Alternate clip Nemesis Bloodryche could've used for Mario Vs Sonic 2018: Do you know what that means, Mario's foot is 12 times more powerful than *super saiyan god super saiyan*.

Common misconception, king dedede and wario aren't really starting in their super forms. Masked King Dedede is just king dedede with a mask and his electric hammer, his star hammer is arguably more powerful than his electric hammer. And wario man is only really his super form in Super Smash Bros. He doesn't use it really ever in another place that makes it seem like it is more powerful that anything he is already capable of doing. Just want to point that out, I get that they are "iconic" super forms, but they really aren't much more powerful than their base forms. I think that the way the episode made them out to be is less like super forms and more like, disguises.

Indeed. I was recently playing the WarioWare series and Wario-Man in that series is literally just Wario in a superhero outfit. It seems like has heightened powers, but that's just his everyday powers. I always say that Wario-Man is just a way to bring in the Wario Land series Wario into the WarioWare series

That doesn't annoy me. What does annoy me is that all the clone Marios stand there doing nothing which is basically them letting Sonic kill them, and only one actually thinks.

I definitely enjoyed this review, small note though on Amy vs. Ramona. Ramona's sprite is straight from the Scott Pilgrim game, and supposedly she's wearing shorts, so any problems with the sprite is with the game not Death Battle

I don't like talking about people like this but the hate for Megaman vs Astroboy basically stems from the same reasoning as Kirby vs Majin Buu: people thought the outcome was BS. As someone who likes Megaman and barely knows Astro at all, i can still say i enjoy this fight and that i don't care that Megaman lost despite preffering him.

@@BiffWeed That is rather weird indeed. The only people i've seen complain about it were Megaman fans who thought he should have won. I never thought the animation for Megs vs Astro was bad at all, and it's especially impressive when you know how fast it was done.

Wario vs Dedede is the only Death Battle so far that I genuinely really wanted and we got, and that, along with my extreme Kirby bias and love of all the weird things they did with the two leads it to be one of my favorite episodes. I do understand why you’d give it a 7, but for me, I’ll always hold it very dearly

@@dmcx-tv2308 I do wish they went into why they put them at universal and multiversal (Dedede especially since a lot of people aren't well aware of Void Termina's reasonings) but besides that, beautiful episode

I’m happy that DK vs Knuckles finally gets some recognition as the ridiculous masterpiece it is. They pull off the individual fighting styles of both characters so well, with Knuckles using frequent punches and DK using heavy swings.

I'm still not a big fan of how much they play up Knuckles' supposed stupidity and i think the matchup itself is terrible, but those are my only major complaints i do think the episode is good outside of that.

@@paavoautio1974 Ironically enough, Knuckles was portrayed as a deceptively clever fighter in the animation for his fight with DK: noticing quickly that his opponent was stronger and taking on an evasive fighting style as a result, taking advantage of being slammed into the ground by using his digging which provided extra cover and even using DK's own strenght against him by weakening the ground as DK was slamming the ground nd then cutting a hole around DK to drop him underground. It's honestly both funny and kinda sad that the animator for that episode seems to have a better understanding of how Knuckles is smarter then he seems then the researchers did.

I still think they should have done Mario & Luigi vs Sonic & Tails instead of just a rematch between Mario and Sonic imo. Like bust out a few combination moves from the M&L series and Sonic 4 episode 2, also people wouldn't be asking for Luigi vs Tails 2 because that's likely never happening anyway.

Honestly wario vs dedede is just so much fun And appetite for greed is personally one of my favorite songs along side reverse rose and chorus of carnage. Also the fact they use wario man and masked dedede as like wrestling personas is so clever and i love the touch. Honestly that and the mega man royal are imo easily the best fights covered in this episode.

