    Joji has dark humor, but Filthy Frank is just a character. A lot of what Filthy Frank has said or done is things Joji doesn`t even agree with. Filthy Frank is an over-exaggerated character created to offend people. A few years back, when Joji got sick and had seizures from doing his characters, he posted a video of just him, George(his real name), explaining the situation. Sadly the audience at the time had no chill and Joji deleted that video. But Filthy Frank is not George/Joji. it`s all stupid and offensive jokes that take things too far. That`s the point. Some people find it hilarious, some don't, and some need to get used to it. I find it hilarious, and it`s okay that some don`t like it. Just don`t go thinking Filthy Frank is real.

    Filthy Frank was just a show, a Persona. It wasn’t him. Joji is him just being himself, because being Pink Guy and Filthy Frank was too straining for him. He struggled with depression and a seizure disorder, and that pushed him to quit KZread and pursue his music career.

  • @glandhound

    @glandhound

    George Miller is the real guy. Joji is just as much a character as Filthy Frank or Pink Guy. I'm not saying he's acting to be Joji, but it's his career as a musician, not his life as an actual person. When he is alone, he is going to act like George Miller. On stage as Joji, he's not going to act like George Miller. Same as how George Miller isn't like Filthy Frank or even Chin-Chin. Without getting too much into it, everyone has different 'roles' they put on depending on who they are with. You're not going to hang out with your mum as the same person you are with that special someone, which is a good thing. Performing artists, actors, 'famous people' or 'celebrities' have to have different boundaries to us 'regular folk'. So even if he started performing his music as George Miller, he'd still be a different George Miller on stage than with his mum or that special someone.

He looks more "foreign" when he's in the Filthy Frank persona/character, which he used to do back in his college days (late teens, early 20s, which explains why it came across as "teenage boy humor" to you -- because it basically was.) When he's his normal, natural Joji self he looks more Asian. Don't ask me how he pulls it off, lol. He's a good actor when he wants to be.

    Joji x filthy frank reminds me of one of my favourite american creatives: Donald Glover. I had known him as the sensitive, goofy and fun loving Troy Barnes in the tv series 'Community', but then he dropped his standup comedy special on youtube which was really funny, and then I found out that he used to be a writer for '30 rock', one of the great american tv comedies of the 2000s. Then he left 'community' and wrote and starred in his own tv show, 'Atlanta', which is critically acclaimed. Then he dropped hip hop-R&B albums as Childish Gambino, his rapper persona. The change between the first time I saw him onscreen and the last iteration was so great I couldn't even believe it was the same person.

From what I interpretted was that Japanese people that are born and raised in the US don't know how to speak Japanese. That's not entirely true, it depends on the environment that they grew up in and if they actually stuck to speaking Japanese from a young age. Then again, I could be wrong and that could be what she meant. IDK Btw I'm Vietnamese/Chinese but I grew up on both Cantonese and Vietnamese so I speak both languages pretty fluently. I think both Joji and filthy frank are just parts of his personality and not his entirety. I've seen his artful emotional side in his filthy frank videos from time to time and I've seen the same humor from his time as filthy frank now as Joji but much more docile comparatively. In my opinion he's acting as both personas to some extent because they are his livelihood just as most people who thrive off of the opinions of others. I know from myself that I am at times a very bright hopeful person and at others extremely dark but neither one is who I am as a whole so I don't always expect complete simplicity in others.

    He never lived in Australia. He grew up in Osaka, went to college in New York. So he has Japanese and the normal American accent down.

    When a girl and a man react to filthy frank and joji's stuf at the same time. Most of the video reaction will be funny because the boys akways laugh and girls reaction would be so awkward cause they feel weird about joji. And they even can't tell the difference between fake and true character😅
