I feel this comment is kinda necessary. If you disagree with my opinions that's completely fine. I'd rather people not go around claiming criticisms towards choreography or characterisation are nitpicks, as that implies those are not important elements to an animation, but trying to stop them is a meaningless endeavour. I do acknowledge that I should have made it clearer that I do still like the episode overall, but what's done is done. To make it extra clear, I still think it's a good episode. And if you disagree with my opinion and are respectful about it then that's completely ok and anybody who tells you otherwise is not worth listening to.

Everything you've bought up in this review holds merit. While this episode missed out on a lot of potential, I can acknowledge as well that it has its high points, which makes it a good episode among the other episodes of Season 10. I do hope the Death Battle team takes the criticism to heart and continues to improve their craft.

If I’m being completely honest, I agree with you. The characters mostly didn’t feel like they were on a large scale and the way they talked was very strange, especially after finding out that’s not how they talk in the source material. It just wasn’t really a fight that was on same level as Sauron vs Lich King or Goku vs Superman 3.

On its own I thought it was a very good episode, but it does kinda fall short when compared to some of the absolute bangers we've gotten this season. Not the worst of this season either by any means, but when you consider how long everyone has been waiting for this matchup to happen, it definitely feels like the final product had some missed potential. Overall I enjoyed it more than Thanoseid or Gogeta vs Vegito, but Popeye vs Saitama is still the GOATed season finale by a longshot.

I kinda expected the outcome, but I'm just glad more people know how OP Unicron is. Most people legit don't know who he is beyond "planet sized robot" , plus it was nice to see the ultimate big bad of the Transformers universe finally go all out, something he rarely gets to do in his own universe.

The one point of defense to Unicron being so talkative or *Into the fight* is the idea that he knows who Galactis is and WHAT Galactis is. Killing Galactus being the death of the otherwise infinte Marvel universe.

I think they were also trying to go for a similar interaction that he gets with primus, which is when unicron gets the most personal about anything, basically saying that galactus is now an equal to unicron and someone so powerful the chaos bringer would have to fight him like his ultimate opponent and eventual destroyer, his brother

It’s kind of a weird coincidence that Brent Mukai and Wolf Williams were both criticized for being hard to understand in their previous episodes (as Geese and Apocalypse) and then both feature in an episode where both combatants are criticized for being hard to understand.

This is the first time I ever had to turn on Closed Captioning for a Death Battle, because I had absolutely no idea what they were saying 90% of the time. It was very distracting having to replay scenes midfight trying to figure out what was being said.

To be fair, part of it is also the production schedule. Episodes in the latter half and the end tend to have the biggest budgets and time to be polished up. And with how large in scale this fight was and how expected it is, it makes sense they would put it at the end even if it doesn't feel like much of a finale

Well, I would also say that on top of the fight looking amazing, the fight is also quite creative. The compressing of a star into a black hole, the Nullifier recreating the aspect ratio, Unicron taking over the Nullifier, etc. There are a lot of really good ideas. The real problem is that these ideas are done like as if they were checking items off a list, and none of these ideas are given any time to breathe. I think this episode is pretty good. Still though, I don't think it lives up to the standard of this season of DB, because this season was nuts.

Wouldn't Unicron acting invested with the fight make sense when he's fighting what is basically his and Primus' sole equal?

I’d say the two characters that death battle didn’t do so well characterizing was unicron and makima. Funnily enough they’re both characters who are usually cold and objective, but ruined them by giving them TOO much character

Tbf , and I think that is a bit of a case, I love roleplaying and especially other characters, normally from other anime. And cold, objective and stoic characters are actually hard to use in say those kind of crossover events. Especially for people who might not know these characters. Also their overall personalitys would clash so hard against those with more personality (e.g. Galactus and Gojo).

All-Consuming (The Track for this Episode) is like a better version of Mind Over Matter with the brilliant lyrics of FireBorn.

