But they couldn't have taken 5 FUCKING SECONDS to wonder whether the weird ominous warning wasn't just a part of gameplay. Roses are also often used as a symbol for sanctuary and peace, so once they figured out the connection couldn't they just play it in a rose garden?

He didn't "find" the crowbar. Swink dropped it from his inventory and it appeared on the staircase in front of hutch.

@@egamerwithdisease8553 in the game he landed in a hedge, irl he landed in a rose bush which saves him, there was nothing in the game world to allow him to survive, if the Lumas had had roses when he was about to be hung he would have survived even though his character died, how long this last is unknown but it is like Final Destination, a loophole.

In Romania(at least the region where my family comes from) rose thorns are actually used to ward off strigoi(OG vampires). So that's probably where the movie got the rose idea from, cool detail :)

Also in the book Dracula a wild rose laid across a vampire's coffin traps them in it, which might have come from Stoker reading about that belief

Saw this moving in theaters. When we watched those two talk through the door and the rumbling started, we all were shouting for him to give Abby a rose, one guy yelling "Give her a fucking rose!" We cheered when he handed her one finally.

This is one of those horror movies that sticks with you. I will likely always remember this movie. I saw it once a long time ago when I was a kid, and rewatched it a few years ago. One hell of a movie with a unique enough concept to where you'll think of this movie occasionally.

Being a fan of Stay Alive since I was young, I was really excited for Choose or Die. Needless to say, I was severely let down.

This is a bit off topic, but a number of historians believe Elizabeth Bathory was not a murderer and there's significant evidence toward that conclusion. What she did was bring in sick people, especially girls, to her castle, making it a hospital. However illness + medicine in that time = a lot of dead people. This wouldn't have been a problem, except she was an extremely powerful person, politically speaking, and a widow who refused to remarry. To give you an example of how much sway she had, reportedly she was owed a significant debt by the king of Hungary at the time. As such, there were a lot of nobles who wanted her out of the picture, so they took advantage of the people dying in her castle(who were, y'know, sick peasants she was trying to care for) and whipped up those accusations and stories to destroy her. And remember that debt from the king I mentioned? Well, obviously you don't need to pay a debt to a virgin-killing blood-bathing monster, so there was vested interest in declaring her guilty.

Its a nice thinking. But I do believe it happened. Theres plenty of evidence, who shows her guilt. its the same with Dracula and Darja N. Saltykowa (who was even worser the Barthory.) I have three books with testemonies about the most gruesome murders around Europe. I just think they want her to be innocent bc shes a woman. And women cant be that cruel. Besides BECAUSE she was a woman, she didnt face the death penality, but rotted in a chamber and then dying in her bed. Others in the book, who did horrible thing , but werent nobles, had very cruel penalities. Anyhow, like in the Darja N. S. case, there were testemonies and people who not only helped her, but tortured with her. Both were sadistic women who thought that their privilege sheltered them from punishment. And in the case of Dracula, he became even a hero in Romania, bc he saved them from the muslims. I do have no doubt she was a spoild woman, and (alot of women have the same thoughts) bc she feared aging she went nuts, like Darja....

It's a very interesting story! I've been to the castle where she was imprisoned many times, it's fascinating! The thing about discovering the truth of her life is that it's very very hard to distinguish truthful accounts of her actions, local myth and folklore, and smears by political rivals or, as we'd say today, haters. I don't believe sensational claims of vampirism or ritual abuse, but I do believe she was a murderer and am not convinced by the hospital/infirmary hypothesis.

Yeah allegedly she's one of the most prolific killers in human history, over 1500 victims. Horrifying if true but at the time she was a really powerful woman who many other nobles wanted gone so I'd take everything with a grain of salt. Still makes for a very cool story/legend.

@@dogd4ze true, probably when he went into the bush the game registered him dead cuz he was coated in roses. Hard to explain but sum it up he is basically a walking ward to keep the ghost at bay. Also since he technically died in game but not irl he'd technically remain that way as long as he is coated in roses.

I absolutely LOVE this movie! Went to the theater, bought the DVD and everything. Showed it to my husband...I could HEAR his eye rolls through the entire movie; ngl, kinda broke my heart a little.

People who are confused as to why when they killed the Main Ghost They kept getting hurt. The Ghost in the game was just a player so to speak just like the group, the game itself is the demonic spirit, the ghost in the game is sort of like a puppet just being used to lure people in as the 'main challenge' when it's the actual game that's a ghost/demon.

