    Why would people lie in the first round? You are with strangers. It is not like you are revealing that you are cheating on your fiance with a student to your friends or family. Especially after the first guy, you learn that the people in charge know the truth and will let everyone else know. So if you are going 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, no point in lying. Even if they are possibly streaming, the truth will still come out. So better to just not lie. At the start of the 2nd round, it shows the host definitely knows the truth, and they have access to more than just looking at your profile. They can see your history and other stuff, so there is no point in lying at all.

    For the matter of how quick the punishments were carried out, there's also the possibility that people weren't actually chosen at random, and that everything was set up ahead of time for a number of punishments for each player. People could already be in position to murder someone, simply waiting on a signal. Someone breaks a rule, the host gives the go ahead, and the murder is carried out, so it's not necessarily prerecorded just because it was quick. If the guy seeking revenge was able to set all of this up, it seems perfectly reasonable that he's got a small crew working for him to carry things out.

  • @rosestar1324

    @rosestar1324

    It was prerecorded. The real Max's brother's dead body was on the plane with them. This means all the victims were killed before anyone got on the plane.

  • @maximillian1109

    @maximillian1109

    Жыл бұрын

    I think they were all already dead, tbh. The gm did not plan for anyone to survive the experience, so it never mattered if their sister or daughter survived, because they would never return home to find them killed anyway. Its also so much easier to just kill them all beforehand and show the recordings later. I do wish though that the players had realized that the killings happened to fast, and that their family members most likely already was gone. Would have been interesting to see if that knowlige would ha e changed their behaviour.

  • @justinsinke2088

    @justinsinke2088

    I think folks are missing the point of what I said. At the point in the movie where HTB asserted that it was most likely prerecorded, there was not really the evidence for it, as that assertion was made before the body was found or the fact that the plane was intended to crash was revealed. In hindsight, yes, there is evidence that it was all prerecorded and that there were likely more people killed in advance than was shown in the movie. However, the main assertion made in the video was that the punishments happened too quickly to be a live broadcast, and therefore were prerecorded, and frankly that alone is not nearly solid enough evidence for the assertion. His conclusion may have been right, but his rationale (when initially made) was faulty.

    @@justinsinke2088 That is fair, I feel like a step often missed in these videos is you need to determine, as best you can, the level of resources available to your adversary. An elaborate ruse and a private plane means money, but we haven't seen a lot of co-conspirators at all, in this one we could reasonably assume it's not a globe-spanning conspiracy. In some other games they have huge facilities, dozens of staff, we can reasonably assume unlimited resources and thus it's realistic they have some dozens of assassins out there. But here? The number of variables to control for, the chance of something going wrong (what if they kick in someone's door and they have friends over? what if someone decides at the last moment to go out? what if the neighbors spot them lurking and call the police? What if something happens nearby or next door and police show up? etc.) and the geographic dispersion of targets means that it's unlikely to be done on command.

    They could've tried to break the windows of the jet, as most modern jets had a system that sends a distress signal if the cabin, or pressure of the jet is compromised. This signal can't be turned off manually, and only turns off if the pressure stabilized and thus might ruin the plan, as military will be sent, if the plane doesn't try to land, or drop in altitude.

Even if the bottles don't break, the bottles can be used as weapons. The trick is to answer in the most ambiguous way or with open-ended questions. Gwen's told to stop "Max", but for how long? @26:10, of course, there IS the real-life story of the only survivor of a plane crash surviving by staying put in her seat. Several members of the 1977 Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash, including Allen Collins, Artimus Pyle, and the late Billy Powell, lived to tell the tale of the crash that claimed the lives of several of their bandmates, the assistant road manager, and BOTH pilots. @29:02, even if I can't communicate, I would send out "SOS". I'm guessing Joan's daughter and the pilot's family are all there, too. Whether they answered truthfully or not, dismantled the plane or not, as soon as they got on, it was all over. Their only real chance was discovering the bodies early instead of playing the dumb game and realizing some bodies weren't people the 4 knew. THEN they could convince the pilots to not kamikaze into a building full of innocent civilians, since there was nothing left worth fighting for. Of course, that's only if the worthless trash running the game didn't spare the pilot's family to threaten him in real time.

Like when the first system, Justice, is often both gamed by career criminals and their lawyers, who are willing to bet that they'll get away with it; while other criminals abuse Justice to do the crimes and harm others on their behalf. This also applies to personal vengeance. Adhering to a strict moral code, can be exploited. Not everyone is threatened by fines, or property destruction, or injury or even death - and more people still will find ways to prevent it. Be it by having guards, or by using human shields. The moment this deters retaliation, retaliation is useless, and crime pays. That's why the berserk button exists and must exist. Push someone too far, and their sense of vengeance will no longer care about principle. Just about making you suffer. If you shield yourself, well, we'll go after your family. If you didn't mind your own death, well, you might care about your child. If you thought we would spare you for the innocents around you: you may find we won't. In fact, after we kill the innocents, we may then make sure your end is all the more painful for it: torture is on the table. You can't hope to game a system that has no rules. (incidentally, this is also why societal systems sometimes include this. For instance, we don't negotiate with terrorists. Because although this means we sacrifice innocents in that instance: it also means potential terrorists know there's nothing to gain, so they're far less likely to put those innocents at risk in the first place) Proper note: all justice is evil. Kidnapping someone for their best remaining years is a horrible act. Vengeance is unfiltered evil, and bitter vengeance is the worst evil of all, as there's no limit to its cruelty. It's a necessary evil, but that doesn't make it good. And insofar as we have the choice, we should use the least evil necessary.

