Snake vs Sam is a "flawless" episode. Flawless is in quotes because of course it has flaws. BUT I DON'T CARE. It's so good in every possible way the flaws are nitpicks at best

Death Battle no longer having Torrian is one of the saddest things about this series, but I am glad he has moved on to bigger and better things. He deserves all the fame, as he is one talented, passionate man - one that I have a lot of respect for.

The only problem I generally had with it was genuinely just how limited Optimus' dialogue was, as all he ever really says is just iconic one liners from his franchise. Him killing a human may also be an issue too, but you could easily write that off as him just being unaware. Starscream VS Rainbow Dash, however? Oh dear lord..

I think the reason Nation drake death was hated was the same reason people hated carols death from the 18 vs captain marvel fight. It's less the death and more that she used a one time feat from a comic that 3 people read,instead of her weapons/tools shes known for instead of helicopter blade.

There’s something so goddamn satisfying about hearing ERB’s instrumental playing over footage of Terminator vs Robocop.

Coming from someone who's a big fan of TF2 and was a big fan of OW, I genuinely wouldn't care if Tracer won...if the analysis didn't feel so...weighted in her favor. In her feats list, it says she defeated both Widowmaker and Reaper- implying she did it alone which is...complete bull. In the initial trailer, she spends a solid portion of the fight hiding while her Accelerator is malfunctioning while Reaper is kicking Winston's ass until he goes primal while Widowmaker is going for the gauntlet. Winston's doing most of the heavy-lifting in that fight and even the random teenager probably did more when he megaton punched Widow. The only impressive feat she really showed was disarming Widow which is cool, but it's certainly not defeating them. And in the fight, Tracer acts more like she does in-universe rather than in-game, she can blink a lot without problem and her recall can go back for far longer than 3 seconds. Meanwhile, Scout gets a decent collection of random weapons brought up in the analysis only for the majority of it to not be used. They say Bonk makes you invincible when it's more reasonable to say it allows Scout to bullet time. And they give Scout major feats of physicality like surviving explosions and knocking people huge distances with just a swing of his baseball bat only for none of that to get brought up in the ending, like, regardless of where the point of impact was, we seem to be ignoring that simply surviving a huge explosion and crashing into a building puts Scout on a much higher level of durability than Tracer who didn't even get a durability feat in the episode. Oh, and them not even mentioning Tracer's most damning weakness- the Chronal Accelerator and how it could've screwed her over in the conclusion. Yeah, that's a big oversight. Idk, I still hate it. It's bad if you're not a fan of either series and just want good death battle episodes. And it's especially bad if you're a fan of both series and know everything they got wrong about both. And when you realize that Tracer still holds the record for the shortest time between her debut in OW and her appearance in DB, it really makes me think this could've been another Yang vs. Tifa debacle. Hyping up one character at the cost of another... ...but it didn't include Sam Fisher not knowing how to type so it's objectively a better episode k thx bi

Even then scout should've wone with the one hit he got. He killed a full grown bear with a bone. Regardless of which bone it was (femur, rib, forearm, any of them), that would give him a one shot kill in terms of power since tracer is very frail

Tbf, my main complaint with Master Chief vs Doomguy is that Doomguy is slow AF, he's supposed to be THE rep of the *fast* FPS genre. Oh and technically, it'd be more of a new matchup rather than a remake, as while Doomguy and the Doomslayer are the same character lore-wise; the Doomslayer has a way more accrobatic and frantic fight-style. I don't care who wins in the end, all I want is for both characters to be represented to their fullest extent.

Can't wait for the "All Death Battles ranked" video : ) And yes, Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher is by far my favorite episode, they did the two characters absolute justice and the fight was portrayed so accurately. People say that the fight scenes are just for show and aren't meant to be accurate, but I disagree with that. The episode is made so much better when the fights are accurately protrayed to how it would actually go.

God when the "o flower of Scotland" began playing for solid snake vs Sam Fisher started playing I immediately saluted I'm on a family holiday and I snuck my headphones down to the the bar to watch this-

Frank is characterized pretty fucking bad. They went with his DR4 personality, which is the one of the biggest things fans had a problem with in Dead Rising 4. He acts like an uninteresting Ash Williams (who he should’ve fought change my mind) and is completely out of Frank’s normal character. Not to say being silly isn’t Frank at all… but that’s not entirely who he is and definitely not how he acts in fights. He’s a determined man and sort of mellow with a little snark thrown in. Not really cocky and definitely not some Deadpool knockoff. Still one of my favorite episodes but that still irks me. Hopefully they bring Frank back someday and do his personality more justice

Sam vs snake and iron man vs lex have such great finales, that’s why they’re my two favourite episodes.

