The Botched Investigation Into The Grindr Killer

When young gay men began turning up dead in East London, all having overdosed on GHB, the police assumed it was a coincidence. It took four deaths before they started to realize that someone was killing these men and that he wasn't going to stop.

11:33 My God, what did the officers “investigating” this need?? The killer did it twice, dumping the bodies in the same place and no one but the poor old lady walking her dog thought it might be sus?? What the heck?!

Tyler - In fact, just this past month, this same old lady found three more bodies, one per week, in the graveyard where she was walking her little dog "Sniffypoo" to take another pee (he has bladder problems and prefers to pee on fresh graves with nice clean dirt on top, so she takes him there every 2 hours or so). Autopsies on the three new corpses revealed that GHB had been introduced into their bodies by way of tiny bites from a drugged-up dog, and police have taken Sniffypoo in for questioning by a veterinarian. So far, Sniffypoo has barked sharply, evidently to deny any association with drug dealers, especially old lady drug dealers. Strange, I know, but you have to agree that this time the British police have acted much more quickly and efficiently than we normally expect them to do. AND the little old lady has a new pet, a parrot named Hush-hush, who she's not going to take on walks anywhere at all, least of all graveyards, though she still visits graveyards "for the view," she says. For some reason the parrot keeps saying, "I know what you did, I know what you did," but police have insisted that this is a "pure and inexplicable coincidence," and if we can't trust the British police to know what's going on, who will we end up trusting? A parrot? 👮🏻‍♂️🦜☠️

Right? "didnt do any forensic testing on the sheet he was wrapped in" because it was a suicide. WHAT? So how tf do they think a man killed himself, then wrapped his own dead body in a sheet? With a note that says "Oh yeh, dont bother the guy I was with last night..." Its almost brutally obvious they just didn't really care.

It seems to be a common theme around the globe. When the authorities are investigating crimes against the homosexual community and sex workers. They seem to take a very lax approach and don't seem to put much effort into their investigations. Until of course, the families of the victims and the public start demanding a more thorough approach to the investigations. This guy got away with way more than he should have for way too long. The people who knew him already claimed that he was a sketchy man. The police had criminal records of the guy. Not to mention that he seemed to be linked to all of the crimes and lived in the vicinity. Another really effed up individual that was allowed in society for way too long! I always enjoy your presentation and the remarks you make. (You know, the stuff that most of us are thinking in our heads) I will hold my breath until the next one. Thank you again for content that is worthy and not just more filler and junk food for the brain.

I was drugged when I worked as a bartender in a strip club. I was surrounded by friends and security so I don't know how the person thought they would succeed in getting me alone. But I knew within a minute that something was very wrong after taking a shot. I could feel my vision going dark. My hearing going to a hollow, tinny sound. I turned and walked directly to the restroom and was followed by friends who could immediately see I was not okay. I collapsed inside the door of the bathroom and my friends never left my side. When you're dosed you can hear and understand everything happening but you're unable to physically move your head, arms, or legs. It's like being almost paralyzed. It happens so fast that you need to tell someone within that minute or you're in trouble. Somebody invented nail polish you can paint onto a fingernail, whether male or female, and dip your finger into your drink and it detects adulterants in your drink. Anybody who goes to clubs should take advantage of this simple, effective protection or give it to your loved ones who enjoy going out. It's an inexpensive way to ensure everyone's safety.

This story just infuriates me, awful lack of action by the police. Please could you look into the case of Denise Amber Lee, she even called the police herself when she was kidnapped and it still was not enough to save her. So sad.

Two things: • How many GHB overdose deaths do they get in that area that the coroner didn't say, "Hang on a minute! Is this _déjà vu,_ or didn't i see this recently?"? • I absolutely agree with Stephen Port's Full Life Tariff sentence. Just seems... _weird_ to me the folk who get _less_ than that for [what i think] are equally heinous crimes. I can't help but wonder if part of Port's sentencing was to... _"make up for"_ or diminish the crap job the cops did in this instance. _"No! No! We didn't have blinders on over this! The sexuality of the victims didn't preclude a proper investigation. I mean, Lookit: He got a harsher sentence than a lot of murderers do! Would that be the case if we were actually homophobic?"_ Seems to me the assaulted & the murdered were made victims _twice:_ Once by Port and then again by the cops. I hope the families find some peace.

The police thought they were "just" gay drug addicts so they weren't too keen to put a lot of footwork into the crimes. Side note: I'm glad to hear that the UK is finally instituting whole-life sentences. Some people will never be safe for the public when allowed to be free to their own devices.

What a mess ... And the whole time I'm thinking to myself "What about CCTV footage??!!" I'm not from the UK, but it's my understanding that CCTVs are everywhere there. You'd think that would be one of the first things checked!!! Smh.... My heart goes out to the family and friends of the young men killed. Such a tragedy and a shame.

It's a good idea to highlight LGBTQ+ cases as it likely occurs more often than we think. I remember seeing him on the show. Since GHB was the weapon of choice it should have stood out right away. It's not a substance I'd associate with overdose deaths. Yes, it's safe to assume that homophobia was an issue here.