So this review unintentionally got a few chuckles out of me with the thought of Galactus and Unicron in a Disney musical. For my rankings it’s right down the middle for me above Frieza vs Megatron and below Rick vs The Doctor

Now tbh most of my knowledge of Unicron comes from TFP and the OG movie, and from what I remember I thought Unicron was in character, I loved his "true immortality" monologue and his Transforming line. IMO I thought they described Unicron perfectly, and while he lost made him more terrifying than Galactus and tbh Unicron carried the episode for me.

It's entirely possible they just did not get Unicron, sometimes you miss the forest for the trees and you see something others don't or miss what others see.

This was one hell of a season, and the finale was the cherry on top. All good thing must come to an end, but that’s a good thing since Season 11 will hopefully continue the streak of having back-to-back banger seasons; it’ll probably be on the same par as this one, maybe even higher! But we’ll see.

If i had a nickle every time a death battle involving transformers where i enjoy the fight but nem actually finds alot of faults with the episode due to some issue with the personality given to the transformers character then I'd have 2 nickles which isn't alot but it is REALLY weird that it happened twice

If it helps, I think one of the more likely Transformers episodes for the future is Starscream vs Metal Face, which should avoid the pitfalls other Transformers matchups have fallen into. G1 Cartoon Starscream is the most popular version, the version best to fight Metal Face (So I'm told) and also stomps Metal Face unless you do something stupid like downscale him from Zanza; so there is almost zero reason to mash Starscream up with other versions.

Hi Nem I hope your day is going well I'm sending this message because I saw your video on your review on Galactus vs Unicron and I wanted to say my thoughts on it on a more personal level. This is regarding how you saw their use or misuse of Unicron in the fight. Now I get why you think Unicron is mischaractized in the fight, you've made yourself pretty clear in many videos on what you like about Unicron, his tie and factual existence as Entropy compared to Galactus, whose existence is to fight Entropy by consuming worlds and saving the Multiverse. In regards to this I understand why Unicron being portrayed the way he was in the episode seems out of character. But I think that may come from the fact that the episode didn't portray Unicron exactly as you wanted him to be. Now I get it, some episodes I have really wanted for a long time like Magneto vs Tetsuo, I did not like on first viewing because there were aspects of their characterization that I did not enjoy. Over time I did begin enjoying the episode more and more and realized that while I did not get the exact battle I wanted out of it, What I got was still really good and the episode still is the top 3 of that season for me. A lot of people enjoy Unicron for a variety of reasons outside of his existence as the force and concept of Entropy. One thing I was kind of sad to see not mentioned in your review was the segment about Orson Welles voicing Unicron in the 86 movie being brought up in the analysis. A lot of people really appreciate the historical significance of the character and thats what people like about the character. Or how parts you may not have liked, like the rhyming in the battle, were parts that people did like since it showed how old and cosmic both characters were similar to how Galactus vs All Father Odin was with the fact that their battle is so immense they fight through concepts, Ideas, and memories. While I am still glad that you did enjoy the episode overall, I hope you can start to change your mind on certain aspects about it after a couple rewatches, especially since I know some people are going to try to misconstrued your video as you hating on the episode like those other times. (P.S also if future transformers or other series you like get on the show, please don’t get upset at people not knowing surface level stuff about the series, as Sonic the Hedgehog is my favorite franchise, you would not believe the amount of people who don’t know that his entire character arc is based on a 12 year old getting murdered by a military force. It comes with the territory, some people just don’t know stuff but want to be part of the conversation lol.)

The second I saw this episode I was thinking "damn even though I love the episode, I feel like this will be a thanos vs darkseid type of episode for people"

Basically that while an enjoyable experience for me and most likely others because of the lack of using other parts of their kits Nem doesnt like it. To which the community will sometimes change their opinions on an episode due to the review. Even though this is to a far lesser degree than Darkseid vs Thanos since Nem does enjoy this one more. At least it seems like Nem and Biff are the ones that started that trend, because even if I do see channels review it nowadays and dislike it, it was nowhere near as prevalent when the episode initially came out.