I'll admit, Mario vs Sonic 2 was my most wanted matchup after Ratchet vs Jak, but while that episode delivered on what I always wanted as a fan of both franchises, this one.....left me stumped. As weird as it may seem talking from someone who adores the general aesthetic, one of my bigger issues is the hand drawn animation. I like that they wanted to try something different after the myrad of Sprite battles and for being the 100th episode, but like you implied the overall tone of the animation is less Jack vs Afro and more Smokey vs Mcgruff just with adult humor. Also I HATE that half of the powerups Mario used were from Super Mario 3D World. Where's the Super Cape? The Hammer Suit? The Acorn Suit? Oh! The Boulder Mushroom! That is literally a spindash, there could have been an amazing moment where the 2 clash spinning in front of each other. But no, 2 of the 4 powerups from a game released on a console nobody bought. While I rewatch the Playstation 2 mascot battle from beginning to end when I was into the battle, with this one I almost exclusively watch the ending which is genuinley amazing, but one part of a fight that's great doesn't mean it's a great fight. It's very mid to me. Only lowered by the stuff brought up in this video such as Mario's characterization and Sonic getting spitted (FUCK. SONIC. SPITE)

them using hypersonic before supersonic doesn’t make sense to me, and hypersonic has the ability to annihilate every enemy on screen. and the fact that sonic died via spin dash when he has pierced shit stronger than titanium. also the ability choices for sonic were weird. just using the rocket wisp from modern sonic games, and then two power ups from the classic sonic games. where is the ancient light? his bounce ball? light speed dash? even his simple boost formula could have changed the tides

@@nourmallysalty I’m personally disappointed that they didn’t give Sonic some of his other forms, specifically Darkspine and Excalibur Sonic. There’s actually a decent argument that Excalibur Sonic specifically is just a free win against Mario, since the sword cancels out immortality and can cut through anything (meaning Mario’s invincibility power ups likely couldn’t protect him) and the fact that it’s one of Sonic’s few super forms that isn’t on a time limit so it can’t just be stalled out. Provided that Sonic doesn’t take too many hits, he can keep the golden armor for as long as he wants.

Death Battle wanted Mario to win.

I think the flashbacks in the Wario VS. Dedede battle were to help show that they were just now realizing who they were fighting.

Honestly my main problem with Mario vs. Sonic was, like you said, they made Mario out to be a lot more malicious and a jerk. I mean yeah Sonic did took his spot but Mario is usually nice enough to just let it slide and find somewhere else to sit. What they should've done is done a gag where Sonic constantly tries to take Mario's other spots using his speed saying things like "Whoop! Sorry! Wanted this spot instead!" because Sonic, in character, loves to mess around others. That would've annoyed Mario to the point where it could've lead to the DB.

Or maybe instead, when Sonic says "finders keepers pal", Mario has an uninterested look on his face and picks up Sonic and gently puts him on the ground(Like in Steven Vs Star), and Sonic gets angry as Mario lays on the chair, so the blue blur attacks him with a spin attack, and the fight continues like normal.

@@turbobist2889 That part is weird too. It was clearly done to cut corners to have the episode fully hand drawn kinda like the recycled animation during their acsending battle into orbit. Sonic not trying to fight back or dodge attacks from Mario's clones still bothers me more since his home series makes a big deal about how he never gives up no matter what odds are stacked against him, plus even if you're not a Sonic fan and wouldn't know that about him then it's still weird that the character who is known for his super speed (to the point that it's the reason for his name) just stands still and not even try to dodge attacks.

I kinda wish Volnutt got better respect in his fight. He's definitely not winning, but at least have him fire the Shining Lazer, which then would make X and Classic realize he could be a threat and that would lead into his defeat.

This. Shining Laser is literally X's final Buster, which Roll Caskett then takes and upgrades it to the point where its fire is a constant beam instead of shots. That alone should at least put it as stronger than anything Classic can throw.

I agree that Astro Boy vs Mega Man is pretty good, but honestly Mega Man's quote at the end of his analysis being an actual KZread Poop really rubs me the wrong way.

Matter of fact, Sonic himself was so heavily gimped in the rematch in general because there's a whole wealth of information they either left out or straight-up got wrong. Then again, they tend to do that with Sonic characters all the time nowadays.

