How to make Korokke (Japanese style Croquette) 〜コロッケ〜 | easy Japanese home cooking recipe

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video, I am showing how to make "Korokke" (Japanese style Croquette), one of the most popular comfort food in Japan. This is originally from England, but have evolved in Japan in the last 100 years. This is loved by everybody in Japan and sold often in Butcher or Convenience stores. This takes a bit longer time to cook, but definitely worth the effort.
In my Channel, I show step by step of alternative but authentic Japanese home cooking, which can be made with the ingredients that are easily available outside of Japan.
Ingredients for Croquette (2-3 Portions):
Potatoes (suitable for making mashed potatoes) 5-7
Onion 1
Ground beef 100 g
Salt & Pepper 1/4 Tsp each
Flour
Egg
Panko (bread crumbs)

Excellent dish that I'll try, just got to take issue with the Worcestershire sauce, you've got to use the genuine article, it's made only a few miles from where i live, I'm sure it's marketed in Japan.

One of my favorite Japanese foods I actually make these at least once a week for my friends here in New York. I wish I could find a single Japanese man around my age I’m 42 to marry in Japan and cook for him. But I guess Japanese men don’t like transgenders. Oh well this is becoming one of my favorite Japanese KZread channels.

Hi Taino! There is a question I have always wanted to ask (not associated with your incredible and yummy sounding croquettes) - why is it that, in Japan, when eating noodle dishes served in broth nobody finishes the broth after the noodles & toppings have been eaten? It seems a waste to me and I wonder if there is a particular reason?

Thanks a lot for your cooking. It is awesome easy to make the same dishes like you. And it tastes so good. Is it possible for you to make some affiliate Amazon links from were i can get the same ingredients like you? Maybe you can earn some money from it.

I was chuckling because that's good old Bulldog Sauce. To get the full taste of Bulldog, you mix plum puree with Worcester sauce and a few other extra things. Best to just buy it, despite the price. So worth it!

FYI, croquette is of French origin, not English. As per Wikipedia - History. In 1887, the French croquette was introduced to Japan. It is thought that the korokke using mashed potatoes was invented because dairy processing technology had not been popularized in Japan at that time. The first mention of a "kuroketto" appears in cookery books from the Meiji era. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korokke

Not Wooster sauce as known in England, but bulldog sauce. Such a different taste. Why are you cutting corners but putting on your apron like a samurai! Even your rice look wafu. Not authentic.

Wooster sauce or bulldog sauce are both great for korokke. Whatever is available where you live.
