I used 91% achohol for 1 gallon. I used a half of cup of 91% in the gallon and it was slushy @ 26 degrees in upstate NY. I added another half of cup of 91% and it Did Not freeze at all.

Nice! The alcohol will also help with the beading on the windshield

I was using the Nexzett brand Krystal Klar concentrate mix. On Amazon it was $26 for a 55 gallon yield concentrate mix. (Oddly the Nexzett site was $40 for the same mix) So amazon pricing is roughly 50 cents a gallon. Yours is cheaper. The soapy-ness of the Krystal Klar is good for bugs in the summer and salt/calcium during the winter in the colder states, just dont forget to add some RA !!

Your HVAC condensate pump and dehumidifier can give you plenty of free distilled water for all your needs. That is what I make my window cleaners, pour in my clothes iron and floor cleaning vac.

Methanol is cheaper than alcohol and usually has a higher alcohol percentage/content.

Great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of the alcohol mix for winter. I've been making my summer mix using homemade Windex cheap. Why can't you use a few drops of blue food coloring? Or you could use red for a different washer color. It never gets below -20F here in NY.