@@99sonicrocks If they wanted to mention "Sonic doesn't scale to Universal threats", why didn't they just go into a deeper explanation on why he can't scale to them(Its a problem I also have with Wario Vs Dedede)? Like they could've went deeper into detail by saying that Mario also scales to Paper Mario who defeated a similar threat, so Mario and Sonics scaling matches each other. Like for example, I have an analysis on my most wanted SMG4 matchup, Mephiles Vs SMG0: As powerful as SMG0 is, he is nowhere near as strong as Solaris. SMG0 was only able to destroy a universe because he killed the avatar of the universe, so he didn't have enough power to destroy an entire universe yet. Let's say thst if there was a very important piece that holds an entire building, and I break that piece which destroys the entire building. Would that mean I am strong enough to destroy buildings? No. And at best, SMG0 can create one universe, but it requires an avatar, which is Mario. Not to mention, Mephiles has hax. He can just pull a "Time Huh, Thanks For The Tip" and not have to worry because SMG0 can't time travel. Even if you could argue that SMG0 is universal, it pales in comparison to Solaris since he is able to destroy all existing timelines and he exists both in the past, present, and future. SMG0 is impressive, but Mephiles/Solaris is on a whole different level. See, I went into a deeper explanation.

I know this video is like, a year old, but Ramona’s sprite is just based off one of her more memorable outfits throughout the comics (I think a hoodie underneath a bikini or something, idk, it’s been a minute since I read the comics). It’s definitely a weird choice for that design to get a sprite, but it still looks really cool imo. I’m now praying that whenever Scott gets in they don’t give him a custom sprite. Those sprites are too iconic to not use to the point where I’d honestly rather they primarily not use puppet rigging since that usually takes away a ton of the speed and impact in fights imo

The Mega Man BR definitely felt like the ending was rushed. They probably needed to do Star Force's death more quickly than he would actually die, and couldn't give him one of his final forms even though they were given to Rock, X, and EXE. The sprites just weren't a thing. How it might have actually gone, Star Force deletes and exits his body as a dead shell, then uses power absorbed from X and the Mother Elf in order to achieve Finalization, Red Joker more likely than Black Ace. Then it would be a clash between that and Hub Style EXE that leads to something similar (Red Gaia Eraser VS whatever EXE did to destroy Nebula Grey) albeit, a lot more wiping out of their surroundings in the process.

Pretty much all of them kind didn't use their aresonals, but it's a mega man series they are talking about and it's fine. Star Force did use the red gaia eraser with X's body, so at least he used his "best attack" according to death battle. Volnutt got shafted. they only gave him the mega buster. At least one shining laser.

Mario vs. Sonic 2018 was a pretty rigged episode, I'm guessing someone who worked on Death Battle REALLY wanted one where Mario wins.

@@radiccol They only made this episode just to make Mario win, that should be pretty obvious to see with the lack of feats they gave Sonic. They also said they'll be using canon feats for both, but the OVA isn't canon. Yeah it's pretty rigged.

Hell, a part 3 using composites is a really popular fight suggestion as of right now. And they said they'll use any source that doesn't contradict main ones, and the OVA literally gave Sonic his best strength feat so I don't see how that's rigging AGAINST him

One thing I find funny about the brutality of Mario vs Sonic 2 is how it completely contradicts their explanation for the tame death in Weiss vs Mitsuru. Besides the incorrect statement that they don't always do a brutal death, which they more than often have a brutal death, their whole thing of trying to keep the tone of the characters is also bullcrap. So you claim to keep the tone of the characters yet you have Mario tear off skin from Sonic's back, have his hands shredded by Sonic spin dashing into him and the fight ends with his leg falling into Mario's hand? What Mario or Sonic games have you been playing where that happens? Honestly they could have just said they didn't want the Rooster Teeth character to be horribly mutilated or noticeably killed, just be honest. Even with the explanation that its Mitsuru's Astral Finish and that's how it works, the fact we don't even see a body is off. That death was so bad, a Death Battle Reactor didn't even realize the fight had ended. While Weiss vs Mitsuru is the absolute best RWBY episode, that very tame death still leaves me with the belief that they have a RWBY bias, Yang vs Tifa was the origin of that and Blake vs Mikasa only adding to that. Keeping to the tone my ass when you have all these child friendly characters getting brutal deaths but suddenly you get tame or censored deaths or injuries when your own company's characters are the ones at risk.

"Only army battle as of writing this review" Wait, was Sigma vs Ultron not an army battle? I know it doesn't really focus on anything more than just those two, so I can see why it wouldn't be considered one I suppose.