Solid Snake vs. Sam Fisher is one of Death Battles all time great. Also, Brad Venable Otacon was amazing, may he Rest in Peace.

Actually based how you use the ERB of Terminator vs Robocop as the BGM. You should review every ERB as an actual battle (that doesn’t get you cancelled on Twitter)

The most recent battle, their first official triple threat match would be a great one for this concept. That said, Robocop vs. Terminator seemed to be a pop culture "mood." Even Mortal Kombat officially unofficially did it.

For fights that had one off showings, we did get some of the best fights here. Strider vs Ryu was probably one of my favorite 2D fights for some time since it felt like you had two fairly even characters who could not only dish out so many weapons and tools at their disposal, but how each man could effectively deal and dispose of them. It felt like it did a great job in showcasing what both can do and the end was still one of my favorites when you Strider performing Ragnarok before the big drop at the end. A great fight overall. Terminator vs Robocop did feel like the beginning of them wanting to do so much more with 3D fights and to make them seem big and fantastic. Defintely rough around the edges (between the talking being just "move jaw up and down" and how they move maybe a bit too janky, which for them being robots seems like an irony in itself). Still, if we were to get a kind of "Terminator vs Robocop" movie (which I am actually shocked never happened considering how we are still pushing out Terminator films for some bizarre reason up to 2019... Let Arnold rest already...), you'd think they would have "Freddy vs Jason" this up. But still, the ending did feel like what would have likely happened by the end of it (including how you have Robocop realizing how dangerous the Terminator is and finding a way to try and minimize overall damage from the fallout. Even though I think the Terminator exploding from that height might still cause some overall issues). Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter also did a great job in showcasing what the teams of two can do (and it was actually kind of nice to actually have a "Duo" death battle since I don't think we've ever had that kind of fight since maybe Eggman vs Wily, and that was more of an "army vs army" fight. Maybe Sigma vs Ultron too, but that was more like using their random minions for reasons). But what I think I liked the most out of the fight is how you see how for Ratchet, he does rely on Clank and how when you see the two separated, Clank does show great concern for his friend and immediately rushes to his aid when separated. As for Daxter, Jak knows that he might not be able to do much to help him, but he never sees Daxter as a burden (and there are times where Daxter can actually be one hell of an x-Factor too, such as somehow using the missile that sent him flying to fly back and use it to catch Ratchet off guard). Of course, by the end, it was kind of clear that Ratchet's arsenal (and the very clever use of Clank's ability to fight off time freeze) would enable their victory. Definitely would be nice to revisit Jak in a future game, but sadly out of the "PS2's big three" he sadly fell by the wayside. Maybe a PS5 game will be in order in the future? Who knows... And what we could say was the best of these fights: Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake. Honestly, there's not much to say since all the faces are effectively covered here from how brilliant this overall fight was. Showcasing why both men are basically each other's equals and how their approaches to stealth and fighting do differ, but compliment how they would conduct themselves in a skirmish against each other. Of course with Snake being from a more "Sci-Fi" kind of background (That's them nanomachines, son) and other small factors, he would come out on top, but in the end, we do see how both men effectively had a lot of respect to each other (and how even in the later Tom Clancy game, you actually did have the older Sam Fisher actually doing his own tribute to Snake since by that time, Konami effectively all but screwed not just MGS, but all their other franchises too...). And for anyone who would say "This was their favorite fight of all time," no argument from me.

Pokemon VS Digimon is also kinda a duo fight, with one fighter "commanding" the other...And Tai winning in large part because he blindsided Red by throwing hands, confusing Charizard for JUST long enough for Wargreymon to get an opening.

Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter is such an amazing episode glad to see it’s getting it’s well deserved love.

