The Heaviest Deadlifts in History

Спорт

Since Gerrit Badenhorst established the first bonafide strongman record in 1996, an astonishing 200lb has been added to the strongman world record in just 20 years.
New records have been set in both World's Strongest Man finals and Giants Live contests, including the World Deadlift Championships. This video shows them all - in chronological order.
Along with strongman superstars like Brian Shaw, Zydrunas Savickas and Eddie Hall, this video also features lifts from powerlifting legends Andy Bolton (the first man to pull 1000lbs) and Benedikt Magnusson. Both men competed at the Strongman Deadlift World Champs on numerous occasions in addition to their powerlifting exploits.
Also featured is Hafthor Bjornsson's 501kg lift, which was completed out of competition during the global lockdown.

If thor did honestly lift that weight we will see him lift 515kilo + in an official setting. Funny how in strongman competitions Thor was nowhere near the deadlifter Eddie was but in his home gym he pulls 501k with what seems like very little effort compared to Eddie's 500k. However even if he did truly pull 501k it was always have that important asterisk beside it read "out of competition". Apparently there's a bounty for 505k at this year's DL championship. @@jacobpinson2834 Thor retired and dropped a shit-ton of bodyweight, so we'll likely never see him attempt it in competition. I believe he did it legitimately. Look at Thor's physique and all-round strength! He was walking around looking fairly lean at 200kg because of his height -- there's very few strongmen/powerlifters who can do that. That being said, Eddie's deadlift was way more impressive in my eyes; not only was 500kg a massive jump from the previous records, but it was done under competition rules. If Eddie didn't tell everyone he was going to lift 500kg and follow through, I doubt anyone else would have got close by now as it seemed impossible.

This is what gave him his superior mobility.

Turns out I'm the only fan of both Hafthor and Eddie. Thor is the better all round strength athlete.. You wanna see him in real life, the giants like Thor, Brian and Tom have a huge genetic advantage.. Mass moves mass. Thor probably could have moved heavier but he didn't need to, he only wanted to beat Eddie. Personally I find Eddie's lift (and wsm win) more impressive as he had to work harder for it and he's also a natural showman so always fun to watch. Once all the filming stopped and thor could focus 100% on strength then he clearly smashed everything. Arnold's, wsm, the deadlift. Debatably the strongest of all time for a bit. Don't get me wrong, Eddie was too but his body just couldn't sustain it, had he have continued he would be dead by now. Thor could have safely kept going I believe but there's a lot of money in boxing I guess. Two legends who probably dislike each other a lot less than people think.
