Singularity Computers Water-cooling Guide: Part 1

Ғылым және технология

All my build logs contain a massive amount of water-cooling information but I have been wanting to do a guide to cover every single step of building a water-cooling system from start to finish in detail. This guide is for beginner to intermediate water-coolers. I didn't cover choosing components for your water-cooling system in this guide because I'm going to do another guide on that coming up. I have included comparative performance, temperature and noise output results in this guide to show the benefits of a water-cooling system.

Hey Daniel, thx for this vid. I just have one question, You speak about components order and especially the fact that it does not really matter, i noticed in your build log that most of time coolant (except maybe Nighthawk and sb2 ) always hits the cpu block before the gpu block, is this a rule? if i assume components order is not critical, is there any issue to cool the gpu before the cpu? thx

Did you mod the case to fit the 200mm rad in the front and what did you use to mount the 18cm fan on it? I'm thinking of setting up a similar loop in my 650D but I'd rather not take a dremel to it. Great videos btw, you definitely inspired me to try watercooling for myself. I'm running non-reference cards though (MSI 6950 TwinFrozr3) so no fullcover blocks. Any chance of a video on installing just a GPU block and heatsinks, or would you just recommend selling them and getting a reference card?

Great vid as usual mate, What are your thoughts on using 7/16" tubing and 1/2" barbs? I tried this on my latest build as I personally prefer the aesthetics of barbs over compression fittings but I'm not a fan of the clamps. This way the hosing is so tight over the barbs I didn't need to use clamps.

Great video for begginers. What do you think about using half inch barbs with 3/8 inch tubing and not using clamps? Just putting the end of the tubing in hot water and putting it on the barb so when it cools down it makes a seal.

Well I've used AS5 for a fair few years now and I find that staining the integrated heat spreader with a dab of TIM and spreading it on with tissue paper. Most TIM ends up on the paper, however you will see some colour change. At this point the TIM is in the tiniest cracks on the IHS. That's just cut down the break in time by a huge factor. Then just apply a rice sized dot in the middle and job's done :D

15:57, what are those called? I want to use those in my 650D build. I'm going to have that same reservoir with same clamps and ek uniholds too. From the res->Mcp655 pump->GTX 780->120mm Rad->XSPC raystorm watercooling cpu block->EX240 Crossflow Radiator because i want to make it more clean i guess even though its like a V, this is what i believe it will look like then it'll go back down to res. Is that a good setup? What i meant by V is: tubing from 120mm rad rear to cpu block then to top rad240

One tip for cutting tubing is to always leave more than you need after cutting. That way you can check to make sure it reaches and then cut accordingly. Can be a pain if you have to throw tubing away because you cut it too short.