To be honest about the Chief vs Doomguy fight... I mean it is one part "A product of its time" but another part of how if we consider what the Doom series was at the time... Yeah, that would have been likely how that ended. Not to say Doomguy got robbed, but it did seem like when comparing the two, Halo was doing far more in showcasing what the Chief could do in comparison to what Doomguy did in the various Doom games that came out before the episode in 2011. But for the fight itself, if you didn't make use of a "3D fight" and kept it to 2D, it was fairly decent. Not mindblowing, but for a season one, it was fine. But with Doomslayer and what happens between the 2016 title, Eternal and Ancient Gods... Yeah, it would definitely be great if this was one of those fights we do revisit in the future since not only would we update Doomslayer with all of the goodies he got, but Chief also got some goodies too between the few Halos games that came out too. It would be a nice way to update an older fight that would be great to see a decade later.

@@floatingf8783 One simple factor: Master Chief vs Doomslayer w ould be seen as a more even match. Whereas Samus has kind of reached a point where she apparently could take either Chief or Slayer on and come out on top with little issues. The joys of becoming "Title Character: Metroid."

nah doom 64 was canonically the last title and he had the doom eternal weapon called the unmayker In that game and also they severely underlay his strength and the demons he fight everyday strength. even with his invincibility shield doomguy did not get his invulnerability orb either. but I'm also real biased so whatever.

I’m not familiar enough with her to say for sure, but Slayer has taken the Icon of Sin (how many times have you heard this defense online?) and the Icon literally tears apart reality by just being there. Granted, Chief vs Slayer would be a stomp so Samus works better as a match for either

as a *massive* tf2 fan, i honestly would not have minded tracer winning. they seem to be somewhat comparable stat wise, and tracer has plenty of things the scout doesnt. but the inverse is just as true and DB used absolutely none of it. he used like... 4 weapons in the entire fight (one of which, bonk, was pretty horribly misused), 3 of them just being stock, he didnt *move* at all, and in the analysis, it just felt like they did all of their research in a day and called it good. if they actually made it a fair fight, with tracer still winning, i wouldn't really care. but it was just so unbelievably one sided. i want them to do tf2 again (namely Quakeguy/Ranger V Soldier) if only to just redeem themselves on the series. this just feels wrong.

One matchup I really like is Doomfist vs Saxton Hale, mostly due to how similar the two are in terms of power. Hale's 2000 psi punch and Doomfist's rocket punch are actually fairly similar in strength. Also, we know both can take a beating. Hale has survived jumping out of a plane and crashing into his office repeatedly, and Doomfist can survive the pressure of landing his Meteor Strike. Idk, it just seems like a cool matchup to me, despite how stale Overwatch vs TF2 has become in both communities.

Been waiting for this if only because we finally get to talk about sam vs snake. Still one of the best death battles ever.