I might be wrong but i remember Thanos versus Darkside having similar problems as in they were titanic in size but the impact that everything would have is missing. Also i like your ideas how to improve the fight. :)

As i was watching this episode, which i genuinely enjoyed btw, i couldn't help but think "yeah, Nem's gonna be disappointed overall by this." I want to note, i appreciate your reviews and you've gotten me to actually view deathbattle through a more critical lens, and i appreciate that honestly. Back to this episode, one point i think i disagree with on with you on, i thought the sense of impact was really well done in the fight. While yes, i agree the that the audio balance was off, the sfx for the blows had the gravitas of two cosmic beings beating the crap out of eachother. Solid inpact, thr destruction of celestial bodies, it did a much better job conveying the comsic scale of the battle than a lot of other similarly scaled battles.

I personally love the episode but my personal gripes with it are just that the sound mixing for their voices is really not great, and that most of the lines for the characters in the fight just blend in with each other, it’s just generic “ooh Im destruction guy” talk with odd rhyming for some reason. They don’t contrast each other enough. Which is a shame because Galactus being a necessary force of balance and unicron just being evil and chaos incarnate would make an interesting dynamic for the fight and they just…didn’t use it.

While I respect your opinion, I personally really liked this episode, bordering on loving it. Unicron somehow beat Chosen Undead for favorite analysis ever, with liking Galactus analysis as well. I do agree that they could've done more with the powers after Unicorn "Transforming" (which is a moment I also like, sorry that it was a cringe moment for you like with Optimus moment in his episode (although I'm not a fan of that moment either. I doubt Optimus would just look at purple lazer swords and automatically think Decepticon, but I digress)), and I could barely hear what their saying after "Transforming". I can't say anything about Unicorn's characterization due to the only knowledge I have of him before this episode and your prediction is just planet eater. The only reason Why I don't love it are the after mentioned problems, and not having a moment that stands out in the entire fight for me. What I mean by that is it doesn't have the same energy as "Finaly, KAAAMEHAAAAMEEEHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" "SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOOOOOO!" And "I promise, I'll kill them! All of them!! DOWN TO THE LAST ONE!!!" The closest for that to me is Unicron Transforming at the beginning, and "Transforming" I feel like this is an episode I will like more as time goes on, but as of now, probably ranks #4 of this season to me. And personally speaking worth the wait. Hopefully next season will be better for you, Nem. Happy Holidays to everyone reading this!

Hearing this honestly resonates with me cause thats how I feel with just about every Zelda episode, its especially bad with the last two episodes as I can't criticize or talk about why I don't like them without people throwing every vs buzzword at me or saying my opinion is wrong and its objectively peak or whatever, and it really burns me out and makes me question if I want the series back on anymore.

I think, the speed of their movements hitting a sweet spot for me.

pretty much. This episode had good visuals but it's just two big guys who can destroy universes. Lame. At least other multiversal fights had something else, like bill vs discord having a lot of creativity and use of their powers. Or vegeta vs thor that was more like a street level fight with a lot of variety of their powers and fighting styles. I do want to mention tho that Unicron being so talkative isn't *that* far off since he's not talking to a mortal, he's talking to another cosmic being who's beyond the concept of linear time and traditional forms of death. Granted this doesn't happen almost ever in Transformers since the only ones he would ever adress with ANY respect would be his brother Primus and their creator. And the rhyming honestly didn't bother me since both had some absolutely *cold* lines

Tbh I think the characters' analyses were actually pretty good. I really like how they explored the idea of "evil" and how that differs for both Galactus AND Unicron. They both explore the idea throughout the characters' analysis and the end of the analyses provide the answers to the original question. Galactus' comsumption of planets is because he NEEDS to survive and would not be able to otherwise. He is only "evil" insofar as, after becoming a god, he forgot what it was like being a human. Nature itself then is what seems truly evil. On the other hand, Unicron's existence is the concept of evil as all actions of violence give him literal life, and yes all these actions bring about their end. I'm not sure if I'd say it was the best, but I think more credit is deserved.

I'm asking with genuine curiosity: what interning abilities would you have added to the fight and how would using them play out?

