After 3 years why no marriage visa? Is your marriage a sham to try to get viewers? You are so wrong about things. 7 days on the bank statement. You failed on your visa run a few months ago. You don't need the ฿400k with marriage visa. Why don't you know these things?

@@bigfoot9840 You do need 400k in a bank for a minimum of 2 months for an extension of stay based on marriage - not for the marriage visa itself. Basically you get a marriage visa and then as it's about to expire you can get the extension of stay. This can be repeated indefinitely. The video is about an extension of stay based on marriage, rather than the initial marriage visa itself.

@@bigfoot9840 You need 400K baht for a marriage visa and 800K for a retirement visa. The money must be in a bank for at lease three months before you apply and it has to stay in the bank at lease two months after you get the visa.

They actually send 3 people out to our house every year for the last 10 years. Same guys, they take yet another picture of us in front of the house number and our neighbor has to verify that we've been living here for 29 years. Ridiculous but then this is Thailand. We invite them in every year but they always stand outside. Everyone is always very polite.

I'am on a retirement extension this year and I had 7 immigration officers come to my house to check everything, they were invited inside but declined our offer.

@oldmanJ yes, they even politely decline our offer of something to drink. Honestly, I have never had a problem with Pattaya immigration. We do the extension ourselves with the help of our niece. They are quite strict with paperwork, but there has never been a real problem. As soon as we finish, we put together the documents for the following year, then just update the bank statement and pics. Also, you don't actually have to have 400,000 baht in the bank for the marriage visa, but you have to have certified statements for 16 month of money being transferred along with a copy (no need to certify) of the social security benefits letter showing the monthly transfer amount. Usually takes about 30 minutes from start to finish. I hear from friends that it is a lot easier in other places like Prachuab Khiri Khan and obviously far fewer people than in Pattaya. It takes us longer to drive to Pattaya the the visa document reiew.

Hi Richie For future appointments, Phuket Immigration now have an online appointment booking system which works. I booked this year for the one year extension, walked to the counter next to the volunteers, and we were taken straight in. And yes it is easier to get the Kor Ror 22 ahead of time, think they are valid for a month. 😊

I feel your pain. I went yesterday. I got a ticket, but had to do the notification first. When we finished two hours later there were no spots anymore because about a hundred Chinese tourists had arrived in the meanwhile. So my wife has to take another day off just to go wait at immigration with me and show her face.

Since we left Phuket for Krabi province, we have found the visa process a lot less stressful. The officer in charge remembers us and said that as I have a yellow book, Thai ID card, and over 800,000 baht in the bank, that if I changed from a marriage visa to a retirement visa, he could issue it on the spot. 5 minutes later I left with a 'multiple entry' retirement visa, didn't need half the photocopies, pictures, letter from owner of the land, and no video call. Bugger.😂

It is much easier if you can afford it to have 800,000 in a Thai Bank Account. This message is also for other people to know. Just in case they don't have a Thai wife. Or with Thai wife.

The retirement visa is a lot less hectic yet you should consider it. Good luck in your endeavors.

Just put 800k on the bankaccount and apply for retirement visa Non O and you get it in 10 min. No pictures , No interviews , no talking with the neighbours. It is worth it !

Hi Richie, having lived in Phuket { in Kata } for 4 years, i have experienced this debacle at Immigration, I eventually found it was easier to pay an Immigration Agent to do the renewals, the fee to the Agent gets shared with an Immigration officer and it is all done in a couple of hours, no hassle. On Phuket Town i found one of the best nightclubs was Timber Hut, live music by great musicians, local Thai girls after work on Friday nights, great food, great atmosphere, give it a go.

The last time I renewed my retirement visa I was asked to do a video call with the immigration officer so that he could see the inside of our place. I've been living here in Phuket town at the same place since 2017, it's very convienant living here.

Many immigration offices have different rules,some not so tough and some just plain ridiculous, that's why some use an agent particularly the first time

We miss to paper and did not get our married visa, we try tomorrow again.

That's crazy and very very difficult. Dumb Thai law and make harder to farang. Nothing like this in Japan. I living in Japan for 5 years, married to Japanese and easy to get a residence card, easy paperwork, just fill it out, photo and no problem. Renewal residence card every year.

What happens the day after ? Did you get your visa ?

This is an extension to a visa rather than an actual visa. Visas can only be obtained from outside of the country. The extension can then be made annually, to extend it for another year.

Actually, you can come in on a 90 day visa and after 2 months do the whole thing from inside the country.. then you have to extend everyvyear.

We got a marriage visa here last year in Phuket from a visa exemption entry. We also got a non B investment visa in the country with no issues when it was time to start a business. No Agent needed but was a nightmare with paperwork

If you get a work permit through your business, your salary counts as your income, so need to keep the 400k tied up in the bank. Just show proof you have paid tax for the last 3 months before applying, on a salary equal to 40k THB a month (although needs to 50k min to get work permit). You also get SSO healthcare, which is superior to the NHS. Just need 2 employees for 3 months, show you've put at least 250k into the business, and make yourself international marketing manager. Job done

First time applying for marriage visa do a deal with an agent let them put you right Im pretty sure they only come your house first time applying It's no hardship wotever if immigration ask for something just oblige under no circumstances don't argue

I have been dating a Thai woman since 2019. We tried to get married in 2022. But embassy sign ups, and then getting your marriage registered in a province took too long. Plus we found out last Jan. 2023 that if a Thai woman has children she must have a divorce first before getting married. But she never got married, but one of her 2 children is underage, 16 years old. So we had to postpone our marriage again. In Sept and Oct. we will try again after getting the custody papers that she needed for her daughter. Just beware if your Thai lady has children she must get a divorce first even if they never married,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