I wasn't expecting the raw line and it made me laugh so hard

As a Playstation fanatic, I can't tell you how happy I am to see you praise Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter. Well, I guess you can since you could categorize me in the first of 3 groups of people that reacts to you "hot take" Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter is to me what Godzilla vs Gamera is to Nemesis. Ever since I first saw Death Battle in 2012 and learned about the idea of vs matches, this was the *only* one I wanted. Ratchet and Clank is my favourite video game franchise of all time next to Gran Turismo, and the Jak Trilogy is also really fucking great. I wanted this matchup so much due to the personal connection to the series, but also for the potential choreography, being the only fully intended on battlefield duo fight (Snake vs Sam has the partner fight in the background and Dante vs Bayonetta had the friends fight just because) and it made so much sense given the connections. So you can only imagine the reaction I found when the teaser at the end of Bowser vs Ganon, clips of Ratchet and Clank were shown. 4 long years waiting and it's finally happening. Now, I can't say this is my favourite episode of Death Battle because it does have noticeable problems, both of which were covered in this video. Daxter not being fully used, I can live with. in the Jak games, Daxter is more of a supporting character and a show off than seen being useful. There wasn't a lot they can work with for Daxter since there isn't much exciting for him to do. I'm glad Dark Daxter wasn't used because that's........fucking awful?! And honestly the fact that the most impactful hit he's done was the rocket flying into Ratchet was good enough for me, because as Ratchet fans know, the RYNO is the goat, the king, the mother of all weapons. It is still a problem though especially with his voice here being bad. My biggest issue is what happens when 1812 Overture starts playing, because yeah, the sound effects being nonexistant is clearly unintentional and inexcusable. As I said before, sound design matters so much to me, and I can't help but feel this area was rushed. It makes the fight harder to watch for me especially when the sound design in both series is excellent. But with that said, I still love this fight so much. As I said, this was my most wanted matchup and it pulled off everything I could've asked for. Ratchet pulls out so many guns and the weapons he used for the most part encapsulate what the series is about. We start off with regular pistols (Not sure why he's dual weilding them, he can only do that with the Dual Vipers, but oh well), but immediatlely after is my favourtie weapon in all of Ratchet and Clank and one of the most creative, the Suck Cannon, where he uses it to suck up Daxter and use him as ammo to hit Jak. This was the one interaction I wanted to see the most and as you said it was used in an ingenious way. This is my favourite scene in all of season 3, as brief as it is, just because of the fan service provided. Moving on, we het the Minirocket tube, to set up Daxter's main use in the fight and to simultaneously hit Jak. It doesn't fucntion quite like it does in Going Commando, where it fires rockets in quick succession, but I do appreciate that the storyboarders came up with creative uses of Ratchet's arsenal instead of sticking to their in game function. This is especially true with his next "weapon", the Holo Shield Glove (I think). Ratchet uses the shield in an actually useful way here instead of the much hated way it was used in Up Your Arsenal. I unironically like this weapon though. The next one is Mega Turrets, another creative weapon, and sets up for the coolest dialogue exchange in the fight. Then in the middle of the fight he pulls a Ryno 5! I was initially confused as to why he would pull this way too early in the fight, but I already explained with the Daxter portion and ending the fight with 1812 Overture, in spite of the problems with the actual scene, is perfect. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the next weapon he uses, the Gold Devastator. Yet another rocket launcher. I would've personally replaced it with the Scorpion Flail from Ratchet Deadlocked to better sell the creativity of Ratchet's weapon and the power of Dark Jak. But that's just a nitpick, especially since the final weapon is the Liquid Nitrogen Gun, humourously used because it's one of the animator's favourite weapons. Setting up for the kill and a very good one at that. I spent so much time talking about Ratchet because that's the franchise that means more to me, but truth be told Jak was also handled masterfully. He only uses 4 weapon mods, the blaster, Mass Inverter, Peace Maker and Vulcan Fury. The only change I would've made honestly is replace the Peace Maker with the Plasmite RPG since that's my favourite weapon in Jak 3 and it brings all 4 eco mods in harmony (Again, niptic). But I don't mind that he doesn't use that much weapons because Jak has better up close combat abilities than Ratchet, so he gets some good hits that way. And he uses eco powers, which is one of the main story elements of the Jak Trilogy. Also, can I just say how much I love the models? Aside from Ratchet, which I don't really understand why they went with his All 4 One Model when I would've prefered his PS2 model or at least his Acit one, and Daxter which doesn't show his expressive personallity as much, the rest are spot on. Clank and Jak both look very good for Season 3 standards, and I especially love seeing the PS2 weapons used in a 3D animation that isn't the source materials. Especially with how oversaturated the Tools of Destruction weapons was used in the later games. It feels almost surreal. The highlight of 3D models however is easily Light Jak. Holy crap I did not expect them to pull off the coloring and texture of this mythical form so well. Voice Acting. Aside from Daxter, everyone has great line reads. Joshua Tomar especially pulls of Clank masterfully. He doesn't sound exactly like the character, but his inflections are on point and he captures the charm and wit David Kaye brought to the table. This easily is the most underrated episode in all of Death Battle, especially since this was believe it or not a highly requested matchup. It's not another fighting game matchup, not another Dragon Ball match, not another Naruto match, and certainly not the 2147483647 Marvel or DC matches, it is a matchup between 2 unused series, both of which are not among the most popular franchises on social media, but are hugely significant to the PlayStation history, and has many great connections, to the point where the creators of both series legitimately taught each other tricks with developing game engines. It's such a shame then that this had to be released in Season 3. I understand why, likely to add hype with the 2016 movie, but in a season infamous for taking Vs debates in a wildly disappointing direction, no limits falucies with Bowser vs Ganon, pitting lore vs game with Tracer vs Scout, and completely shitting on a character with Shadow vs Mewtwo, people really forget Season 3 had fantastic episodes featuring the same strengths as Season 2. Dante vs Bayonetta, Hulk vs Doomsday, Meta vs Carolina, and of course, Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter. I love this episode. So fucking much. The lack of sound effects in the climax ensures it will never be my favourite episode of all time, and right now that honour is in battle between Iron Man vs Lex Luthor and Saitama vs Popeye (yes, an episode that recent is that good), but this is by far my favourite matchup and the fact it was amazing at all brings such a huge smile on my face, as a big fan of both series, especially Ratchet. I'm changing my previous score from 8.5 to 9.5 out of 10 objectively, but for me personally, no shit it's a 10/10.

