Congratulations to you and your beautifiul Thai wife.

My wife and I did the same thing 5 years ago, but my wife is very tight, and as a Yorkshire man we both agreed not to use an agent! Everything went smoothly except for one thing, it was August and when we told them we have planned the ceremony for the following February, they said no, you only have 1 month to go to the registry office!! So we had to go to the office in Kathu Phuket and got officially married 5 months before the wedding. Downside 2 wedding anniversaries! 😂

You can also get a UK marriage certificate via the British Embassy if you like or atleast I did in 2006

I am currently trying to help my friends get married in Thailand (they are both UK nationals) and this was very helpful Are you able to confirm, did the Department of Consulate Affairs/Ministry of Foreign Affairs also translate the affirmation document for you as well as 'legalizing' it? (online guidance seems to say you have to visit a third place in between to get it translated before legalized)

No. You have to do the translation process yourself . Go to do it near the victory monument.

I cannot travel to Philippines without 💉. My girl cannot travel to the US because immigration is not easy. Her solution was to get married in Thailand. I've found the consulate on google maps. That sounds WAY easier. How much time does it take? I am still in the planning phase...if we can get it done in a hurry, I might even arrange a side trip to Phuket. It looks a lot more my speed than Bangkok (I am Alaskan, it is very chill)

Hi Richie/Maybelle I am Thai (lived in UK since a baby) I do have a Thai ID card and passport as well as my British passport. My partner is British. Is there anything we can do over here in the UK (paperwork) before we get to Bangkok? We are coming to Thailand in Jan 2024 and our first stay at the beginning of the 5 week holiday is only 3 days, so we are concerned we won't have enough time to get married then before we move on to Krabi. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

When I got married in Thailand is was so much easier to have an agent do it. Although when I tried to get my marriage certificate in the UK 20 years later they couldn't find it. But they had it in Thailand as my daughter is applying for her Thai nationality. Seems Thailand is more ifficient lol

Hi thank you glad you are enjoying 😁 well the people I have met that have come in now all have been on different visas. One retirement one business one elite. My advice would me to go speak to a visa agent, they will know what’s the best visa to get in on. Funny enough I haven’t met anyone coming on the special tourists visa 🤷‍♂️ A good visa agent can get you in people are coming.

No you have to just land there and refuse the hotel quarantine and walk out airport if they illegallku arrest you, then you will be released on obviously no charges because covid everything is an illegal corrupt gov coup....

Yes it’s changed i spoke to the British embassy in Thailand and then transferred to someone in the UK and they reassured me 100% it is now recognised. I’ll do some more looking but from what I read it changed around 2018

I believe they will if it’s officially from embassy but I would check with the embassy first. Plus you will have to get it translated once you are here

If you want to stay in Thailand if you marry a Thailand national woman. Thailand has financial requirements for the man stay in Thailand with his wife? I think I read you must have proven income of at least 40k THB or a certain amount of money in a Thailand bank?

Hi sorry I really wouldn’t know I believe it’s possible to marry in other countries many people do it, travel to other destinations to marry happens all the time. Best to check with your country and the place you want to marry in