Asking the TSA agents to "check out your flight details" is going to have one of two results: either they tell you "I don't have time for that bullshit" or they detain and interrogate you for several excruciating hours/days...

    Apparently he doesn't realize that the USA doesn't dictate rules to the rest of the world either. The flight left London. As far as I know, TSA and FAA are American bodies and wouldn't have any jurisdiction in a foreign country. There would probably be an equivalent to them, but possibly operating under completely different laws and regulations.

    Travelling from the UK to the US or the other way around is very much non-trivial. There's not a lot of red tape involved, but there are checks you have to go through. You don't need a visa to visit the US from the UK or visit the UK from the US, but you still have to have your details checked to confirm you don't need a visa, and that's only valid for like 3 years. Then you have to fill out customs papers to declare who you are and whether you're carrying anything prohibited. Then you have to speak with a customs agent to verify all the information you gave. I travel pretty regularly to the US from the UK and back, and while it's not a difficult process, there are a fair few checks and paperwork to go through, and for good reason. You can't just hop on a plane and breeze across the Atlantic lol

    These movies are all like "this maniac has infinite resources and they choose to use it to torture people to death" We're lead to believe they either have a boatload of goons all over the place all willing to kill because there are more goons ready to kill the first one's families (and presumably someone is threatening to kill theirs as well?) OR they did it all before hand, going from person to person committing mass murder over a long span of time without being caught. In both cases it's probably all in the same general area, because these people are all taking the flight out of the same fricken airport. I always wonder how they justify getting revenge on a person by killing people who have nothing to do with the situation. This guy is willing to kill a little girl because his little girl was bullied to suicide? That little girl had nothing to do with it, and his girl wasn't even directly murdered. I realize that understanding their motive is trying to understand a completely unhinged person, but if they're so irrational how the hell did they set all of this up.

    Once people on the ground come into play, what they should have done would have definitely been to verify if it actually was live and happening at that moment. There would be a chance they were already dead like you said and the play here is to request something specific to happen on screen like writing a phrase on their hand and show it. And considering the brother was already in the plane, they were indeed prerecorded. Also like why lie during the first two rounds? You're with strangers that you have a 99% chance you'll never see again (though granted it would be worse if it was livestreamed) and it's obvious the game master knows the truth. Really the questions on how many units of alcohol that one girl drinks and what famous character that other girl is compared to are the only two that I see hard to answer truthfully assuming you're not someone that keeps track of how much you drink and you don't brag about being compared to the character and make it part of your personality.

    At first I got a bit irritated at the assertion that "all of the people are bad people in some way" because it implies anyone dealing with addiction is morally bad. But that's not actually what the people have in common. You have a group of people who are not accepting of their own flaws and/or not trying to better themselves. The girl who is an alcoholic has been through rehab and learned of her own weakness, but done some work to accept it and move forward, though she immediately relapses at the first opportunity. She had the most "honest" answers but still lied indicating that she is not yet taking full advantage of opportunities or charge of her life. These are all people who obfuscate the truth for their own benefit. After all, it's one thing to omit characteristics when they're irrelevant to a situation, but it's another thing to deny owning your flaws when prompted. I'm not the guy that's going to walk up to random people on the street to tell them that I'm a recovering heroin, meth, coke, etc addict. It wouldn't serve a purpose. But if I talk to someone that's having a rough time of it, I might divulge that so that they can see a light at the end of the tunnel. My wife and I have been together since she was 18 and I was 20 (13+ years). There have been 2 times I've ever tried to lie to her to protect her from a harsh reality, but both times I ended up telling her the truth within 3 minutes. It hurt me too much to try to keep her from reality. She's not at the same level yet, so I know how both sides feel. There's no point in lying. The people who care about you will forgive and accept you. The people who don't matter to you at all will be the ones to remove themselves from your presence. If that's not a win-win, I don't know what is. People don't have much they can truly count on n this world- let your word be one of the exceptions. I've never once regretted telling the truth because: it's easier to accept what IS than trying to maintain what ISN'T!

    first of all, don't drink alcohol. use any reasonable excuse to avoid it without looking rude. a good idea could be to say that you don't drink anymore to help a friend that had alcohol trouble. this would explain that you don't drink, and show you as willing to sacrifice for a friend. second, in cases like this, get two phones. if you are asked to hand your phone, you hand the "worthless" one while keeping the functional one with yourself. third, in cases were things look too good to be true, read absolutely everything you are given. twice as much if you have to sign, or agree to, it in some way. openly explain that a friend of a dead family member (for example your grandmother) was conned because he was careless with legal documents. it shows you as somebody careful, skilled and open to offer help and advice. good traits if teamwork is needed. be f*cking sincere at the personal questions asked by the game. shame is meaningless in this kind of scenario but trust can save your live. they are forbidden to tell what their task is but, nobody said nothing about saying what their task ISN'T. and, by the way, f*ck off whoever is hostage out of the plane. try to punish me by torturing/murdering those close to me. I'm pretty sure I'd just go down with the plane honestly. Imagine surviving that fall. It's the middle of the night, you're stranded in the ocean, in what appears to be a storm, at high latitude, presumably at least a few miles away from where the plane ultimately crashed. You're injured, floating in freezing cold, dark water, with absolutely no land in sight. What is the point? At this point the crash is a mercy. If you survive, bonus points, because at least you have a chance of being found before you die that way. The ending isn't even unrealistic, because people do stupid stuff when they're facing death, but I really can't imagine any situation where it makes more sense to jump out of the plane. The best thing to do is go to the furthest back seat and strap in. Jumping out is literally suicide. If you survive the fall, you're just unlucky enough to experience your death viscerally.