Scout wearing the Supreme Jacket netted the like, take it, you earned it

He-Man vs. Lion-O was just such campy fun, and the voice acting and background music really comes together with the animation and tells a story, not just showing a fight. Like when He-Man yeets the mountain at Lion-O, you can hear his theme song playing very quietly, because the chorus of voices singing "He-Man" is, of course, very far away at that point.

I was not expecting you to use Earth-Shattering Thunder for the Tracer vs Scout review. Was a bit hyped when I saw my commission track in it, respect

I think the main issue with Doomguy vs Master Chief is just how slow they are, especially Doomguy. They talk about how he can outrun missiles meanwhile he just crawls ever so slowly

Written well, vs well, not perfect graphics The climbing. Rappelling (?) arrow that pulled her up, she would reasonably have that. She didn’t have to climb. Especially with her strength even a very jerky and fast speed is fine I kinda hated Frank’s fighting because it felt too short. Also kinda preferred him vs Ash. Eh.

My personal thoughts on these episodes: Bomberman vs Dig Dug: Don't remember it, and don't care enough to re-watch it. Master Chief vs Doomguy: My view on this episode has been mostly sullied by the people who want a remake just to see Master Chief get slaughtered. As someone who's considered getting into Halo and Doom for a while now, I don't want a remake of this solely to see one character get screwed over by the other, especially since I might end up popping my Halo and Doom cherries by the time it does happen. I want an episode that's not only well-animated but also treats the characters with respect. All that aside, it's a fine enough episode. Don't think I'll re-watch it though. Ryu vs Strider: Don't really remember this one either. Terminator vs Robocop: I actually really like this episode, especially since I've watched most of the Terminator movies by now. It hasn't aged well at all, but I like it regardless. Ratchet and Clank vs Jak and Daxter: I like this episode too. I don't really hear it talked about much; so it was nice to hear some good things about it. Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake: I remember liking this episode, but I do see Nem's point about it being really flawed. Crash vs Spyro: Likewise, I like this one too. It is a little short, and Crash acts like a moron at the end, even though they make it seem like he isn't. But it's still good, especially for me since I'm a Crash fan and played Skylanders when I was younger. Leon vs Frank: Even as someone who recently became a Resident Evil fan, I don't care about this episode. Maybe that's because I never liked RE 4 as much as everyone else does, but even so, my mind just draws a blank when it comes to this episode. Solid Snake vs Sam Fisher: This is a phenomenal episode. I loved back when I watched it the first time, and I still love it now, even as someone who's never played Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell. He-Man vs Lion-O: While I do like the old He-Man cartoons, this one was funny in the moment, but I have no long term attachment. Dante vs Bayonetta: This is easily one of my favorite episodes. The analysis' were great. The fight was well-animated. Everything was just perfect. Plus, I became a Devil May Cry fan last year and a Bayonetta fan earlier this year; so I like it even more now. Apparently, some people think this episode is wrong since Bayonetta was able to kill the god of her universe, but to debunk that, Bayonetta was only capable of that thanks to assistance from Jeanne. While she was holding her own, she could only truly kill Jubileus with Jeanne's help. Same with Aesir in the sequel, albeit with Baldur's help instead of Jeanne's. Dante meanwhile in Devil May Cry 2, yes Devil May Cry 2, was able to kill a god with similar power without even actually trying. In fact, he was actively bored the entire fight. This is canon. So Dante is clearly the superior of the two. Tracer vs Scout: Used to hate this episode for obvious reasons. Now I just don't care.

She killed Jubileus by summoning Queen Sheba, which did require Jeanne's help in Bayonetta 1, but in Bayonetta 2 she summons Sheba by herself alongside Balder summoning Jubileus. Also even in Bayo 1 she was still holding her own against Jubileus before Jeanne showed up. Idk if it's enough to put Dante down, especially with stuff like Mundus, but the Jubileus fight is definitely applicable to her stats

@@devilman4723 No, she and Balder summoned a fusion of Sheba and Jubileus called Omni. Bayonetta summoned half of Sheba, and Balder, with the left eye's power, recreated half of Jubileus. That's the way I see it at least.

The reason Doomguy vs Master Chief needs a remaster is just becuase of how much Doomguy has changed since then. He has new stats, more weapons, and more tools at his deposal. Master Chief also has some new tricks up his sleeve so it would be a entirely new fight.