@@blitz4779 EXE would probably be Agumon, though I have also thought of Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh because that could be interesting, mainly because I like Kaiba vs Chaud for being rivals who are rich and dicks. For Geo, Yugi also works but I do like Yu Narukami from Persona 4 because the power of bonds and their wide elemental powers could be interesting. Volnutt... I've seen Boom Sonic and Batman Beyond, but personally I like Shantae because Half Human Heroes who are treasure hunters and fight technologically advanced pirates with an army of small cute minions.

Wow.... I never noticed how much they dropped the ball with Mario and Sonic characters. I also never noticed how trashed Sonic got in the rematch. Now that I think about it though there hasn't really been a great Sonic fight. Sonic vs Flash was fine, but considering how powerful the 2 were and how Amazing Reverse Flash vs Goku Black was, it could have been so much more.

The only good Sonic fight (at least to me) was the first Sonic vs Mario, mainly cause the animation feels like Mario vs Sonic, both are in character with, the little to barely any dialogue they have (even including that Drowning part in one scene) and on top of that, they used all the abilities and power ups they mentioned in the analysis. *And this was done in Season 1. What the hell happened?*

Who knows Sonic is a popular character so we're bound to see another fight with him. Hopefully he's done well... oh and same with Mario hopefully he gets a good one too.

Like, seriously this fight was done in Season 1 yet it’s better than the one in 2018 which is supposed to be a *100TH EPISODE SPECIAL!* like, seriously what the hell happened?

@@darksonicyt5430 Despite me liking Mario Vs Sonic 2018, there is one thing that 2011 has over 2018, and that is music. Both the Mario and Sonic franchises have so much amazing and iconic music tracks, and hearing the iconic tracks you recognize is so good. But then because of copyright, they decided to use random music from audionetwork and custom music tracks. As much as Bowser Vs Ganon is a bad episode, at least they had Bowser and Ganondorf's many themes in their analysis.

I respect the 7/10 for Dedede vs. Wario but damn this has to be in my top 10 Death Battles. They took my literal favourite fictional character and a character I really like and did exactly what I would want in a DB with them in it. A big, goofy, stupid clash of 2 fat people who like to eat. It also had fart jokes that were actually funny and that's worth at least 1000 bonus points.

What really dragged down the Metal vs Zero analysis for me was the obvious Sonic downplay when they gave their idea on his speed. I can buy Zero winning with but with them scaling Metal to base Sonic and their idea on how fast he is? Just soured the battle before it even began.

The Mega Man Battle Royale is definitely one of my favorite sprite animations but probably has one of my least favorite conclusions on deciding the winner and it's a problem that has come up with other series representations since then (IE Star Wars). That being, them giving .EXE manga and anime feats and that being basically the only reason he's able to beat out Geo. Manga, Anime, and Game .EXE are all three completely different characters who just aren't compatible with one another. Hell, two of them aren't even Lan's brother Hub reborn. Not to mention even if you could argue compositing the three versions of .EXE the calculation of him being universe-level doesn't really add up. The internet is it's own beast and just because they depict the setting of the internet with it's own land masses and stuff doesn't mean the whole thing is the size of the universe. At best you could probably imagine the internet data world being a size comparable to the place it originated from, that being Earth at the time of Battle Network whereas once you get to Star Force the internet has grown to be capable of reaching out to far reaches of space, hence how Geo's speed feat works out. Thus Geo far eclipses .EXE on speed and defeat Sirius in the black hole server means he beats .EXE out on strength and durability too. It's a very major gripe for what is honestly a 10/10 episode for me otherwise.

Not gonna lie, Luigi vs Tails has probably been one of my least favorite episodes in the whole series, one that I just can't really bring myself to watch. Admittedly, it's mostly because Luigi is a character I have always gotten comfort from, but also yeah he really just gets... destroyed in the animation, it just made me feel like shit while watching it

Kinda bullshit too since in the rematch, Mario beat Sonic, and Luigi can literally do everything Mario can in terms of powerups, even jumping higher than Mario. If Mario beat Sonic in a rematch, Luigi should beat Tails in one too. EDIT: Not bashing or defending Mario vs Sonic rematch or anything, just my personal opinion

Common misconception about Knuckles. He was never truly stupid, just painfully unaware due to being isolated from society for all his life. He doesn't think in the same way regular people do, being a lot simpler in strategy as it was more effective from his perspective. He's by no means a dumbass, but he has a hard time seeing nuance and coming up with new ideas. He doesn't see the bigger picture in things. You can blame Sonic X and recent media like the newer games and Boom for dumbing him down, but I'm glad that the new Sonic movies are reviving the characters that fell victim to the incessant need to make things comedic, and therefore making the characters damn near stupid or unlikeable.

