HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT DEAD??? - Therapy Gecko Highlights

Фильм және анимация

This is a big hulking episode with a lot of great calls. 2 very important questions here: Do you know anyone? and how do you know you’re not dead? I think the best questions are ones that make anywhere from 40-70 percent sense. Enough sense to prompt an answer but not too much sense that the answer feels limited. I am a gecko.

As someone who was homeless for 2 years while working the whole time, i feel bad for the guy in the woods. People say it sounds like bs but I know how it can be. You figure out how to keep your phone charged, where to shower, how look normal/presentable so no one knows or bothers you. He sounded like he's pretty much given up and is just existing. Being a foster kid is a traumatic way to grow and can really mess a person up for life

Oh this whole concept is incredibly harmful! You have completely untrained adults playing dress up and giving themselves a name using verbiage that carries weight, and then talking to people with actual serious trauma and problems, and just being all "mehhhh mehhh oh cool" about it for monitized content. Yes, that poor man living in the woods. I'm sure people call in with fake stories, but it's not your place to tell people if their experience is made up. That only further exacerbates the issue. This is so harmful. I hope that man from the woods is doing better ❤

I disagree. The other callers were boring because they cared too much about how they would be perceived. Nothing interesting can come from a conversation with somebody like that as they reveal nothing. Calvin on the other hand didn't give a shit, was drunk also so was completely mask off and allowed the therapy gecko to actually say something insightful for once instead of just struggling to hold a conversation with a weirdo or spend 10 minutes getting trolled by somebody with a voice changer or a stupid story because he wasn't 100% sure they were talking complete bs. If more drunk people or just people who don't religiously watch his show called in like Calvin then it would be a lot more engaging to listen to.

At first Hayden's 'never spoken to anyone in two years' story really interested me and I wanted to know more, but you can just tell the dude is making it up. He sleeps in the woods, has no place to stay but manages to have a paid night security job? Surely his employer would need to have a residential address on file and the dude says he has no family/friends and doesn't talk to anyone so he can't exactly rely on someone else's details. If someone really was living in the woods and managed to have a paid job and could survive like that they couldn't just be a mute and never speak to anyone. Even if it's cash-in-hand he's still got to interact with someone to get that money. Also, seems sketchy he hasn't spoken a word to anyone in years and he's too shy to speak to a cashier two years ago but he's suddenly able to talk on a live stream in front of hundreds of people. It all just screams fake to me sadly.
