I love this tip! Fellow Floridian here and the temps are insane! It’s so confusing to me that people don’t use the Sun shield reflectors in their car dashboards! It’s amazing the temperature difference just doing that alone. Thank you always! 😊🙌🏼💫✊🏼

Another thing you can do to clean that out is use one of those clothes dryer vent clean out wands(The brush attached to the long flexible pole) and dry brush the leaves and junk out. Then spray a cleaner down in there and wash it out.

This is a big reason why I like trucks and old cars… way less plastic shrouds and covers for stuff to get caught under and things are way more accessible for cleaning

I always try to keep an eye on the radiator and everything around it. It is amazing how many bugs can build up and those leaves are incredible. Good video!

@SweetProjectCars nice! Some cars require surgery to get to the top of the drain. So I go in from the bottom by taping a trash bag onto the headliner with painters tape and blow air at 15psi then water same pressure, then air again. Too much pressure will rip that bag, then you'll be finding pine needles and such for the rest of your life lol. I enjoy your knowledgeable insights and am just passing it on.

My car is 15 years old. I am nervous to see how many leaves have accumulated

I wonder if this will help my 97 ford f150. Had the shop replace the compressor, the fan assembly clutch, recharge and replace the acculmator and still it doesn't blow as cold as it did last summer before the compressor went bad.

Whats theory behind replacing the pressure sensor?

It is a user serviceable part that wears out and slowly degrades which means that 90% of the time in our 50 yrs. experience, they do not go out in the blink of an eye, they usually just slowly lack the efficiency to do it's job by keeping the a/c running at full capacity. Looks like we are talking about the high pressure switch here. Is that one more prone to failure than the low pressure switch? My 2001 Chevy 1/2 ton cargo van has nice cold a/c until it has run for 20 minutes or so. The condenser looks clean. I will replace the high pressure sensor and see what happens. Thank you MM.

If you are going to get involved in the project, Steve, change both switches. As long as your refrigerant is up in the green on the gauge, then change the switches. Curious Mike, what is that switch/sensor exactly? The A/C fan sensor? My air is really cold in my ride, and I'm in Florida too (Sarasota). Think the switch/sensor could still be bad on mine? Thx! 🍻

It is the a/c pressure sensor, all vehicles with a/c have one you just have to find it :) This is a maintenance item that most people don't know about, it's very inexpensive to replace and is a good idea if it's more than 3 years old.
