable. And I’ll give credit where it’s due. It’s apparent from Anthony’s reaction that he shares my opinion on this and is rightfully MORTIFIED that this happened. Still doesn’t excuse the fact that it happened.

I promise we all share this sentiment my friend! No excuse for it happening, but I can assure we put the most care into our athletes. Believe me steps have been taken to make it very unlikely that this will happen again!

@@anthonyfuhrman8124 I don’t doubt that you care about the athletes and I’m glad that steps are being taken to avoid this. I just sense as a fan and small-time competitor myself that there’s a general disregard for safety in this sport as a whole in favor of a “deal with it, you’re a strongman” type of attitude, and I felt this was a good opportunity to express it. I no don’t mean to single out Clash as I feel it very generally in the sport. The fact that you’re taking steps to prevent this instead of the “lol whoops, but this is Strongman, that happens” attitude I’ve seen at a LOT of other shows says a lot about your character and commitment to the sport.

Probably the best ever if you count his bodyweight. Thats 24,5 kg over his bodyweight. If you can do your own bodyweight you are very strong, but this is unreal. Well done

once I completed a whole 200lb+ bench press workout with an extra 10lb weight on the right side. I kept thinking my right side was messed up because it was lagging on every rep. Finally realized what happened when I put back the weights: one of the 25's was a 35 at the same thickness.