Well, SOMEBODY thinks Bowser vs Eggman's gonna be in Season 9.

@@pippo17173 Maybe the fight can start with Bowser and Eggman duking it out in Bowsers flying castle or Eggmans airship/Death Egg where Bowser is in his base form and Eggman is in his Death Egg Robot. And Bowser knocks Eggman out of the arena they were fighting in and land in a city where they send their entire army to fight, and Bowser now uses his Giga Bowser form and Eggman uses his Egg Dragoon. Also, Bowser Vs Eggman should definitely be 5-6 minutes long.

Bowser should get his hands on a Chaos Emerald and Eggman comes to take it, that way we can have Eggman think he used Chaos Control when he teleports (that's a power from his second battle in Mario 64). The Chaos Emerald can become a Chekov's Gun with Metal Sonic using it to power up like in Eggman vs Wily. Also, totally unrelated to the set-up, but I want one of the Koopalings to die in the army battle (not Jr because he logically would have a Dry form so he's a lot harder to kill and we need some kind of corpse) and Bowser utterly lose it, activating the Fury status.

I honestly hate that matchup. Bowser vs Eggman really doesn’t work for me. You got a guy who can turn gigantic and fight on his own without any mechs and is also a dragon, against a guy who uses mechs all the time and can’t fight physically (unless you count those few times where he either beat the shit out of other stuff but, that isn’t much) and is only Human (but isn’t as durable as one cause Eggman survives nearly everything for some fucking reason)

I know this sounds weird, but the music that plays during Astro’s breakdown really fills me with nostalgia. I actually really liked the 2009 movie and it’s music, and hearing it while the hosts were laying down Astro’s 7 powers was a perfect fit.

I definitely think Eggman vs Wily's final result would be more reasonable if Metal Sonic just went crazy and pulled a Sonic Heroes on everyone, rather than rely on the Roboenza capsule to do that. I mean, Metal is capable Also wow, you know you're getting old when you remember that Roboenza was considered a relatively new Mega Man item back then. Anyway, as for the Knuckles vs Donkey Kong episode, I really thought that they leaned quite a bit too much on Knuckles being an idiot, especially given that Knuckles isn't actually as dumb as the likes of Sonic Boom make him out to be. A lot of material behind the older Sonic games (besides the games themselves) portrayed Knuckles as gullible, but still decently intelligent and not just some punch happy dumbass. Definitely not one of my favourite portrayals, in my opinion. But that's just me. Obligatory oh no.

An issue i had with the Eggman vs Wily ep is how they excluded the Egg salamander eggman piloted. It could do battle with and beat metal Overlord imo, still giving the W to eggman, although it wouldnt have been as funny

Tbh, Knuckles stupidity didn’t bother me all that much in the fight. It takes a more comedic tone which makes some of his actions way more forgivable, and Knuckles displayed a good amount of tactics during the fight. The ANALYSIS however was pretty annoying to sit through at the end. Especially when they say Knuckles has been tricked by Eggman many times, when in cannon it’s only really happened twice.

Ik you don't care about the victor of fights n all but in Mario vs Sonic 2018 one of their points for why Mario wins was them saying "He could just turn Sonic into Ice with the Ice flower or into Gold with the Gold flower" The problem with them saying this was that in the DB cast they were asked, "Hey hyper sonic has a flash attack that kills everything on screen couldnt he just do that to Mario?" then Ben says "Well no because it only works on normal enemies like badniks" but then the Gold and Ice flowers only work on basic enemies like goombas and stuff so within a week after the episode aired they debunked themselves

And Sonic has the Ring Time ability which does basically the same thing as the Gold Flower (could turn Mario into rings) so if that applies, Sonic could do the same thing right back at Mario going by their logic.

