There are many videos about water cooling, but few of them really focus on draining loops. Well done!

A drain port was one thing I made sure to accommodate in my wife's original build. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding her loop to use copper tubing and a drain valve is still part of the plan. If you're building a custom loop, definitely add a drain valve in there somewhere. This is especially true since you should do your initial leak tests with distilled water instead of your coolant of choice.

That is a good point. Especially if you're going to be running a pre-mix that costs a lot (anything more than .99/gallon is a lot to me, since I just use distilled water lol)

***** Even if you're running a concentrated coolant, you should still do your leak testing with distilled water. Even if you live in an area where you have to have distilled water delivered to you because you can't just go to the nearby grocery store to find it, it's still likely going to be better doing your leak testing with distilled water than your coolant of choice.

Is there any colored coolant that won't clog up my blocks? I got my first custom loop on the way and it would look amazing with milky white fluid. I know Mayhems and EK make a white pastel concentrate I could mix with water and use. Also Ice Dragon makes a Nano fluid that is white and comes all premixed and ready. I really want to use one of these but have heard all coolants clog blocks and if you MUST have color use a dye or colored tubing.

If I drain like this can I just refill with distilled water and reboot up the entire system or do I have to let the water loop run on its own? Do I have to do something special to clean it or is it as simple as drain and refill?

Your tubing locks "foggy//milky" where it has been drained, is that normal ? If so will it disappear (i.e. get clear again) ? Or is that something that has "gone wrong" and could have been avoided? If so, how do You avoid it ? Thanks for Your great videos, best regards.

cool upload :@) if you have an M20 plug in a bay res, you can use an M20 fillport with a G1/4 thread in the middle and then use a G1/4 plug to seal it after you're done.

Very nice video, but this is part of the reason I don't do custom water cooling, as I don't have the time, and patience, but I am thinking about getting into some of the AIO CPU water coolers, but having a tough time finding a decent 92mm AIO water cooler for my small MicroATX case.

I use Quick disconnector so draining my tube is super easy, it's take my probably less than 5 minute to both drain and refill my loop.

i have an XSPC kit and my radiator doesn't have those drain ports like this kit. What are my options now, this is my first custom loop, i will have to drain it soon as i want to change the coolant water.

+Vince Phan ... You can add your own drain valve into your loop, just add fittings to allow your valve, Koolance makes an excellent quality valve, and other misc fittings here, koolance.com/products ...If you have any other DIY liquid cooling related questions, the guys from the video have a Q&A thread here in the mod zoo community forums here, themodzoo.com/forum/index.php/topic/1630-qa-for-guide-to-pc-water-cooling-video-series-by-themodzoocom/

dear bill . ive been wondering . does the coolermaster n600 have good watercooling options? and im new to a waterloops so would a good loob ( a 240 and a 280 ) for a amd 8350 worth it?

Mikkel Hansen, N600 is a great case for $89.99, I was really impressed with it, but if you're interested in liquid cooling, and think you may wanna expand into dual loop someday look at the slightly larger NZXT H440 or Phanteks Enthoo Pro, $20 - $30 more depending on availability in your region... the N600 limits you to 240/280 in the top only, and the N600 lacks over head space, so after market radiators may not clear DDR on some motherboards, depending on type of radiator you install. You should be OK with the thinner AIO radiators in the N600, like H100 etc...... If you have any more questions about cases or liquid cooling, please share them in our forums, themodzoo.com/forum/

Thanks for the reply. I have created a custom cross-desk for my system (Without foreseeing such problems) and have created a distilled water-cooled rig. But now, I want to drain it and refill the liquid, but I just can't seem to figure out how to do it. I can't just tip the whole table! I weights over 200 pounds (Made with 2-inch thick teak boards and lined with aluminum plating).
