I am always amazed by the brazen act of cutting a tent and snatching a child. How do they know a child is in that tent and they would be right there? 🤷♀️ Why do we sleep next to the material and not in the center? Rhetorical . Baffling.

@@tessaducek5601 It's not a mystery. The video said he'd likely been observing them using binoculars from a nearby ridge and presumably learning their habits. There were three children in the tent - he wanted one of the kids, I doubt it mattered which was closest. Further, why would we need to think about where in a tent we sleep? There is a very low percentage of instances where this would be of concern. It's not baffling at all, really. IMO

My wife and I owned a small house near Manhattan in 1972, isolated at that time. Meirhofer was staking out the house and my guess at the time is that he was going to try and kill us. Trouble is, we kept the doors locked at night. One night he was frustrated and started pounding on the door. I had no guns, but was poised with a woodsman's hatchet in case he broke in. Surely, if I'd opened the door too soon he would have shot me and the wife would have been defenseless. I remembered his face well, but the newspaper photos weren't good enough to be sure, but when I saw photos of him on these youtube videos, yep, dat was da dude. Aside from the young innocent people losing their lives to this Monster, another heartbreaking part of this case was the fact that Sherriff Andy Anderson had to go through the vilification (Is that the correct word?) of negligence in the death of the man who didn't deserve to be breathing the same air as him. After all the hours, loss of sleep, worry, painstakingly searching and investigating these cases. Then losing the job that he put so much effort into for his community, he should have been thanked, rewarded, awarded, hailed a hero as the whole team deserved for all the hard work put in, let alone the emotional toll. Finally, when dinner time came and went without a single second of appreciation for his fatherhood, he snapped. He loaded up his hunting rifle and killed his wife and children. When he told the police that he murdered his family because they failed to wish him a happy Father’s Day, they broke the tragic news to him that Father’s Day wasn’t until the following Sunday. Even better with party lines! 🙄
I have been waiting for this one. I grew up in Manhattan, MT. Something weird that happened in Manhattan the early 2000's, posters claiming a lady in town could recover repressed memories implanted by aliens started popping up. Of course she disappeared a few months later, leaving a trashed house, full of spoiled food and dog feces. (She was breeding huskies in a house with a super small yard) Turns out she had picked that particular house because one of the previous occupants was David Meirhofer. And just a nitpick, but it's pronounced Meyer-hofer. Source: my family knew Cliff.

This was an amazing coverage of this case. I've heard others coverage and yours is most definitely top notch. Keep it coming! I love your content!
Wow, I immediately thought of the casserole. I can’t imagine how those people felt after hearing about the body parts. Just the possibility that they ate part of a girl they were looking for is like forcing them to be the monster he is.

Why would a police officer eat food prepared for them by a serial killer suspect
@JenniferG-sl4fi
10 ай бұрын
Technically he was only suspected of kidnapping one girl and he took the casserole to a church pot luck, not the police station and then prior to being a suspect at all but still after killing and freezing his victims meat, he had cooked and served meat dishes at different community gatherings many times. Remember this was a well liked average guy from the neighborhood....why would you not eat something he cooked when offered? Nobody knew of the freezer full of human meat until they formally searched his place. That was a shock to everyone involved at the time.

Hi ! Thanks for all your content and dedication. Love watching ☮️😁
Another great video Jiles ... Thank you for your time and effort you put into your video's. 👍🏻
You should put the words 'so called' before the words 'polygraph' and 'truth serum' as they don't directly work as the name suggests.
Thank you, your videos it's always. Makes my day ❤
I grew up in Montana in Missoula crime was not talked about and as a little kid then I was born in 64 I wouldn't have read any papers. I had no idea a little girl was killed in Missoula. This is the first I've ever heard about this killer. Makes me wonder what other crimes happened in my "sleepy city where no one locked the doors"
I have heard several camping murders like this one. My family loves to camp and i will NEVER camp the same way. Safety is paramount in a camp. Keeping a weapon close by to keep your family safe. Making sure your camp is strategic set up so tent occupants will be safe.
It sucks that the families were denied justice because the coward that took their loved ones was too scared to face the consequences of his abhorrent behavior. I hate that the Sheriff was ruined by this too. The mother of little Susie was a saint. Her beautiful soul is extraordinary and her capacity for forgiveness is beyond words. I hope she is able to help others who have suffered through the loss of their loved ones from violence get through their own trauma. I also hope that David is burning in hell as we speak and is getting his comeuppance.
I've had a shit weekend and boy has this made my day x much love to you and everyone else who loves you

Great job! I never have heard of this guy before. This might be your best video ever! I found it very interesting.

Kinda weird that Sandy's family was able to identify her underwear, considering she's 19 and living in her own apt. That has me scratching my head a bit..

The mom of Susie has serious issues. I don’t know which is worse actually to be angry or want revenge or to be so diluted that you think God to pick your daughter to be killed by a serial killer.

Thanks for pointing this out. I was like...what the F?! 🤬 She sure has some serious issues. I'd be heartbroken and furious if my child were murdered, for one. But getting to TALK TO and MEET their murderer is next level enraging. While I would comply with the police&FBI's orders as to how to communicate with the suspect - once he's caught and proven to be the killer... Man I'd wish HELL on that sick motherfucker. No "forgiveness", let alone the *absolute* betrayal of my own child by after her gruesome murder. Nope! Poor Susie🥺💜

I guess it was her way of coping with this massive tragedy of losing her daughter. It almost sounds like she disassociated and had to "blame" "g-d" for her daughters disappearance. She couldn't deal with the fact that she put her four smallest kids in a tent too far away from her own in the dead of night.
You have a true talent of telling the story. You keep me engaged and on the edge. Your voice has the depth and draw of Orson Wells, and the tone of despair on just the right level. Even though it is never a story we want to hear, I never pass a Monsters post. Thank you.
I'm saving ALL of Somewhere Sinister for my upcoming flights! Your familiar voice, all the ominous topics from all the random places.... You bet it'll be a great flight!

The next one is When Flying Goes Wrong 😢
Both of your shows are awsome. You tell these stories in an amazing voice and pace. Just one peice of advice. In the last story you kept saying the perpetrator would fire a sawed off shot gun and the bullet would hit so and so causing such damage. A hand gun, rifle or Assualt rifle use and shoot bullets. A shotgun uses cartridges and shoots tiny pellets called shot, bird shot or even rock salt. A bullet enters a person making a tiny hole but then tumbles and spins around inside you. Sometimes if someone has cut a T or X in the top of a flat/blunt bullet they come apart in several peices. If the gun/bullets gun powder is powerful enough to pass through you the hole on the other side will be a far bigger tear or rip due to the spinning bullet. The bigger the bullet the bigger both holes. A .22 caliber is actually so small people have been known to not even know they have been shot till much latter. A .50 cal will create a hole the size of a quarter going in and the size of a dinner plate going out and still have enough power to enter someone behind you. A shotgun shooting hundreds of tiny pellets that spread out as they fly further away. Are devastating no mater how far away you are. Even a poorly aimed shot can hit you since 40 feet away the size of the spread out shot will be about 3ft on diameter. A sawed off shot gun is so deadly because just 3ft away the shot will be spread out as much as 4 1/2 ft. A sawed off will spread shot so much that it will not hurt at all if you are say 200ft away.
This is the best true crime channel there is. Amazing how much detail you go into. Please keep it up. We're loving it!