I agree Mario Vs Sonic 2 isn't great, I also don't like the fact it's hand drawn. A 3D animation would literally be perfect, portraying the progression of both the characters and death battle as a whole. And I don't like that sonic gets bodied and Mario acts like a parody of himself

Good rankings man. The two changes I would make are Ramona Vs Amy and Sonic Vs Mario 2 both get a 5 from me, and MM Vs Astro is a 7 (Though that's just bias talking as a MM fan)

The Ramona sprite is pulled from the Scott Pilgrim game, no idea why they didn’t give her pants in the game though

I remember really liking Zero Vs Metal Sonic, but looking back I realized that the only part I remembered was the cool stuff at the end with Overlord. Guess I blocked out the rest of the fight cause wow that is pretty bad.

I liked the video, also the Ramona sprite is taken from Scott pilgrim vs the world the game, so that’s with the sprite’s appearance.

Ok.... you've done SOOOO many reviews at this point.... i think it would make sense to put all the episodes, that remain, in just one video.... or are there still too many for that to happen?

It’d be a lot of work, and takes away potential for more episodes of this series that make more revenue. Even if it was possible, I don’t blame them for milking it, especially since Death Battle is about to go on hiatus until next season.

To answer your question about Ramona's sprite, her sprite comes from 'Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game'. That's why Ramona doesn't wear any pants at all, hope that helps!

Ngl, it would've been funnier if Nemesis played Chorus Of Carnage when reviewing Luigi Vs Tails due to the multiple comparisons he makes with that episode and Carnage Vs Lucy.

idk if you covered this one before but the Shadow vs Vegeta fights still irks me more than the sonic vs mario (2018) fight. it’s just the fact that they use such obscure details to make the other winner fight is ridiculous. like how they factored heavily on shadow’s amnesia for why he lost

I'm glad someone gave Mario vs Sonic 2018 a little flack. I definitely prefer the first one specifically on the fight animation. Comparing it to an edgy newgrounds animation seems about right imho and the big thing that annoyed me personally was how they specifically had a mistake in this one that the first fight went out of it's way to address. That being Starman lasting as long as one of Sonic's Super forms. With how they had Mario blow through 3 of his strongest defensive power ups to stonewall Super Sonic and get him on the back foot in the first fight that really stands out to me.

It especially sucks because Metal Mario's additional weight and inability to fly could have been used for a sequence where Metal Mario grabs Hyper Sonic as he plummets back to earth, taking the hedgehog with him as they fall through the atmosphere. Although we wouldn't have gotten that amazing Mario "WAAAAAAAAH" lineread. Fuckin' love that line. Mario's need to chain invincibility power-ups could have lead to Hyper Sonic getting a super impactful hit after the Starman wore off, either a massive punch to the belly that made Mario cough up blood or even tearing off a limb. Hell, Hyper Sonic could even seperate Mario from his next invincibility power-up, forcing him to use a different one to make him intangibile like the Vanish Cap or Boo Shroom (if it was dark) to get past Hyper Sonic and reclaim it.

Luigi Vs Pac Man is one of his most requested matchups. Hope it has an arcade/8 bit style to it.

As a huge fan of both franchises, I completely agree with Mario vs Sonic 2 not being too great overall. Analysis wise, it’s pretty good, don’t have too many complaints that don’t go into low-balling both characters and saying certain feats don’t count, like Solaris, while saying the Mario cartoons do, which is just weird, but that kinda goes into debating rather than the episode itself. The main issue is the fight itself, where, while Mario is really badly characterised and it sucks to see, I don’t think Sonic’s all that great too. I feel as though Sonic picking a fight with a guy for rightfully tossing him off his deckchair is really weird, Sonic’s a really nice guy, so even him stealing the deckchair in the first place is strange, let alone going straight to murder for it. I also feel the way they have him act during the fight itself is so off, other than maybe the very beginning where he speeds around like he always does. Stuff like him having the Super Emeralds despite them not being a thing since S3&K, and being confirmed to be broken in Mania, and he stops acting as a hit and runner like I expect, and devolves into a dumbass who doesn’t even try to dodge the Mario clones, even though he’s clearly fast enough, and while the two of them fall, he flails his fists around screaming, rather than straight away going for a spin dash, or anything along those lines. Plus, he loses his usual cocky attitude right after the beginning, it’s so weird to see him constantly angry without a single smirk, or dynamic pose, or anything fun at all really, he’s just not fun. Mario’s much worse of course, but they didn’t exactly do either one justice, it just felt like, as basically everyone says, a well animated Dorkly skit, rather than Mario and Sonic fighting, as I feel the first one actually did decently well.