I know this is likely to come from my inexperience with the character but i LOVED basically all of unicrons lines and it honestly got me hype

If it's any consolation, I don't know much about either of these characters and I feel like the episode was just kind of... okay. I didn't hate it or even dislike any particular part of it, the whole thing just felt kind of flat to me, barring a few stand-out elements. I thought the limerick/rhyme-off was maybe supposed to be symbolic of the two fighting beyond just their physical bodies, like they were fighting each other with metaphors and metaphysical ideas, a little like how, in Sandman, Dream of the Endless engaged in something similar to recover one of his items. Shame that was the only thing that gave that sort of feeling and I imagine it was just something I invented for myself.

Personally, I enjoyed the episode. While I do agree with some of the stuff that you brought up, specifically with the fight being too fast paced and Unicron being somewhat mischaracterized, specifically with the "I've won" line. However, everything else just works well for me. The analyses were really fun and really sold the eldritch side of them both, and they did go through Unicron's cosmology briefly with the Singularity aspect. And even then, the lack of Cosmology doesn't bother me here since they're very clearly focusing less on "how strong are they", and more on "what are they?". And the fight hits a lot of the notes that I like, even if... yeah, it was way too fast (seriously, why was FriezaTron's fight longer than this?). All in all, I enjoyed it.

A question I have is is there an example of two characters with the powers and scale of Galactus/Unicron or even Thanos/Darkseid that is done well? I find it weird that people complain they are moving too fast when they have ridiculous speed feats. Just because they are big does not mean they can’t move quick.

So I do agree with a good number of points Nem made about the fight. While I can’t comment on how Galactus or Unicron were handled, I’m very disappointed that a lot of the fight was just punches and big lasers. To me there are some really cool shots, particularly after Unicron grows really big, and just moving his arm is hoping entire galaxies out of existence. However, a lot of what’s going on feels like filler, and that everything that’s happening is supposed to build up to the Ultimate Nullifier. Which, to be fair, is usually what most fights do, especially if both opponents can’t take each other out by regular means. I think a great comparison is Bill vs Discord. The two go at it, throwing food around, warping reality, art style hopping (or whatever you’d call it), but it’s all kind of pointless until Discord goes into Bill’s mind to erase it. But unlike Galactus vs Unicron, Bill vs Discodd actually has a fun reason for it, with Discord slowly undoing the damage Bill’s done while keeping him occupied by matching him, only really going for the risky final blow until he’s certain he has Bill where he wants him, and his friends are safe in case the plan doesn’t work. Galactus vs Unicron just feels like it’s a fight for the sake of a fight before Galactus inevitably brings out the tiny “fuck off” cannon. Also, while I think Unicron possessing it and turning it against Galactus is cool, it feels out of nowhere. It may be something I’m unaware of, but how does Unicron know what the Ultimate Nullifier is capable of? Would he just have that knowledge by seeing it? If someone could tell me, that’d be much appreciated.

Yep, that is a completely valid take and I just fully agree. When I watched the episode I did think something was off just I couldn’t put my finger on it, but this is it you just identified the problem and I fully agree.👍 I still think however this is in my top three of this season regardless of the criticism. Before it was my second now I’m thinking probably third.

Tell me Nem, with how you felt about this matchup happening on Death Battle before the reveal and the problems the end result had, would you have perferred it never happened at all or was it still worth doing in the end even with its imperfections?

I respectfully disagree with your takes. I love the Rhyming. Edit: I guess I watched the episode with a different mindset because yeah All the issues everyone is having with it, I don’t have. I genuinely love the scale it reached, I loved the lines bouncing off each other like it was a poem, this was absolutely stunning to watch. The track is absolutely perfect and is exactly what I was hoping for. My only issue is it felt super short compared to Goku vs Superman last time but, hey what they did I really enjoyed and it’s my favorite of the season because of that

Honestly, from someone who knows really nothing besides their names. I was still really entertained by the fight and admittedly gave Death Battle leeway when in comes to the fight choreography because of how grand this fight is in scale. Now, I do understand where you're coming from with your criticism. Cause I certainly wouldn't be too thrilled if my favorite character got on Death Battle and wasn't portrayed well. Even if everything else about the fight is spectacular. So no worries mate

As someone who barely knows Galactus and knows even less on unicron, I felt something just wasn't hitting with this fight. Like the hype around it mad eme think it would be a huge spectacle but the actual fight just felt the same as a mid season fight. Goku vs Superman came off as more of a finite ending to the story it was telling, the saga of the trilogy of this fight, and would have been a nice touching way to eand the Season. However this, while grander in scale and seemingly better, was just a massive let down. Couples with the fact I didn't really care for the match up prior and found it actually happening disappointing, I tried to ignore that to be surprised. I wasn't underwhelmed... Just whelmed.

