"I LEFT A CULT AFTER 22 YEARS" - Therapy Gecko Highlights

Комедия

I talk to a guy about leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses after 22 years, how his family abandoned him after, and then how he built a life of his own without all the brainwashy god stuff.
I also talk to a caller who got a breast reduction that changed her life, a couple who found out thru a DNA test that they are actually siblings, a guy who is considering becoming homeless and walking the earth, and also a lot of other callers.

The strength of the gecko suit is that it breaks down walls. It makes both the viewers and the callers feel like it's just another goofy show with funny haha's, breaking down their walls they've built to hide their true inner self. At least that's what I think.

Omfg the "brother/sister" call was so wild like the chances of that exact situation are so unlikely and it's so sad that Fate, the cruel mistress she is, completely gave those two a scenario that is literally the worst outcome in a lot of ways. Literally seconds before Gecko said this is above his pay grade I said the same exact thing lol. "They're going to be fiiiiiine." Omg this is such a good episode.

It’s not inconceivable that you’d meet someone you’re related to and date them unaware, literally google it, it’s happened all the time. It’s not like she met him in australia while she was living in africa, like they were local, and there’s only a certain amount of people you’re going to meet around your age, especially now with dating apps and shit. I mean even a dude here in brisbane my mate knew here in australia almost accidentally dated his cousin, he told me this story they were talking and met up, he introduced her to “his family” and luckily his mother recognised her through facebook pictures, her brother has a different last name so they weren’t aware when they met, it’s a long story, but like, it happens man. The most conflicting thing to me in cults is the dumping of your family and friends to be a part of the cult. It’s ridiculous, and similar to right and left politics today, where they claim compassion, but only if it’s to someone who agrees with me, or believes what I do. Compassion for humans should be unconditional and for all, despite opinion. imo.

JW are nothing to joke about my classmates family was in JW so their kids from birth are naturally too. Their whole life resolves around the cult and you get raised / indoctrinated from birth. Even if you are in a normal school like she is and people talked to her about the outside world most people are simply afraid to lose their family their support. You cant stay in the family if you not a cult member and they make that very clear no matter what age you are. In the end it broke her. She had a hidden boyfriend and i dont know the exact background but when she decided to talk to her parents to not want to be any part of the cult activity they distanced themselves from her and straight up told her that she is not welcomed anymore. The part that hurt her the most is her sister. She has a sister a couple years younger than her i think 3 and she couldnt leave her parents that she loved even though she has major doubts abouut the cult. To be willing to lose your family it takes alot. In the end they made her sister lose kontakt with her older sister and their relationship broke.

I believe if we live by example and stay true to our beliefs and the results are positive in our life, maybe someone will see the reality of our faith and if they don't then that's okay to. It's not our fault that our bladder gets full it's a normal thing bc we are alive. Does not make sense to pay just to use a bathroom. While you could just get a breast reduction to eliminate this problem if you please, its more than likely some people are against the procedure being preformed on themselves or maybe just can't have the procedure done for other reasons, so disability parking might help accommodate the comfortability and health of these people. jus spit ballin tho

The freelance painter sounds like he's going through a post break-up 'fuck it' moment. Like he wants to break away all ties from everything because he lost his partner. But I dunno tho.

Bold for those twins' parents to judge them for a mess the parents made... 😐 Edit: I also hate the 'how are you doing?' question, but the people at the checkout are usually asking so they can send someone to get the items you couldn't find 🙂

He really asked the taco bell girl if she was serious but not the sibling sweethearts?! Hold on man!... taco bell gets rid of all my favorite items so im on strike fr. But I would have asked that boy Alot more questions about the activities they did and got him to meme about how tight his sister is.... srry

I guarantee if anyone brought her an item from Taco Bell with a del taco wrapper and bag she would 100% eat it. (I’m aware they taste totally different, but she hasn’t had Taco Bell in 10 years.)

Love the Geck but he did Millie so dirty. It'd have been so easy to describe Taco Bell as gross. Even if you like it (like I do) you gotta admit that it's at least a little gross.

dylans story shouldnt reflect on peoples thoughts on what jehovahs witnesses are although the forced friendships and being born into it is not really a choice, its all comes down to if you want to leave or stay and his story about his family abandoning him is sad idk what parent would do that.
