Honestly, when I considered Black Canary vs Sindel for Fan War, my reasonings back then was both are super humans who use sound attacks who are aligned with a powerful group on two different sides; Black Canary is a super hero who protects innocent people while Sindel (regardless of continuity) is a loyal servant to Shao Kahn in his world conquering army. Death Battle Wiki's reasonings are lot more bare bones and don't really add up when Black Canary is not just a fighting game character.

Man, I already felt bad about what happened to you from the prediction video. Sorry that you felt alienated. That is a pretty shitty feeling, especially when you're part of a group that was supposed to be accepting.

My legacy on this platform will be influencing Nemesis over the course of an entire year to the point where he started making references to Doug Walker, Tai Lung and Over the Hedge in his content.

After I watched Hulk vs Broly I realized that Hulk vs Doomsday is now canonically wrong in Death Battle because Hulk could come back from death and he would have come back from the killing blow in Hulk vs Doomsday.

Tbh I think the reasoning still works even with the resurrection cause their argument in Hulk vs Doomsday was that Hulk could only get so angry before his healing factor was overtaxed and thus Doomsday could eventually wear him out and even turn him back into Banner rather than overpowering his immortality, which is a point they brought up in Hulk vs Broly as well.

Your idea of grey vs esdeath sounds much better.

The more I look at Bucky vs Jason, the more my brain thinks that Bucky looks like Dan from Game Grumps so that's a hilarious visual image.

I love seeing someone with more experience with research to help me understand these fights. Not Sarcasm, just the truth. Nemesis does a great job with analyzing each second of these death battles. Great job man, keep it up!

Hulk saying “Not monster, Hulk Devil!” And “YES! SHOW ME! BREAK THE WORLD! Lines are awesome as hell in the fight. Hulk putting his head back on, the animation is actually awesome, the music is badass, and the shot of the Galaxy getting complete destroyed from the fight and the reality shatter... just beautiful.

The best part about Hulk’s Devil line is that unlike Broly’s flip, it actually makes WAY too much sense since it’s literally DEVIL HULK speaking.

To me, this season felt more quantity than quality. The animations were often very good, but the analysis... I'm starting to not really care anymore. I think I've just reached the point where I'm only coming for the fights. My favorite would either have to be Beerus vs Galaxia, or Machamp vs Goro of all things. Also, credit to Bucky vs Red Hood for renewing my faith in live action fights. That said, it's a bit harsh to criticize the deaths in live action fights. They're actual actors, so they can't just mutilate each other. Best music to Leonardo vs Red Ranger for me. As a fan of the old TMNT games, that really struck a good cord with me.

I consider season 7 as getting rid of pointless fights while making room for season 8

You know how the episode before the finale always feels pretty weak because it's obvious that they put most of their time and resources into the season finale. That's how all of Season 7 feels because Season 8 is just gonna be so big.

With Hulk vs Broly I was more deceived by the Green Door than Hulk killing Satan. Before the fight they made it seem like green door was Hulk's answer to everything and he's entirely unkillable but then after the fight it's "well really the green door isn't all that perfect"

I wish Ben and Chad can watch this so that they can do better much in season 8 and future seasons.

Listening to the Gray vs Esdeath review was hilarious

Instead of the "I'll kill you" transformation we got, imagine if we saw the debris of the planet fragmenting from its glowing red molten core as Hulk looks on from orbit. Then, the core goes green, and you hear Broly screaming eventually reaching full volume as the core explodes completely and we get a tracking shot of his scream like in his fight with Gogeta. No words, just screaming, a building score, and a show of the beautiful aura he'd have while in this state.

I have to make a confession. I actually really liked the Boomstick's Dad joke that happened while Wiz was talking about the Super Saiyan grades. The gag was so long that it became so unfunny it looped around and became funny.

I truely understand how u felt. You would think people in fandoms would be more community. I've been bullied in so many fandoms, even in one I was bullied and when I spoke back I got booted. People come together to love the certain fandom, but yet hate each other. This is why I love what I love by myself, because of people in fandoms ruins talking with others bout the thing they have in common.