@@bigtrent3600 That feels more like a reason that they should return to Death Battle. Not a reason for a remaster. I get that this could be a positively epic fight if done in 3D, but considering that both Master Chief and Doomguy have better and more thematic opponents in Commander Shepard and Samus Aran respectively, this one is more like a Link vs Cloud 2 situation where the person who lost gets their comeuppance mostly due to the vitriolic reaction from the fans but also due to the researchers inexperience. I'm not saying Link vs Cloud was that. After all, Link vs Cloud is an iconic matchup that deserved a remaster, but Master Chief vs Doomguy doesn't have the same weight at least for me. Plus, imagine if they did do and Doomguy won. The fans who were enraged by Doomguy losing back then are more than likely going to be like: "Haha, Doomguy won! F*k you, Halo fans! This is what you deserve after 11 years!" I very much prefer to avoid something like that and simply bring these characters back for something fresh and exciting.

I can't wait for you to talk about Godzilla vs Gamera later down the line (I know it's not in this episode)

Master Chief vs Doom Guy works perfectly fine imo except the ending. The winner makes sense. Doom GUY cannot win. But the Doom SLAYER would tear John-117 apart withoit breaking a sweat. Not that I would mind seeing a remaster.

I agree besides the fact Doom Guy is stated faster than Chief in the analysis but in animation his "running" and gunning is like hes walking through mud while chief at almost half his speed is doing all sorts of cinematic moves. But ofc its a product of its time, and hope we can get that remaster with Slayer for all the fresh animation potential. also if it ever happens, not sure what context you could write this as (maybe portal opening in some halo related area to start the fight) but mid fight would love to see a double Flood + Demon invasion and the 2 of them cleaning house, maybe even trading off kills on each others signature enemies before continuing the battle

@@RosaVitae Your idea sounds amazing, it also makes me think of the HiddenXperia/Roanoke Gaming video about the Flood vs the DOOM Demons where they talked about how the Flood actually wouldn't win that fight. As much as I'd love a remaster with all these things. Like the grapple shot from Halo Infinite. I just don't think they ever will. It would be one hell of a fight though! ... Pun was not intended.

Terminator vs RoboCop is just pure fun. The analysis was good and had great jokes, the interactions between the fighters definitely seems like how they'd actually interact, sweet one-liners and references included, the music is fitting, and the ending analysis were all so good. I really get a lot of fun, like a good, cheesy 80s action flick.

When it came to the Ratchet & Clank vs. Jack & Daxter DB, you should see Max of Few Trades' reaction to it especially since he used to work on the DB cast. They had the finishing blow being Ratchet using the Liquid Nitrogen Gun because that's Max's favorite weapon in the series

Great video the only problem is why does Snake vs Sam get a main segment and is not a bonus episode for this ONE-OFF SERIES Death Battle review did Wolverine vs Raiden just not happen

Dude Dante Vs Bayo is my favorite episode, I love so much about it and I’m so happy my favorite character of all time got my favorite episode

The One-Offs episodes (mainly Snake VS Sam, Dante VS Bayonetta and Terminator VS RoboCop) being longer than the Marvel VS DC review is very surprising, yet not surprising at the same time.

i keep forgetting ratchet and clank vs jak and daxter was so long ago, because its such a well done fight with quality id expect from say, season 5 onwards. im glad im not the only one who enjoys this, despite the fact that I havent played any of their games edit: what i did like about leon vs frank was how for frank it felt like a dead rising game, where you would constantly get better gear, weapons, and eventually his mech suit, and for leon it felt like a re boss, where frank has "phases" and leon has to react accordingly, leading to the good old rocket launcher saving the day as always. may not be the best death battle, but the characters were portrayed pretty well

Crash VS Spyro is personally an episode that gets worse the more I think about it, but the track is a fucking bop, at least. Great reviews all around, especially Snake VS Sam

