Daniel Wu is in One Night in Mongkok, not David Wu. Highly recommend that one for fans of dark drama and crime thrillers.

Great movie. Non stop action from start to finish, with classic Richard Ng bringing us the comic relief. Excellent release from Eureka too.

Great review, got the 88 films version along with the Gorgeous 88 films release delivered THE SAME DAY today and I saw magnificent warriors for first time today and it was amazing, great review and going into detail about the additional stuff in the Eureka edition. Michelle Yeoh was amazing in this, the cast was very fresh and colorful

I loved the ensemble cast in Magnificent Warriors, it's such a great sense of comradierie and silliness. It adds so much to the movie for me to have a group of characters rather than just one or two leads, I love the dymanics and relationships. This movie was just pure entertainment from front to back. That's great you got Gorgeous on the same day! I have Gorgeous too, hoping to watch it soon and get a review up. It's been probably 20 years since I've seen that movie, and I've only ever seen the drastically cut international version, so I'm excited to watch the full HK cut.

Excellent review Will, what a phenomenal movie, I loved it, Michelle Yeoh is a force of nature. Love how the fight scenes are shot nice wide angles, I can't stand those modern shaky cam fast cut fights, you can see this style filmmaking in the John Wick films.

I agree, the post Bourne movie way of shooting action is just awful, you can't anything. It's so frustrating. Thanks for checking out the review, it was a pleasure to see this movie finally. It's so riduclously entertraining, it's basically the perfect silly fun action movie.

When I was a kid, my mum would often be at work on a Sunday and I'd be home with dad. He'd usually end up watching westerns in the afternoon and this film really reminded me of those Sunday afternoon movies but in my universe lol. Such a fun movie I really enjoyed this release Eureka are such an excellent label. Always a pleasure to see Richard urgh lol.

Classic Richard Urgh 🤣🤣🤣 Watching westerns with dad on a Sunday afternoon sounds like a great memory. I haven't seen too many westerns, truth be told, but I definitely got some western vibes from this film

I absolutely loved this film, its a great addition to the pantheon of awesome HK movies from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Truly wonderful classic soundtrack too. Great review Will!

Couldn't agree more! And yes, the music! So much fun. That theme that plays over and over is great.

Oh man, I LOVED this one, but I had to chuckle as my only criticism was Michelle just has this blistering grin on her face throughout the entire film, including whenever she's firing off a machine gun into a crowd, and THAT's the thumbnail for this review hahaha. Such a fun film, with some truly jaw-dropping action at times, but it was the core group of misfit heroes that really made me love it. My first time ever seeing Ricahrd Ng, too!

The cast of this movie is so great, it's such a joy to watch them ham it up in their solo scenes and play off each other in the group scenes. Richard Ng is the best! My favorite pure comedian of Hong Kong cinema. I just love that dude so much. Seeing his face cracks me up every time.

It's interesting you mentioned Easy Money because another channel I follow recently posted a video about it and how it's one of Michelle's lesser-known movies. I guess the title is even more appropriate now that I know what she went through with this movie.

Definitely one of her lesser known films. I've never seen that one, but I'm very curious to after going through all these classic HK 80s movies of hers. I'm gonna see if I can track it down. I think Shaz and Leon reviewed it recently, did they not? Or am I misremembering that?

Yes it was Shaz and Leon on Hong Kong & Beyond that covered this movie. It may be a hard one to find so hopefully you can grab a copy.

I picked up the 88 Films release of this but it looks like there is an additional extra or two on the Eureka, dammit! However, I do think the cover art on the 88 is superior.

The 88 artwork is great. The Eureka releases I think I have more bonus material. But either way you get the movies and that's the real draw.