For these characters I completely agree with you Nem. The cosmology is indeed very important to describe these twos. That being said I don’t really need to define the strength of goku punch the exact amount of times flash is faster than light the amount of walls James Bond can break with his hands etc. This stuff I find pointless cause the writer doesn’t even have the answer. Sometimes things are left purposefully vague for the rule of cool.

You know this is an honest review when nem is geeking about how unicron was portrayed in this fight. Either way good review

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought the vocals for the track had a very strong Nier feeling to it.

This entire review feels very validating! From the first time I saw it, to now, I thought the episode was kind of boring. Yes it looks stunning, but that’s genuinely everything it has going for it. Seeing a big laser and big punch can only be so interesting for so long.

that's how most episodes where beings just destroy a galaxy png, pretty boring. I prefer street fight level battles. Even vegeta vs thor, despite them bieng able to destroy universes, had a much more dynamic street level fight which made it better

As soon as I realized the Unicron/Galvatron bit was a Gfuel ad I legally couldn't not watch it twice.

We should've just gotten a Gurren Lagann death battle instead. It would've worked great imo. Gurren Lagann is about defying the limitations of humanity, achieving greater than yourself, and killing the very concept of oppression itself. That's the complete antithesis of what Unicron is and their mirroring themes would've served for an incredible story and dialogue in the death battle itself. I'm not a big power scaler so idk how even the fight would be, but it seems theyre both beyond multiversal so it could've been nice haha

Thing is this is the tenth season so they wanted to end it big. And I don't think either Gurren Laggan matchups have as much legacy or history as Galactus vs Unicron.

I'm with you. I like cosmology for more than vs stuff, its a shame people only see it for fight scaling.

So wait...why is there a Kamen Rider world in the mix with the Marvel multiverse? I don't recall them doing a crossover with Marvel before. Or is it just because of Japanese Spiderman?

I’ll start by saying I didn’t know much about Unicron going into this (basically just your how big is Unicron video, and I think one of his cartoon appearances when I was much younger). So ultimately, my opinion on how he was analyzed and represented just isn’t as informed or as important as yours. I’m glad I wasn’t alone in finding the fight l janky, noisy, and repetitive. I didn’t comment on it on the DB itself, because reading through all the comments talking about how good it looked I thought I was just imagining things. There was a weird lack of consistent momentum in so many places: when Galactus knocked Unicron away, then Unicron just seemed to teleport in front of him to grab and kick him; when Galactus brushes the star away and it speeds up; when Galactus gets cut in half and his top half goes flying, only to instantly jump to a close up where the background is completely still. Once they went to intergalactic scale, I noticed a lot less of it, but at that point I was honestly paying a lot more attention to the background than the actual fight. I wasn’t completely sure what was happening with the nullifier on my first watch through, the spark hijacking and final beam from the nullifier didn’t feel very special next to all the other beam exchanges in the fight. I also just didn’t realize they were talking half the time. I don’t have the best earbuds, but it’s almost never been this bad. The impact sounds were also limp. Regarding the analyses: I agree with you on Galactus, fairly good, too obvious a focus on the nullifier. Even as someone who knew very little about Unicron I could tell they were going to tell me that Unicron was associated with the concept of destruction in some way in the analysis, and the conclusion would be mostly focused on how the nullifier had erased another abstract of destruction. I really enjoyed Unicron’s analysis, I felt like they did a great job of selling how much of an unstoppable and uncaring force of destruction he is. I did get the sense that Unicron was like a lovecraftian deity who could just destroy your world and not notice or care. I’d love to see you go into more detail about how you would have done an analysis for Unicron differently. I’ll probably watch the prediction video through to see if I get a better sense of that some time this week.