Haven't finished the video just because I wanted to type out my thoughts as they occur so I don't forget. Jak and Daxter vs Ratchet and Clank is good but Death Battle REALLY underestimates Daxter. He's strong enough to change the course of a missile, he can knock around stone slabs with his kick and defeat Spider Metal Heads, he actually uses the Eco Gun when Jak is driving so he can use it in battle too. Daxter is obviously not going to be kicking Ratchet's ass but just having him be just a nuisance seems bullshit to me. He could have maybe at least knocked Ratchet down with a kick and had the Eco Gun when Jak was Dark Jak, continuing the gun fight. Plus, I have never seen Dark Daxter before, assuming he'd have access to that, I'd like to see it. I remember reading the researchers blog talking about this fight and they added EVERYTHING these two had, still coming to the conclusion that Ratchet and Clank would win, but at least having Daxter use his weapons and special forms and clearly being more capable as he can defeat Metal Heads and use the Eco Gun would have been cool. Yeah, he typically just sits around on Jak's shoulder but he can and has been useful to him so just being an annoying rat creature who redirects one missile seems bullshit to me. That's the one thing that bugs me about that fight. For Frank West vs Leon Kennedy, I absolutely hate this episode. The biggest things is what they do with Frank. They give him non canon shit instead of focusing what he canonically uses as well as the stuff he uses in fighting games (he does use the Megabuster in Tatsunuko vs Capcom so fair enough for that) and they make the baseless claim that Frank West went through the entirety of Dead Rising 1 without sleep even though there are save locations where Frank West lays down and takes a nap and he even gets knocked unconscious a few times depending on how some cases go as well as when he's first infected so he ABSOLUTELY slept at points during the Willemette outbreak so they are making shit up. As for his characterization...sadly its accurate..to Dead Rising 4 which is the worst game in the series so I hate how they used that version instead of the version everyone cares about. He's cocky, he's a bit of an asshole but he's not like THAT. I think the biggest thing is the fact that he comes off as a looter in the fight when he's not. Even in Dead Rising 4 I don't recall him ever being a looter and going out of his way to steal shit, I assume he just grabs items he needs to defend himself but the fight makes it seem like he's excited to rob a store. I don't recall even DR4 Frank being like that so where did this come from? All in all, they absolutely dropped the ball on Frank West in my opinion, giving him weapons and gear he shouldn't have, making up random theories and portraying him in a way that makes him seem like an entirely different character. I think the only other time I hated a Death Battle purely for how bad they botched one character is Link vs Cloud 2 for compositing Link even though Twilight Princess and Wind Waker show that each Link is separate as the Hero of Twilight talks to the Hero of Time and the Hero of the Winds is completely seperate from the reincarnation cycle. Sometimes they get the characters they are using, and sometimes they just don't... For Snake vs Sam, it is a really good episode, I'd say my only issue is I feel like Old Snake should have been considered, his failing health and all that since this Snake has the Solid Eye and Octo Camo this should be Old Snake. Would that change the outcome? Probably not but I am kind of bothered by the fact that Snake in his prime gets gear he gets when he's older and not in his prime but I guess it wouldn't likely matter too much and its cooler to see them both in their natural states instead of aged and slower. For Tracer vs Scout, this is an impressive episode to me because I have no connection to either game, they look cool enough to play but I have never played them, have no connection to the characters, they're both kind of...meh to me? Like other characters in their series I find more interesting and want to learn about. So basically this is an episode where I should either not really care, or like Balrog vs T.J. Combo, make me love the characters and want to play their games. What it does instead is make me hate the episode I should not actually care about and make me dislike Overwatch because it feels like their was some favoritism here like when they do RWBY. I have no love for Scout, I shouldn't care that he lost but I do because it looks like he got robbed. And let me reiterate, I have not played TF2, so if the research was inaccurate, I shouldn't know but the whole "We don't see the missiles hitting him" and literally showing the description of Bonk which has the words "You'll be dodging bullets" in it which tells me its a speed increase really just shows how awful the research was that even I can see its trash. And the research absolutely affects the quality because this is a VS show and the whole point is to see who would win, and they research to accurately determine that so you can't really discount that. They even try to accurately portray the personalities of the characters as that would effect the fight too like Goku letting opponents get stronger or Alucard letting himself get hit, so the research matters. The fact that it was researched so poorly that they even have a scene contradicting what they say a power up is, the fact that one of the run and gunners doesn't run and gun, the Golden Tree moment, this is an awful episode to me. Much like the RWBY episodes minus Wiess vs Mitsuru, it made me want to dislike one of the series because it just seems like they just wanted to hype one series at the detriment of another. The fact that this episode gave me strong, NEGATIVE feelings about a series I have never played just shows how bad it is to me. As I said, I should either be neutral or gain an interest and instead I want to avoid one of the series, nice job Death Battle. The rest of the fights I either liked or don't have any notable opinions on. These are the only four in this video where I remember having one decent issue (Daxter being useless, Snake being in his prime with Old Snake gear) or huge issues (Frank being completely wrong, clear favoritism for Tracer and shit research for Scout) so I had stuff to say. Good video on your end, only issues I had was cutting away because of a sound in the background and talking too fast. I don't know why you didn't edit those out, I guess for comedy and comedy is subjective so fair enough but for me it just seemed distracting and amateur.