It’s just so strange to watch this guy explain how he would tell everyone a haunted video game killed people

I remember watching this movie a bunch as a kid, I was trying to understand how the game could even work. Like the mechanics it would have, but I came to the conclusion that it would not be a very good game, unless you go the meta route, and have it be a game inside a game.

Cinema summary: the man also was breathing when he was opening the refrigerator but had no idea 5 people will die

I have started asking myself: *"Would this be something that would put me on a How to Beat episode on how I fucked up?"* before doing something.

Those pictures in the lineup at 1:19 were surprisingly clear and crisp and bright. If you zoomed in you could tell every person's eye colour. I just found it fascinating cause I generally have a hard time spotting people's eye colours but they stuck out so much in those pics.

This use to be the scariest movie for me growing up. Love it

Stay alive was the first horror movie I watched as a kid

To be real. I would do just that. Like, that was my thought. I was like "Huh, hates mirrors, don't like roses....Alright, time to cover myself with as much reflective plastic as possible and just literally carry around like, 3 bouquets of roses."

This movie was my introduction to horror movies, and its so cool seeing how to beat covering

I would LOVE to play this as a video game,but only if it doesn't kill me in real life,lol

after I heard "but now the game has been released into stores" I was like oh na now a lot of people are going to die and she's going to come back for them most likely since she has broken the game rules multiple times

The comment section of How to Beat videos always has the best vibes tbh. No arguing, no hate speech- just people pumped about how to be smarter in horror movies!!

This was my favorite movie, when I was a kid I used to be so scared to play any horror games just because of this movie

Elizabeth Bathory,while she was probably abusive to staff and the people, she was no worse than a lot of other nobles of the time. A lot of what we know about her evil deeds was obtained through horrific forms of torture ordered by the King who had every reason to have her out of the way so he wouldn’t have to pay off his debts to her.

Its super goofy and it confuses everyone ive shown it too but i love it so much

I´m from Slovakia and I heard about her in some old Slovak legend. In that legend she was killing young girls for their blood to bathe in it to become younger... The creepiest legend I´ve ever heard.

I definitely like how these videos are done now because the host/channel creator explains everything at a slower pace instead of rushing thru.

I don't think everyone's going to die with the game's full release. With Elizabeth gone, they really should just find an empty game that gets 0/10 for having nothing for players to do. Also, Hutch is still on the hook for everyone's murders, isn't he? Where the heck is the detective now? He should be PISSED.

i've seen enough SAO (sword art online) to know what to do, stay near the protag at all times and help them so you don't become a side character and die.

The way i see it is like a online game where you can’t pause but still go to the menu. So you can still die if you’re standing out in the open.

1)Grab a hammer 2)Destroy the disc 3)If she supernaturally runs the game with or without an emulator, destroy the computer too 4)Everyone else is saved 5)The end

you know there would be other benefits to there being more players? more people to share strategies with, being able to have more people in a active party could even prevent deaths. (not all of them clearly) people sharing info on what items or builds could be best if its that kind of game. probably even people who would stay back a bit and just be support even. as well as just to many targets for the ghost in the game.

You would probably make more money being a detective than solving Scooby Doo mysteries on movies 💀

First of all how did squeek survive, even though he died in the game? I know he was in a bed of roses but couldn’t the ghost have gotten him when he got out of them? Second of all since the ghost has already been defeated wouldnt the game no longer be haunted?

For the first part. Maybe she couldn't completely kill him because there was a buffer period between the characters death and their own. And since she was distracted by the others squeek could have survived. As for the second there something you have to think about. Who made the game. I don't think Elizabeth was able to learn highly skilled coding skills in he sealed up tower that didn't look like it had access to a computer ot electricity. It's possible someone made the game for her. And if so. Mabey created a copy of the ghost soul. So it might not be the real ghost but an echo mabye? That's the part I wondered as well. What do you think how to beat?

He did state that she used the game in order to take revenge. If that's the case she could technically exist in every single copy that has a form of code in it, regardless of if the "original host" is dead or not.

He survived because of the rose bush he dove into in the real world. In the game there was no rose bush but because in real life she couldn't cross the bush, the game had to declare him deceased by default. The other part is I'm assuming by the time the actual game is released as it wasn't released right away, it becomes just a regular game where she can't get you in real life. Also the prayer is already being recited by the previous players so there's no summoning by reading the prayer.

Please do Darkness Falls and Dead Silent how to beat. So glad you did Stay Alive.
