So much of this movie is Aldofo's fault. He is impatient over a grieving mother who just lost her dog, he is negligent of the twins and his wife, he can be aggressive towards his wife and literally sets the house on fire, if he just stop, drop and roll or stay away from the liquor he could've saved his house

How? Wasn’t the wife the one that laughed it off when the girl almost killed her brother? And didn’t the wife let it slide when the kids almost killed her? If her husband didn’t show up they would’ve surely killed her but she said it was okay and didn’t even tell them how wrong it was the husband did.

To be fair, Adolfo (toxic husband of the year 💯💯) pretty much forced her to adopt children against her own will by using her guilt etc. to manipulate her, she TRIED to get along with them from what I’ve seen but you can’t blame a depressed woman who has to handle an obviously toxic husband for having problems to handle and love two maniacs. She was still depressed because of her biological loss and it would be near impossible to love two adopted children (wich you only adopted die to manipulation of both husband and children) like their your own or at all when struggling like that

The father is clearly trying to force her to replace her lost children with these adopted children. A lot of people seem to think you can solve mental health/relationships problems with children. I would even bet that the damage of this idea is the theme of this movie.

it seems important to add that at 30:00 she didn't just randomly almost pass out. She tried the method of suffocating herself that the kids showed her in order to see God. It was after she almost suffocated herself that she heard the baby's cry. It is an important factor into making her believe in God.

She probably missed having a manipulative abuser in her life. Now she has two. Now seriously some people are really like this, it's not just bad luck they end up with an abuser relationships after relationship and it’s not like they like to be in a toxic relationship sometimes is a child trauma like having an abusive parent for example. In the ending she is wearing the cross they gave her so now she fully believes that her baby was their miracle, that she was saved by god’s grace and that her husband was punished for being a bad father and a horrible husband. They completely gaslighted her or better said she left them do it because she needs it.

I haven't seen the movie, but from this video I'd assume she'd think that the kids were in her house and saved the baby? She herself is not religious as she's not interested in pushing a religion on her newborn, so her logical conclusion is that someone went into the house and moved the baby. And she did ask the nun if they were in her house.

Not IMMEDIATELY running for the baby when she discovered the door open and wet footprints in the house was so negligent and dumb. Even if she thought it was probably Adolfo (Adolpho?) there's no reason he would have been outside and at a minimum she should have asked him and if he hadn't been out, they should have both immediately ran to check on them baby themselves and then called the cops while staying together, with the baby, preferably in a room where they could lock the door, grabbing a weapon on the way if possible. This is Europe so no guns, but at the very least a knife or a heavy, blunt object. Not to mention Adolfo going on the ROOF to fuck about with A METAL ROD during a lightning storm.

I think something you didn't touch on that could've changed literally everything was institutionalizing the children. The first step would be to research every children's mental hospital in the area, assuring that the children will be properly treated and that the hospital has a good record before sending them. Then you inform the doctors that most of the children's behavior comes from deep rooted obsession with religion but make sure to specify that you don't want the children de-converted, you just want their issues addressed and treated. And of course make sure to visit them regularly and never act like their hospitalization is a burden on you, since at the very beginning the children made comments about being unloved.

@@dantrewalton-kr9zv yes but it's the amount of stupidity that lead to his death. Another prime example of someone who deserved to die due to their stupidity is the mailman from that "Maximum Overdrive" or whatever movie, the remade 2000s one- In it, like the original, cars and vehicles are mysteriously coming to life here and there, so much so that even toy trucks and cars were coming to life. One of the side minor characters to die was a mailman who was delivering mail. Now, if he died from a full-sized car or truck, that's perfectly understandable. He dies by a toy truck If the truck did something like make him trip down the stairs or something that would also be an acceptable reasoning for how/why a character dies. So you wanna know how he does die? The stupid truck at a toy-truck speed just keeps hitting him in the foot softly until he collapses from "pain" and then it just keeps hitting him in the head until he dies- WE ARE TALKING TOY TRUCK SPEED HERE, NOT LIKE 100MPH, THERE IS NO FREAKING WAY YOU SHOULD BE DUMB ENOUGH TO DIE THIS WAY TO A TOY TRUCK OF ALL THINGS T_T!!!

The kids are extremely young kids, of course they would be bad at bibleing and misinterpreting their religion. The bible has a lot of horiffic stories and some religious groups choose to just expose children to those at a very young age. Blame, imo, goes in this order: Orphanage, Adolfo, Lola, kids. And even then, the kids don't bear that much responsibility, since they probably were brainwashed in the orphanage.
