The lotion is actually an accurate detail in a way. This is unrelated, but during my time in a Russian orphanage when I was very young, having lotion rubbed on my back was actually one of the only positive memories I had of the place. It was likely to prevent bedsores and dry skin, because we were also tied down in our cribs overnight. It was probably done for our own safety but I was pretty traumatized by it and still cannot sleep on my back to this day. We were also fed incredibly quickly, bordering on force feeding. The sad part is that the poor conditions were likely only due to extreme budget and time constraints, effects of the Soviet Union even years later. My passport was a Soviet one despite being adopted more than 7 years after it’s fall.

If it still affects the way you sleep, you might want to consider therapy or medication, and I don’t mean that as a pejorative. It always bugs me when a story has people have never experienced normal life realizing that what they're experiencing isn't normal, without prompting. Like in the Truman show, why did he find it weird that his wife talked like a commercial about products? That's been his whole life, it's weird that HE doesn't do that. "If you'd lived your entire life here, you'd definitely be asking why there are no windows." Why? Every building you've ever seen has no windows. You may not even know what a window IS. That IS reality for you. Fuck it, they could have just taught these kids how wonderful it is to have your face cut off. They wouldn't know any better.

Another good tidbit is to understand that is that, depending on your work site, guards are often treated with an amount of capitalistic distrust. And this is exploitable. Sites were guards assign their own patrols, are instead told to do (x) amount of patrols. Or they have a checking system where they have to tag their position, or check in at check points to ensure they are "working for their pay". These are a huge downside in Security work because they make routes predictable. There's only so many ways I can move through a space and still hit each position to prove to a department head I 'did my job'

For me, I'm one of those people who happen to have an extremely vivid imagination. So for me- not having to see a horror movie, but still know what happens and all- is a big deal for me. But it this case, I'm happy to say it's nothing short of a huge help! 😁👍 Of course, the whole vivid imagination thing? That was before I had gotten smart enough, to simply look up a movie's full summary, if I didn't want to watch it.

How I imagined I’d beat the situation is once I found out they wanted my face, I’d instruct others to give them selves facial cuts and lead by example to encourage the other orphans to follow through on something theyve probably never considered or atleast be prepared to. I’d use my skin as a bargaining chip especially if I knew the specific value, if it was low, well the plan is bumpkis, but if my value were high, you could force the guards to not touch you and the staff to not touch you by threatening with action that you will ruin the value of their merchandise in full, your face and the other kids faces, if a guard comes after you, you could always start trying to i jute yourself on everything, they’ll try harder to stop you from hurting yourself than they would try to stop you from escaping. Because escape is impossible in the minds of the guards, but the prospect of the merchandise being damaged or even completely destroyed is an ever present threat. Even if they catch you, your value will end up being 0 if your face is jacked up, and as we noticed from the movie, the doctor once the skin he wanted was damaged was killed, but not the children, as without their faces they have no value. And even at most, you need a few deep knicks, not even a full cut, but a cut that will for sure leave scars would probably be enough to diminish the value greatly without a risk to yourself

The US does still have orphanages. They're renamed but they still exist. There's only one still called Orphanage and I think it's in Florida. Most have been renamed "Group home" but those "group homes" are still Orphanages.

Is it even said how young they are when theyre sent (its alluded that they pay the parents for their children if not kidnap them) I guess since the doc says "I worked 16 years for that face" that they're literally there since birth, im sure the movies they watched were one of the only reasons they started thinking different, that and the girl who stopped taking her vitamins overhearing people, only took 1 domino for the whole system to fall.

Reminds us of our childhood before we finally got away from them. We will be forever grateful to the one that saved us. Local law enforcement would bring us back each time we got away until they failed at falsely accusing us of a crime. We were out of state staying on a military base at the time. We are now married to the person who saved us from all of that. 😊

They could try to start a fire earlier on in as they would have to be moved out of the floor they're on possibly giving them a chance to witness more of the layout of the building. They got really lucky that the door immediately led them to a stairway that took them out of the building. If the doors can be unscrewed then I'm sure they could also find things to use to unscrew the doors as well and they can look over the building that way while they're supposed to be asleep.

Imagine leaving your house and his voice is narrating you all the time. You're heading to the grocery store and you made a right turn what would you do? And this turn was your biggest mistake. Not knowing up ahead there was an accident You're going 45 miles per hour 10 mph more than the past speed limit. If you (divide mass X acceleration X impact) you'll be decapitated. If you slow down quick enough you'll be able to get in the other lane before impact . In america there's X about of accident per day from people texting and driving if you just pay attention and slow down you'll avoid driving to your death. Or Just turn left and go around and avoid it all.