Amongst these episodes my favorite is Dante vs Bayo. It has the right amount of energy, and coolness to make it an enjoyable watch. As for MC vs Doomguy, that's one episode I don't want remade mainly due to the lack of any real discussion the mu has. I feel in order to justify a remake the must not be clear cut, there needs to be a good arguments for both sides. MC vs Doomguy just doesn't have that. However that's just me, if one wants to see it redone just for the animation potential, then that's great.

The biggest reason I want Master Chief vs Doomguy 2 is to see cool stuff like a plasma sword vs crucible fight or seeing cortana and Vega interacting.

Of all the controversial opinions you've shared over the years, you sharing the tidbit about them doing Stephen Hawking dirty in the Leon vs. Frank fight was the one I least expected but am most saddened to agree with. Great fight, fun animation, but man that does kill the mood. Also the Jak vs. Ratchet and Clank fight is a low-key classic.

Is the next death battle reviews are the three power rangers and two godzilla episodes? I love so much Power rangers vs voltron and it's an awesome episodes. Also I would say Leon vs frank is underrated.

27:44 it's actually very important that the fight ended with Leon using a rocket launcher, because in resident evil games it's a tradition to kill a final boss with a rocket launcher, it's a reference to that.

There was actually something small to note with Tracer vs. Scout. Now, I know Nemesis doesn't play TF2 from the fact that he says he doesn't so he naturally wouldn't notice this. However, I play TF2 often and can call you that Scout can't use four items like he is shown in the animation. In TF2 you can only have 3 items equipped at once. Scout uses 4. Also, can see this in the game clips they use in his analysis.

My biggest gripe is having scout, the guy who's entire game plan is mobility, stand still or walk for most of the fight. What was that about? If they couldn't get that right there was no hope for anything else.

Tbh the more I think of it, the more Crash’s death saddens me. You have a character like Crash Bandicoot, a character known for his goofy and over the top death animations in his home series, and you have him die via an incineration.

Ngl you had me in the first half for Scout vs Tracer.

By technicality, they said only one sip of Bonk lasts 8 seconds, and Scout drank the whole thing so it would have a longer effect than normal.

Crash vs Spyro is a fight that I personally think genuinely suffers a bit from the research. Everyone I know who wanted Crash vs Spyro wanted to watch the PS1 trilogy Crash & Spyro fight, MAYBE the extra PS2 games at most. Nobody factors the Legend of Spyro games or the Crash of the Titans games into the MU because they're completely different continuities of the characters with their own canons and dont really even have the connections the original trio did. This is something that not only affects the outcome of the fight, but also the flow and dynamic if the fight as a whole. Legend of Spyro is a much more powerful verse than anything either franchise naturally has. So not only does it turn what would normally be a very close and very debatable fight between their PS1/PS2 counterparts with fun ability clashes, into a fight in which one character has a form that completely and utterly stomps the other. it just makes the fight... Not what I or anybody who wanted a Crash vs Spyro fight to be, as someone who really wanted that fight. Compositing really hurt this one imo. Made the fight super disappointing to me.

I realize this is late, but I do want to point out that Leon vs Frank is set up really well for a fight representing both series. Leon is a good "Psychopath" fight, where he has a strong baseline that Frank has to overcome, where Frank is more of a Resident Evil boss that evolves as the fight goes on. It's clever, I like it, I think that should get recognized more.

I play Halo 3 quite often, and tbh, the bubbleshield is faster than it looks if you slam it beneath you, but throwing a plasma AFTER would be suicide. You’d need to do it before hand then immediately slam the bubble down. It’d be more believable if Chief dodged the bfg shot first, which he can very reasonably do given his speed and jump height. I doubt Doom Marine would die from one plasma though, considering even other Halo characters with good shields can survive one.

Every time I hear 'tHe AmOgUs VeNt' in an amazing episode like Solid Snake VS Sam Fisher, it's just the most cursed shit ever, goddamnit.
