    CPU stays nie and cool (around 40) and the GPU I have is a EVGA 560TI 448 FTW and it gets to around 77 on big games like BF3. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me the advice. KZread (and the world) is so full of hateful jerks so a nice person is a rarity. I had already considered uping the fan, and the cooling I will monitor. If you ever get an alienware I will say they are very nice, and ebay got me a killer deal, but the tech support is non exsistant! Much respect!

    I designed my loop so my reservoir can be detached and tilted upside down. It starts a flow that allows me to drain via the siphon effect. When the siphon effect is complete there is a small amount remaining, just beyond the pump, and sometimes a little left in the radiator, though that is rarely an issue. --The loon

    Thanks for the info. You were right it is for the CPU only, but like I said I am new to the liquid cooling. What does a closed loop look like? If you google the ALX alienware liquid cooling mine looks just like the images shown of the two black tubes going to and from the CPU. Thanks again!

    It is still doable, but little awkward with my 800D and 700D cases, but after I will build my XSPC H1 case that may be a real challenge to flip it with three triple rads. :))

    Mike Mays Hey, I'm building my first loop by ordering a complete water cooling set from alpha cool as well as an EK GPU block. The only part I'm confused about is the quick disconnect or drain valve. I want one that I can use to be able to drain my system easily. I'm confused about which one to order because they say like male\make or female and they require other components to work. Could you suggest what I should buy for easy draining of my loop? Like I said I have the whole loop picked out except the drain valve or quick disconnect, whichever you think is better.

  • @MikeDMays

    @MikeDMays

    Oh man I wish I could help you out but we are in the middle of a move and I don't have access to all the pc stuff. There are a ton of ways to do what you are wanting. I have a female end on my drain outlet that works like a air hose I just plug the male end into it and the male end has about 2 feet of hose and I have a cut off valve installed on the end of the hose to avoid any spillage. Only thing I have to watch is when I unplug.

  • @TheChurchofCacti

    @TheChurchofCacti

    Mike Mays The confusing part is most the drain valve's don't work just by themselves. You have to add like a T splitter on them too. I'm thinking I'll just buy a Koolance quick disconnect and put it on my lower point component. From there I can disconnect the tubes without spilling, put the tube over a bucket, and remove the quick disconnect so the water flows out into the bucket. I'll probably also order one of these T-Blocks which as three holes, two of the water to flow through and a third for a plugged drain port to be installed. I'm sure the components will make more sense once their in my hands.

    Do you have to open the fill port (if on top of the case) to let the water drain out your drain tube (if on the bottom of the case)? Otherwise wouldn't a vacuum form lessening the ability to drain the system?

    (part 2) if you then realize its going to higher temps than before, you should either buy another one, or try to unassemble it yourself and replace the coolant and maybe try to get the cpu block rinsed, but i can say that it should take a VERY long time before that is needed. Also, i dont know how good the fans are on the alienware cpu RAD, but i recomend upgrading if your temps get above 70C, because the LAST thing you would want is for liquid to boil in a closed environment

    well im not sure if thats the right term for it, what i mean is that the cooling system is manufactured and comes set up stock, kind of like the corsair H-50/70/90 liquid cooling systems, you just buy them, they come set up, you just have to install them and never worry about them again. im sure that EVENTUALLY, the performance will dwindle little by little, and when you begin to notice that your CPU is overheating (if you dont monitor your temps, i HIGHLY recomend you start doing so)

    Funniest technique ever. My Case would be impossible.. it weights almost 50 kilos. Also.. with all the loops and disks, you could have broke something with the turn over of the case. You should use a hospital can with tubes. You squeeze and the can sucks the water,... then you blow air in the tubes..and squeeze again. There a lot of techniques but yours was new to me. Never tought of it. It also looks bad for your equipment. imagine if you cant grab it wisely... :) cool video altough

    You would think siphoning, either manually or with the right equipment, would be easier on you and your equipment. Especially for heavy cases, especially for heavy cases that use plastic front/top panels that could crack under the weight. Would only suggest manual siphoning if its plain distilled water though, additive stuff is probably rather toxic. Shouldnt be a prob since the best route is distilled water with kill coils anyway.
