Harold Henthorn : The Black Widower

Harold Henthorn's wife had a terrible accident while hiking in the mountains, but when his story didn't make sense, it wasn't long before investigators realized that he had actually killed her... and this wasn't the first time it had happened.

I know what you mean, if I met a guy, and he told me, his first wife was trying to grab a lug nut under a jeep, and then it fell on her, yeah, I wouldn’t even continue the conversation/date, that’s too hokey to suspicious, but isn’t always obvious, we can’t always detect monsters😱

I’ve taught both my sons that, but my oldest 35,ended up with a woman that wasn’t that way at first, but sure is now, three grandkids and I don’t get to see them much, it was awkward when she was here taking a nap, and I told her don’t worry I got the kids, no problem, and then she got annoyed that I didn’t wake her up 🤷‍♀️ my 22 yr old, can’t meet someone his age ,they either have a bunch of kids, diff dads,or they want him to make at least 800,000 a year to even talk to them🙄, monsters sure find a way to get into a family though, evil…✌🏻

My stepfather did exactly the same thing with my mother and I. When my mother unexpectedly was hospitalized I wasn’t informed until it was too late. He would not allow an autopsy. He was married six months later. He took her out of the hospital long enough to sign over a house and property she own that he was not on. She died three days later. I try not to hate anyone but this guy is as close to that as I get. I miss my mom every day.

For anyone interested, "48 Hours" did an episode on this guy called "The Accidental Husband". It was a re-enactment style episode. Season 28 Episode 26. I watched it a few years ago and it was a fascinating and riviting story. Just lucky his third wife's father was suspicious of everything he did and said. He most likely saved his daughter's life.

My theory is that these people are so controlling of their partners because they're so vile they couldn't get anyone to willingly stay with them. So once they ensnare someone, they start micromanaging their entire lives so they can't leave, because if the person spoke to someone outside of their bubble they'd realize how despicable and dangerous the abuser is and get them out.

What a horrible, horrible person. Controlling people are so miserable to be around. She must've been under so much stress and probably had constant worry about things being just so for the manbaby. Always carping, demanding, throwing tantrums and guilt tripping. Nobody should be able to command others like that, to take everything, make all the rules. Then lashing out fatally when people catch on. Truly monstrous.

Indeed. I CANNOT understand how people (men and women) know someone for such a short amount of time (9 month in this case) and then marry them. It just seems like a recipe for disaster. People will show their true colours if given enough time and stressful circumstances. It is too big a risk otherwise IMHO.

I recall this from a couple episodes elsewhere . The first accident seemed like such an obvious case of murder it ridiculous police didn't catch it. While someone can have a good education and great career. Doesn't indicate intelligent . Contradiction in terms. Many successful people have been easily manipulated by their partners . I am bottom of the barrel but I would never tolerate being cut off from family or told what and when I can do something. I cannot even imagine such a ridiculous schedule for a child. Hopefully this guy likes the strict schedule someone else has forced upon his sorry arse now.
