Love the retro 80s VHS cover! That was my first intro to Michelle Yeoh too. I might just wait for the Arrow boxset though. Great review!

Man, I loved this movie. I had a VHS casette with this one and Yes, Madam, both titled ULTRA FORCE. And the row was reversed, as Royal Warriors/Police Assasins was part 1 and Yes Madame was part 2. I was seeing it first time in 1989 or 1990 and immediately fall in love with genre and with Michelle Yeoh. Greetings from Poland

Thanks for the kind words! Talking about stunts; We shot the location video over a 2 day period (I got food poisoning half way through the first day). I then had to go shoot in Thailand, so went there indenting to come back and finish this location video. The day after I came back to Hong Kong I broke my upper arm skateboarding. If you look at the shots in College Road (car chase scene) my hand is in my pocket because I didn’t have my arm secured as I wanted to finish the video. It was 2 days after the break and I wasn’t supposed to move said arm so we just went with that. Shout out to Mike Chan who was operating camera too btw who literally also was there when I broke the arm!

Thanks for the review as always. Looking forward to seeing this one for the first time when the 88 US boxset is released later this year. If I can't wait I may try this release, but I'm not sure it would get here to the US unscathed. Royal Mail doesn't seem to be shipping internationally these days. (I think my copy of Iceman Cometh from 88 is lost in the mail somewhere ...)

You'd most likely need a multi region I'd say. That said, 88 Films will be releasing the series as a box set in the US soon!

Royal Mail still hasn't dispatched it, maybe Michelle should have a word with them with Hiroyuki Sanada. All partly joking aside, I look foward to seeing it again it was my second Michelle Yeoh HK flim outside of Heroic Trio that i enjoyed after seeing the trailer of it back in the day. It was the first time i saw Hiroyuki Sanada in anything i thought he was so bad ass but it was bonus to discover he was trained and acted with the late Sonny Chiba in flims abit later on. Also the only other HK flim i saw of Michael Wong outside of Legacy of Rage which i wasn't used to him being a good guy as i used to him playing villains. I kept expecting him to double cross both Michelle and Sanada's characters but........overall i enjoyed the movie but as i said the delays are annoying as hell to deal with but i know i have to deal with it. Hiroyuki Sanada was the best thing in Royale Warriors stealing every scene in the movie.