And then there’s Chunky, he’s dead….. HE’S DEAD, CHUNKY’S DEAD HE’S DEAD, CHUNKY’S DEAD

Wait, you thought the camera was zooming out from mario in the 2011 DB? Honestly you are the first person I heard that thought that. Cause I didn't when first watching it so long ago.

Honestly I want several of these characters get a runback. Luigi,Tails,Peach and maybe knuckles and DK. Megaman battle Royale is one of my favorite.

Mega Man Battle Royale is still my favorite Battle Royale episode (for now.... Not really because I hardly doubt another BR episode is going to pass it because it's my third favorite episode of Season 6)

Another thing to put in during the Hyper Sonic vs Star Mario fight, Sonic's hits do NOTHING to Star Mario, but Star-Mario's hits are doing legitimate damage to Hyper Sonic. Sonic just gets bodied the entire fight and gets nothing to do.

In defense of the straight to Hyper-Sonic transformation, from what I remember in S3&K, Hyper-Sonic actually does replace the super transformation completely once you get all the Super Emeralds. So having Sonic go super to hyper wouldn’t be game accurate. And they couldn’t exclude Hyper-Sonic because then Sonic fans would get pissed and say “I they included Hypersonic Sonic would have destroyed Mario and Death Battle are appeasing the Mario fandom and that’s why it wasn’t included hmph”.

@@darksonicyt5430 Yeah, the sneak peek ended right at the point where Sonic was sulking about getting a break as the Mario clones were about to attack him, which is the exact opposite of the never give up attitude that his home series puts so much emphasis on. Not to mention in the full episode that moment is followed up by the worst scene of the episode. It didn't bother me on my first watch of that sneak peek, but a few rewatches later it really showed me how mischaracterized Sonic was.

I enjoyed Mega Man vs Astro Boy but I don't watch it much because Mega's one of my favorite fictional characters ever and I hate seeing him die

Nitpick: Starforce Megaman technically wouldn't be THAT damaged from the combined black-hole since he was capable of walking around the supermassive black-hole, Sagittarius A. And also, the whole "Battle Network Megaman was holding back as well during their first fight" line at the ending results was wrong. The events of Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star is during the first Battle Network game (sometime after battling Elec Man), so EXE doesn't have all his crazy abilities he would gain later one (he isn't weak, just isn't comparable to Starforce yet). When they fought, EXE was a little out of breath, suggesting he wasn't holding back (and in the context of the story at this point, why would EXE hold back against an unknown and suspicious enemy that could be causing problems around the net and the reason for Roll's disappearance?). Anyways, I agree that EXE wins.

The thing is that sonic can turn into hyper without ever going super. Hyper is more of an upgrade to the emeralds. Also, I actually find the hyper use nice because hes super underrepresented. He has only appeared in one game.

We can talk about who the winner in the Mario VS Sonic remake should be all we want, but I have to agree with Nemesis on Mario’s characterization. It really doesn’t feel like Mario’s victory was well-earned, and they probably _were_ taking pages from Matpat’s theory.

I have a few ideas for Mario vs sonic 2 like maybe when sonic jumps out of the water in the bubble shield Mario pulls out his ultra hammer (which they did mention he has) and whacks sonic across the ocean again and uses the ice flower to freeze the ocean solid and when sonic falls into the ocean he uses the frenzy wisp to eat through the ice and he transforms back then uses the fire shield for some kind of speed blitz combo and then Mario freezes sonic solid (kind of like what wiz said in the conclusion) then sonic goes super and Mario pulls out the metal cap and then sonic hits Mario into the air when Mario pulls out the cape feather and a smaller aerial fight happens where they both clash attacks until sonic lands a big hit on Mario which completely shatters his metal form off his body and before sonic spin dashes into Mario time slows to a crawl and then Mario reveals he used his stopwatch to freeze time, after that he places a bomb omb beside sonic and after the explosion sonic becomes hyper sonic and then the whole end of the fight happens.

The Megaman battle royale was great, but why did they use the 16 bit sprites for Classic and X instead of their 32 bit ones that would have fit better alongside the others?