Giving Genos VS War Machine a 6/10 was so generous of you

I heard the broly line as "how dare you" which is more appropriate. Also very clearly a different voice actor

I like this season so much. It has amazing EPS with a few bad ones. I will talk about the ones i had liked so much. 1- Cable vs Booster Gold : it's awesome and funny, the jokes were very funny especially the next week punch, and the animation is cool and fast with a cool ending. 2- Beerus vs Galaxia : it's how a god like character should be, the set up is nice, the poking scene is cool and the more power they use the more destruction happen which is awesome, the lines from Beerus is fantastic and Galaxia isn't half bad either, they should do eps with other characters that have this destructive power. 3- Red Hood vs Winter Soldier: This is how Nightwing vs Daredevil should have been, the fast and awesome action stand out and the fight felt like i was watching a movie and that's a great thing, the only problem that the death is suck but other than that this is one of the best fights in the show and a top 10 for me. I hope to see more live action fights like Jason vs Myers and other ideas that isn't related to either Marvel or DC. 4- Red vs Blue: i feel this fight is underrated, i enjoyed the fight and Torrian back in the action, which made outstanding results. The animation is awesome with pretty cool moments, the jokes are too funny, the music is thrilling, and the normal talking is nice. The problem is the voices are bit pitched, and the death felt rushed, if Caboose just killed Tex and maybe Dount, i would be okay with that. The ep is the one i binged RVB for it, it was worth watching Red vs Blue, the Shisno Paradox Trilogy isn't that great compared to the others but i liked Singularity, it's funny and better than 14, 15 and 16 by a country mile in my opinion. Another thing i noticed that Meta vs Carolina and Red vs Blue are hands down, the best fights since S10, i didn't watch Zero yet, i plan to watch it after all the eps are free, i liked what i saw and looking forward for what Torrian made. 5- Hulk vs Broly : It's a chef kiss. For a season finale i wanted Asura vs Broly but I'm okay with what we got, the massive destruction, the amazing scenes, the over the top moments, the science of Fuck moment, it's just so great and trying not cry from the beauty of it. Overall, it's a fantastic season with a lot of great eps, I'm disappointed from some matches as it didn't made their jobs, Zuko vs Todoroki is disappointing, Crona needed a much better opponents, Danny vs Jake should have been hand drawn even it's very good and Genos vs Warmachine should have been sprite match, Batgirl vs Spider girl is a wasted recourses, and Marvel vs DC should have been less than this many matches.

Hulk vs broly is probably my new favorite 3-D fight next to Optimus prime vs Gundam and all might vs might guy (in my opinion)

Nailed everything I had an issue with this season. It disappointed me how low the quality was in a lot of episodes in terms of research, comedy, animation, and direction. I love the show and know they can do better than this, we’ve all seen them do way better in earlier seasons. Great video man!

Great video! I agreed with a lot of your points. I also like how you talk about when a character if out of character like Todoroki for example (I hate how they portrayed him). Characters feeling like the characters is important at to me. It’s a big reason why Dante vs Bayonetta is one of my favorites as it felt like the characters being them.

Solid takes, and Happy New Year dude!

This may not be my favorite Death Battle season, but it definitely has some of my favorite episodes. Miles Morales vs Static Shock, Cable vs Booster Gold, Wally West vs Archie Sonic, Obi Wan vs Kakashi, Hulk vs Broly...just...so good. And the soundtracks! Oh my god, the soundtracks this season were just so good. Way Past Flash and Ikari both surpassed Emerald Heroes as my favorite DB track. Hulk vs Broly definitely has it's fair share of issues. Some of the jokes were not that good, the sound effects were pretty meh, the models were okay, the killing blow was a mixed bag for me, and Broly's transformations were kinda glossed over. However, despite all of that, this might have overthrown Wolverine vs Raiden as my favorite fight if not favorite episode of Death Battle. This episode did what very few episodes, if any, managed to accomplish. It made me feel like a kid again. I grew up occasionally watching DBZ Kai, and the Broly movie blew my mind when I first saw it. Then DBS Broly happened and it didn't just become my favorite Dragon Ball movie of all time, but Super Broly became my all time favorite Dragon Ball character. The fight was amazing and well choreographed. The movements were fluid and smooth, the voice acting was top notch (especially on Broly's part), and the effects are just absolutely beautiful! I love how they incorporated some of Broly's lesser known techniques like the God Bind! Attention to detail at it's finest. Now I understand your criticism for Broly speaking in proper sentences in his transformations, and I agree with that. However, part of what makes Death Battle fun is the dialogue that happens in the fight. Broly's lines were very simple, and his first line was even grammatically incorrect. So I feel it's very in tune with his character. In my personal honest opinion, that "I'll kill you" was one of the most well delivered lines in all of Death Battle history. I understand your criticism of it, but I personally loved it. Even when I had been informed of Broly winning beforehand, I felt very emotional and was rooting for Broly to win as I watched the fight. The only other fight that's made me feel emotion despite knowing the outcome beforehand was Adam vs Zeus in Record of Ragnarok. Is Hulk vs Broly perfect? Of course it's not. It certainly has its fair share of problems, both in the research and the fight. But it was still an amazing season finale, and the perfect way to celebrate Death Battle's 10 year anniversary. 10/10, here's to another decade of Death Battle.

