I’m 45 now, but in 1997 when I was JUST 19, I destroyed my left leg in a car crash. I died a little, no big whoop. I lived with a destroyed and rebuilt leg with yearly surgeries, for 25 years and only Jan 23 it was amputated. I’m living free and happy now, but this dudes age really reminded me of my situation. I have a badass prosthetic, and I ran a 5K last October. 9 months after amputation. Don’t let anyone set your limits for you!❤❤

To the first guy, prosthetics have come a long way but he did say they're expensive. However I think they can even 3D print some of them now. Hell there was a knight who lost his hand and made his own "prostestic" that was so dexstrous he could still fight as well write with it which was important because he was a knight poet.

I got into a bad car wreck and had to learn how to walk again. I know what this guys going thru. It'll get better

I had lost my pregnant girlfriend and our pet dog. It mentally Destroyed me. I completely went Against religion. I know have a Inverted cross on my face 666 on hands and countless other Satanic like tattoos. Started doing drugs then wanted to be come a drug dealer Constantly in and out of jail. Did a 6 month prison stay and Finished probation on Jan 25 of 2024. Probation made me go thru therapy and that probably helped more than anything. Now I'm building a small homestead in the middle of no where. I'm not gonna be able to work forever cuz Eventually my hib is gonna start hurting too much to work so I want to be able to Rely on myself. Driving is the most dangerous thing you can do. Always wear yr seat belt. It saved my life

@55SYDD I had family there for me every second of the day. It made me realize just how important yr family is. In some ways it was comforting knowing that they were there whenever I needed. It did suck having to rely on literally everyone for every little thing. Like could you get me a glass of water. Felt kinda like a helpless baby

Once when I was younger, I was with my father, uncle, and cousin lighting fireworks and for this we dug a hole in the ground set the launch tube up, and when we had lit the next firework, we had realized it wasn’t coming out and it was going to blow up in the ground. We started running, and it definitely blew up in the ground and made a 3’x3’ hole. As we were running we were getting pelted with all of the dirt and rocks from the Firework explosion 💀

The first guy can still do fishing, you just put the rod between your legs and your right hand under the pole, then reel with your left, that's how lots of commercial fishermen do it

In my country firework related accidents are so common that every year in November and December they show middle and high schoolers blown up hands and feet. Once they showed a video from live leak of a dog picking up a firework when somebody threw it.. i was 11. And middle schoolers used to hustle these shits, when i was younger almost every 12 yr sold kilos of fireworks. 6st safest country on the planet but pools of blood on the playground in late November was just a common occurrence.

Hey I am clean, I wipe in both directions

Had a 2" mortar once that somehow popped into the air like 4 feet immediately when lit and ,like a ninja, i caught it on the opposite side of the primary charge that propels it up, which went off on the other side of the mortar. as I also threw it across the road into the ditch in one motion. Then i had to dive into poison ivy😂. Hand felt like i was slapping a rock all day but the skills let me keep my hand

They had a firework called a whistling-pete, (Don't try this at home there are probably multiple fireworks by the same name). It was a firework that smoked and whistled. Point is though, if you hammer it gently, and compact it a little (def don't try this), rather than smoke and whistle they just go boom. Also certain compounds in fireworks can degrade over time, if a firework sits on a shelf for a decade it's possible to become more and more unstable over time. and can eventually become something very dangerous, even a touch or friction sensitive compound! If you have ancient fireworks I urge you to just throw them away and handle them carefully, or atleast light them from a good safe distance! Even something like a smoke bomb could be dangerous depending how its made! please like to spread awareness

I used to deal with this alot when I was younger too. If you're in situations where you have an option to get away, then get away. Don't escalate the situation if it seems the risk is too high. Get familiar with your surroundings so you know where to go if shit hits the fan. I walked all around my home town and got used to knowing where I was and where to go so when i felt unsafe, I'd run for the shadows and try my best to lose them. If you feel really unsafe, don't be afraid to knock on someone's door asking for help. I'm sorry you're going through this though. Please stay safe out there

My grandpa blew his right hand off. He was drunk saying he would blow my Nana's head off in front of the kids and when he went to sit down he flopped back into his chair and the butt of the gun hit the ground and back fired or something and blew it into pieces. He was in the middle of the bush at their camp and so he ripped the head light off his truck and wrapped the wires around his wrist to stop the bleeding. NAna drove him to the in the dark and rain to the nearest town hospital but the moke got bogged. Through some miracle a car of aboriginal men drove past and she flagged them down and begged them to take him to hospital but they looked at him and said, "No misses, he's a dead man. He's not coming in the car" and she was like he's fucking dying get him in the car!. So their spiritual beliefs were changed and he was driven to the nearest hospital where flying doctors took him to Brisbane and they performed the first of its kind hand surgery where his fingers or what was left was made into like 3 and a half claw. And the palm was sewn into his groin. He ended up having a stroke on his left side so he became unable to use any hands. It was pretty sad. When he was older I got to meet him and he told me he would tell the teenage boys in town not to touch themselves because they'd get hairy palms and they would scoff at him until he would show them his right hands palm and there were blonde pubes from where it was attached to his groin. And they'd all check their hands, hoping their palm wasn't hairy. So.... I think you'll be alright. Theres a club of new lefties who get shit done x you'll do fantastic especially with your great spirit and humor. You sound like a really cool dude. 😊 Wishing you all the best x