They don't even bring up if he can resist time stops or not. It made sense when X broke through Classic Megaman's time stop because they specifically brought up in his rundown that he could do that but they never bring that up for Zero. If he can then they should have brought it up and if he can't then that makes the climax of that fight even dumber.

Races and Generations don’t count) putting that attack power at even building level is even more dumb. (You mean to tell me that the doctor who is able to conquer the entire world, and blew up the fucking moon, and destroyed several cities or towns.....would rebuild and keep a robot who’s only strong enough to destroy a building?)

It didn't need to happen it felt like they needed to have Mario win but since they know Sonic is tougher and stronger they have to give Mario everything and give Sonic nothing out of spite. I hate the 2018 one because of how much they mocked Sonic and made him look weak for no other reason than just make Mario win.

Tbh Sonic's characterisation wasn't much better compared to Mario's, especially with him standing still and basically giving up while letting himself get wrecked untill he goes hyper when the Mario clones show up depite his home series always making a big deal about how he never gives up no matter what odds he faces. Just take a look at this cutscene from Sonic and the Black Knight kzread.info/dash/bejne/mHintsaDpr2fgcY.html (they start fighting at 1:38) and compare the tone and Sonic's characterisation to how he acts in the death battle if you want to get a good feeling of how much that individual db scene pisses me off as a Sonic fan

With the Mario vs sonic 2018 I see that Mario having more traits of the smb3 and smw cartoon Mario mixed with modern day Mario

I used to hate Luigi vs Tails because Luigi lost but now I hate it for how much they disrespect Luigi as character like they did this just to poke fun of him making it feels like biased towards the other character which just gives you an idea on who the winner will be and it just wrong and don’t even get me started on the fight itself they really did Luigi dirty in that and the radish feat they included at the give me Jotaro vs Kenshiro flash back with Diamond feat which is just why I would have been fine with it if they give both fighters equal respect or had a solid enough explanation but this is just disappointed in so many levels

Sucks to see a lot of Sonic Episodes not be great and the only ones I truly loved were Eggman vs Wily, DK vs Knuckles, Wally West vs Archie Sonic and Shadow vs Ryuko.

Yes but I would say is not going to be as big as a scale as the Mega Man Battle Royale but only either 3 or 4 characters so say goodbye to that JoJo's Battle Royale

Shadow vs Ryuko review

I definitely agree with the Mega Man battle royale opinion. I would've enjoyed it if they didn't do Volnutt dirty. Who so happens to me my favorite Blue Bomber (X is my second favorite).

I like the STYLE of Mario Vs Sonic 2018 - but not Mario's attitude at the start or how badly Sonic got shafted. Mario was basically Dorkly-ized and Sonic was a punching bag because Sonic Forces did terrible and it's "popular to hate on Sonic" I think if the animation was done differently to showcase the extent of Mario and Sonic's movesets and personalities it would've been the best episode ever. But I feel like it was done just to give Mario the W while still mocking Sonic. They also deliberately stated that Paper Mario was different from Regular Mario which... Paper Jam may have made that a thing and certainly that would be the case for Sticker Star, Color Splash, and Origami King as the devs stated they made those games precisely due to the art style being paper, the first three Paper Mario games don't over-focus on the fact that the characters are paper outside a few meta gags or gameplay aspects: They could actually exist as stories in the main Mario series unlike the later craft based games.

@@red5158077 Like I said, the animation doesn't do the fight or the characters justice. Would you still be saying that if the animation treated Sonic better, but still gave him the L due to the results?

@@Tobunari The rematch wasn't necessary at all. As a 100th episode it doesn't do it justice. That's what the rematches are made for to let the original loser win. They did not have to make Sonic look like a weakling but they did for no real reason. Mario didn't need to be a asshole like he was portrayed here. Sonic has so many ways to actually win. Sonic doesn't flail around wildly he actually fights with skill.

@@red5158077 The data presented still puts Mario at the win more times than not, it's the whole deal with how they portrayed the fight that irked me. Besides, Samus VS Boba Fett still ended with the same result, although that was more of a remake of the fight.

@@Tobunari Samus vs Boba Fett isn't a good example because that's a *REMASTER* and not a *REMATCH*
