More like his idea of her got crushed not just the cheating. I mean he thought of her as a good girl, but when he walked in after that talk with Wayne and he told him there is no such thing and then seeing her with makeup and her turning to him with that look was what really crushed him. The scene just added salt in the wound. However he is also at fault you can't bring your girlfriend especially if she is young and expect her not to have any ideas like that the more she works. It's the equivalent of bringing your GF constantly to a night club and being surprised she gets hit on.

I liked this movie and had no idea there was a prequel. The biggest problem I had was Jackson. Firstly, IR porn was NOT common in that era, and for people making an independent film, trying to get it mainstream, that wouldn’t be the way to go. Second, as a Vietnam vet, who survived two tours of most likely battling guerilla warfare in a jungle, Jackson does not act like someone who did that, let alone show any symptoms of PTSD, which was common for returning combat vets. Last, “Jackson” was not a common given name at that time. It was become much more popular common in the last 15 years or so, but I doubt a black couple in the 1950s or whenever he would have been born would name their son Jackson. The parents would more likely name him Johnson, no pun intended.

Exactly bc his back story served no purpose in the movie at all. He died so easily. If anything he should have had some type of survival instinct on his side. And tbh who brings a gun to search for their wife and their reasoning is gators. Alligators rarely attack humans on land, most attacks occur in water or close to it.

The safety in numbers is always the biggest important point for survival because if all of them had always stuck together instead of wondering off alone, they all could have possibly made it out alive??

I loved X and Pearl, but the deaths of Jackson and the projectionists will always bother me. They were both characters who could’ve easily beaten their adversary, but the films dumb them down an incredible amount to get them killed because there’s no way the other character could’ve gotten the jump on them without it (at least not physically). It felt like lazy writing and it was frustrating.