I appreciate you mentioning that. I thought they did fine, but maybe I saw it from the verses angle. It felt epic, though maybe playing them up more like you said is a good idea. Ironically like Michael vs jason, it’s too fast it sounds like. Maybe I was biased, but seemed fine. Now, I’m not super familiar with them, so this could be partial ignorance. Nemesis, I really appreciate all of the effort you put into the review and the deep analysis you give to both the episodes and characters within them. I’m glad that you could share how you think Unicron was mishandled since it means I get to learn more about the character. Nothing wrong with giving constructive criticism to an episode that’s still overall pretty good. They’re your feelings and that’s what I come to these reviews for. As for the tangent you went on at 8:00, I kindly ask can you please get off your fucking high horse? Can you please not put the entirety of the Versus community into one bubble where you are the only person who doesn’t ignore media literacy? Yes there’s plenty here who could learn to appreciate the intricacies of narratives, but all you do with this tangent is insult the viewers for not thinking like you do, despite plenty of us already agreeing that cosmology is important beyond Versus scaling. It just felt really unnecessary and could have been phrased a lot better to not be so belittling.

Yeah that part was painful however I think it’s important to understand he’s content creator so my guess he tired of people thinking cosmology doesn’t matter and lumped everyone together

I think that unicron saying transforming and rhyming was in character in my opinion

I went in knowing very little about Galactus and absolutely nothing about Unicron, so I enjoyed the fight as a fun fight. It did feel kind of flat on my second viewing, though, and seeing your review helped to explain why. Goku V Superman 3 did a lot better in my mind, since it let Superman have fun and enjoy a proper fight, without feeling too out of character for either fighter.

As someone who is barely familiar with Galactus and knows literally nothing about Unicron the fight works for me since it just gives me the basic understanding of both to enjoy the fight. However as someone who enjoys character interactions in the vain of Guts vs Dimitri, Vader vs Obito, Goku vs Superman, and as Nem mentioned Snake vs Sam I do feel like the interactions between Unicron and Glactus were too surface level and left a lot on the cutting room floor.

Just stating what I think happened at the end but I don’t think Galactus vaporized Unicron but instead ate him also I wasn’t all that bothered that they didn’t use there more reality warping nonsense because from what little I have seen or heard of these two their both not very creative entities nor do I think either of these two would continuously make a whole bunch of stuff to throw at each other. For character like Bill Cipher and Discord yes it’s literally in character to make things as wacky as possible but Galactus and Unicron not so much.

Nemesis when a Transformer character is in death battle: Stretches and gets his nerdism ready. This was typed with love. I'm honestly the same way for some series I'm into. Also your speed on cosmology is funny to me. Not because I disagree, but because I saw someone mention that death battle should've done better cosmology research for this one... solely for the purpose of vs debating. Not even something that would change the result.

I feel like the dialogue is defendable since the only beings that we have really see Un interact with are being that he barely registers as existing. I don't think we have ever seen him respond to an equal, since I don't believe Un and Pr have ever been in the same series together. The dialogue does also sells the kinds of being we are seeing. Also the fight direction is understandable. Fiscal blows were working. G landed a solid left and torn Un in half. Then when it was clear that fiscal blows weren't working G pulled out the Ultimate Nullifier. It also got to the scale that previous Death Battles should have gotten to but didn't. The death was disappointing though. I am not convinced that Un isn't actually dead, just not present. It also would have great character development to have G realizes that he is the hero of this story. I can understand them wanting to show that Un can do something to counter the Ultimate Nullifier but it did rob the fight of a character development.

This episode would have been a stellar episode if it hadn't came out in a season full of stellar episodes. I give it a mid B currently just because of the standard where A is now.

I did not know a lot about unicron so i felt really like the episode as Galactus felt in character for me and i can se how misrepresenting unicron would make the episode disappointing

My only criticism for this fight is that , with the music and sound effects going off, its sometimes really hard to tell what Galactus and Unicron are saying.

