Hi Shawn, This is my first time posting on your channel since I'm usually just a silent viewer, and I've been wanting to thank you for a while now because your videos have brought me so much comfort and joy - especially your 'Hey Arnold' videos! So, again, I just wanted to express my gratitude for everything that you do for us. Also, please don't apologize for the lack of videos, Shawn. Prioritizing your dad, your family, and your health is much more important right now. So it's understandable. Sending lots of love to you and your family! 💜🌹 Edit: Made some grammar mistakes so came back to edit it. 😅

Aw man, I'm so sorry to hear about this. I also feel terrible that I've been passively watching nearly every single video of yours since your Rocko iceburg (I just checked, and that was TWO YEARS ago), and I knew little about this. I know it's not exactly a reasonable feeling of guilt, as we don't know each other and I have no responsibility to you, but as I've said in the past, I care more about my content creators being able to live healthy and fulfilling lives than to be fed content by them, and in a way, I feel like that extends to trying to be aware of any struggles they may be going through at a given time (that have been publicly expressed, of course). That being said, my condolances, Good Sir. I've lost family to cancer, too, but from what you've described, it almost sounds like I can empathise a bit better through using the memory of my grandmother suffering through Alzheimer's. It's never easy, but I try to remind myself that the pain I feel is just a reflection of the love I had for someone that can no longer be expressed in the same way. From what I've heard you share of your dad, I'm glad you were able to be his son. It sounds like you both really appreciated and loved each other a lot, and that's awesome. I didn't have the best relationship with my parents, so it makes me happy to see/hear when parents and children love each other in healthy ways, which it sounds like you and your dad did. May this next leg of your journey be merciful to you, and may peace find its way to you through your turmoil. I sincerely wish the best for you, and I've now subscribed so I can make sure to really be doing all I can to support you.

Shawn, I raise my pickle chips to you. I found your content recently a month ago when I was bored late at night and absolutely fell in love. I found your video on the episode of As Told By Ginger about mental health very poignant. As someone who has been struggling with depression and who loves to write, it hit me some place it needed to. My grandpa has cancer right now, as does one of our close family friends. It was a shock when I found out. Take your time as you need. It's truly a shellshock. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither is good content. Love ya, man. Take care.

man i wish you the best through this. i know how tough it is to lose loved ones, i've lost pretty much all of my family (grandma in 2008, mom in 2011, dad in 2022, my sister in 2023 along with probably around 20+ aunts, uncles and cousins over the years since i come from a pretty big family) but all of those were sudden and unexpected. i can't imagine knowing for sure that it's gonna happen and having to process that. i guess at least one good thing is you'll get to say a proper goodbye which is something i deeply wish i could have done for everyone on my end. praying for you in a kinda "Giygas fight from Earthbound" way and hoping all your other viewers are too ❤

My heart goes out to you friend. I lost my uncle last year who had every single strip of my comic strip published in my local paper & every bill from every play I performed in my local community acting group. So I know the pain of losing not just a family member but your #1 fan & personal cheerleader. Please take your time with your content as we all understand where your priorities are. Feel free to reach out if you want/need to just talk. You're darkness & the pain of feeling alone is real BUT YOU ARE NOT ALONE. ❤

Honey, you have absolutely NOTHING to apologize for, especially since Cancer is in the mix! I lost one of my baby sisters to cancer in 2016 and it's literally a demonic disease. Also, my dad passed away last August so I completely understand if you need to slow down or go on hiatus. Family comes first. Mental and physical health comes before content and we all know how deeply you adore your family because you've shared that with us. We're here for you, man and we will definitely keep you in our prayers, as well as make sure that you can get your Bag by watching and rewatching your videos, which isn't a chore at all because they're S-Tier videos. You approach cartoon commentary in an unique and empathetic way and it's refreshing. We got you, Shawn. Don't worry.

I’m sorry to hear about your dad. Cancer’s a real big pain in the rear. Here’s hoping that you kick back a bit more and just enjoy the time that you get to spend with him and your relatives. Cherish it and let him know just how much you care (love) him as there are people in this world who never tell their parents that and who later really regret it. Enjoy.

First of all Im so sorry for what you and your family are going through right now. I can relate to the pain. My father died of pancreatic cancer when I was 15. By the time I was 22 I lost my father my mother and my baby son. Im still only 26 and if it werent for my boyfriend and his family I would be completely alone. Doesnt matter what age you are losing a loved one is always exctremely painful, especially when they are still around and you cant do anything to help them. I think its worse than actual death. However Im happy that as you said you were a little boy when he was first diagnosed, and he managed to stand up and live 2 more decades after that. He got to see you become a man, raising your own family have a child of your own. It just shows how much strenght and courage he has.
