I lived a few doors down from Nancy and Elaine at the time and I can almost guarantee you the motive was sexual assault. I had an incident happen just before or just after Elaine’s murder, I was very young and was standing at my kitchen sink washing dishes to the right of me was a back door , Something drew my attention to the knob to that door and it was turning . As my husband had walked to the store near us I thought perhaps he was playing a joke on me . I yelled out and called out his name and said “ if it’s you you better say so because I have a knife “ I heard nothing so as I was frightened I went to our front door I saw my husband up the street , I stood their waiting until he came through the front door . He walked through to the kitchen and flipped on the back yard light . He saw someone running past a shed we had in the back yard , We called the police and they came out but of course the person was gone . I’ve never forgotten about that my whole life I am 63 now .

I thought ripping a phone book in half was an impressive show of strength...man, it's unsettling to think the guy was so strong that the police had to get assistance to remove the fireplace poker from around her neck. Unfortunate how the most arbitrary and often brutal killers are the ones that get away with it for decades.

I just have to say I love both of you channel. My children and I have a monster in our lives. We'll sorta. I was with a monster for 10 yrs. When I feld with my babies we got him put in prison. We began to call him the monster. As none of us wanted to even say his name. Anyways shortly before he got out I found your podcast. I laughed and started listening. Keep up the good work. Sinister is a great one as well. Thank you so much.

I hope you have taken measures to prevent him from finding you. A lot of those monsters don’t give up. I once got a restraining order against a really dangerous man. It was in effect for one year. The day after it expired, he came back!! I had to go back to court, and with the help of local police, got the order made permanent. Never saw him again.

Wait...Dr. Flowers was concerned that the person who killed Elaine might break into his office with the stolen keys so he changed the locks? Why not stake out the office for a few weeks before doing that in case the killer DID try to break into his office???? Seems like a simple way to attempt to catch this dude.

Jules, I wish you'd do a season on South African murders, especially Henri van Breda, if you thought the 911 call in the Josh Powell case was shocking, you should listen to the 10111 (our 911) Henri made a couple of hours after the murders. I emailed you a couple of years ago, to let you know of you ever needed some insider information about some high profile female murderers in South Africa, I met some of them in prison.

By the way, I translated "fire stick" and I thought I was wrong, it must be something else since it's impossible to think someone could have the strenght to bend it around a neck....it's quite shocking, I'm so sorry for Gwendolyn and all her struggle trying to escape from this monster!!!! 😔 PS: I really don't believe he is crazy.