I was honestly of a similar mind when I first watched. The visuals are stunning, the music amazing, etc. But the fight was kind of just, 'meh' to me. Again, looked great, but I just didn't feel much from the blows being taken or the stuff being blown up. Comparing even just the previous episode, Superman casually crushing a ki blast in his hand, then swatting away another that accidentally blows up the moon, had a lot more impact to me than most of the fight. Even the ending universe destruction there had more weight than the Ultimate Nullifer did in this fight. I don't want to sound harsh, but this fight felt really lacking in some aspects, which is made worse when the previous got it so damn right.

Though I myself Like the episode becuase "ooo pretty", I can respect your opinion. I dont quite get it cause I wasn't big on either character, so I came purely for entertainment, but, as someone who has had a similar Character writing "problem" with one of my fav characters, I get it. Respect for coming out and saying it. Just hope everyone else can be civil about it as well

I honestly do get the points in this review and I honestly have no rebuttal besides Unicron's analysis. They have mentioned MANY times throughout his analysis that he is evil incarnate, the ending is nigh, even comparing him to a hurricanes. While i do like the fight, yeah, I kind of wished there was a bit more to it.

Sorry the ep didn't work out for ya. With this season i thought it would be good, given how they managed to cook this year.

Y'know, whilst this doesn't really change my overall opinion of the episode, these were indeed things that were tickling the back of my own mind.

Rhe first thing i rhink of is his iconic voices. As someone who loves doing voices, character voices are the fiest thing i notice... but the second thing I think of is the transformation.

It's a great sign when the part going over the analysis pretends that most of the analysis didn't happen

Is it really that hard to believe that these guys can move that quickly? They're like...infinite in speed right?

It's less about if it is possible for them to move quickly and more if it fits them to move quickly. There have been cases where both Galactus' and Unicron's speed was directly showcased, but most of the time it is either a background implication or a byproduct of their overall power. All this belongs in a greater discussion about the significance of power levels in a story and their significance for a character. There is also the argument of uniqueness and originality. A Galactus vs Unicron fight feels less unique and significant if Galactus and Unicron fight the same way everyone else fights instead of fighting in a way that best represents them as characters. That's why their attacks in media are usually portrayed as slow and heavy to showcase their immense size, power and cosmic presense.

Here’s what I’ll say, I was a little blinded by the fact that I just wanted this fight so badly that I didn’t really care about the story behind it, because honestly Death Battle only does story build up for very few fights (Although I do now agree, this should’ve been one of them). Me personally I never really watched transformers, and I know bare minimum about Unicron. I honestly loved how they rhymed and spoke so articulate. Although I didn’t know that wasn’t Unicrons character, although this fight could’ve been way more, I literally don’t think Death Battle has the budget for the full potential of this fight, so for that I am satisfied with the fact it was still a great episode in my opinion

Funny G-Fuel ad, but you missed the opportunity to have Unicorn bitching about the wording of the advertisement!

I know it’s kind a meme where VS numb nuts wait for a review of an episode to copy the opinions of the reviewer, but I think your review helped me put into words why I dislike the actual fight itself. You do a really great job explaining your thoughts and what’s so wrong with the pacing and whatnot. Of course there are things I don’t agree with on the episode, but that’s fine and all. Ima keep it band, Ill have to say expecting character from a character like galactus or unicron is kinda much ain’t it? after Galactus became Galactus you might as well expect humanity from a non human character. It’s not like he’d even care or even have spirits to break. Galactus is a force of nature and telling nature that. “Lol what you were doing was wrong and it led to the destruction of many” would probably result in no emotion whatsoever. Not every character is gonna really have character dynamics because not every character in fiction especially “force of nature” types will have any sort of reaction they do just to do and exist because they are required to.

I hope they do better with the next one

My greatest nitpick is probably Unicron's Voice, he just doesn't have the power that I hoped for.

Your opinion of this episode is how I feel about goku vs Superman 3 for the most part which I think is kinda funny.