I think what was implied with Jason's death in Red Hood vs Winter Soldier was that the retractable blade in Bucky's arm (which was mentioned in the analysis) penetrated the helmet I agree that they could've lingered and emphasized the death a bit more though

I actually love how slow saberwulf and John Talbain is for me it feels like every hit has more impact and I enjoy the sound design because it correlates with the animation well. It feels like a brutal fight and a fight between beasts and it was my personal favorite of the episode

days of booster past is still one of my fav tunes

hulk actually does speak properly in the cartoon hulk and the agent's of S.M.A.S.H and I feel like that's what they were going for at the beginning and then changed their minds.

My favorite part about the galaxy destruction shot from Hulk VS Broly is the fact that it's a direct reference to the scene were Broly destroys a Galaxy in the original Z Broly movie.

Man, this was a season of mix feelings, the Sometimes (no pun intendet) awful and sometimes good Puppet animation Style, the Aaawful sound design an the execive use of marvel / dc characters But hey, at least It's not the worst thing that has happened in 2020 In a personal note, I have to say that after what happened with Hulk vs Broly, I hope you feel better, I hope that you can still enjoying Death Battle for the time to come asi que en mi idioma materno dejame desearte lo mejor para este año 2021 y que lo pases genial

In regards to the “hulk smash” in hulk vs broly. If they were hellbent on using for that scene, I think it would have been a little bit better it went like this. Imagine before hulk the thunderclap, he says “hulk” does the clap, the explosion happens there’s a one second delay, and then we hear “SMASH!” Then hulk spears broly. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ That’s just my two sense, you’re more than welcome to have better ideas👍

Thought a lot of the soundtracks were really good this season, Therewolf Media and Brandon Yates did a really good job with these.

Nemesis, you are my hero. Giving a rewrite to Gray vs Esdeath is the greatest New Year gift you could have ever given me. I'm forever grateful. ❤️❤️

Honestly, I say scrap Esdeath vs Gray all together. Instead, they should've done Esdeath vs Juvia. They could've made it to where Juvia misinterprets Esdeath is hitting on Gray, while Esdeath misinterprets Juvia is hitting on Tatsumi. You could even have a moment where Gray strips, Tatsumi comments on it, Esdeath thinks he's jealous, Juvia gets protective, Esdeath gets protective. Then, they both realize they could try to wooh over each other's man to see who's man is more faithful. Shenanigans ensues. Eventually tho, Gray and Juvia work together to perform a combined spell with the power of clichéd "true love" bullshit because their relationship is less toxic. This kills Tatsumi, which angers Esdeath, causing her to get sloppy, opening a window for the two fairies to get the dub. You could add more context, rearrange the stripping scene, et cetera. But I do think Gruvia's more harmonized and balanced relationship should be the key to their victory, as well as their combined use of trickery, emotional manip-, Gray's stripping possibly creating an opening, et cetera. There are so many different avenues this fight could've gone down, so much wasted potential. They could've, and should've focused more on the writing. They all have warm hearts protected by cold shells, but where Gray and Juvia actually care for and about each other, Esdeath just really wanted to fuck Tatsumi, but so did Akame. Therefore: whacky, love triangle, relationship highjinks, ha ha. But that's just my opinion on one incredibly flawed and stupid Death Battle.

Having a scene where Broly transforms and Hulk jumps through a hail of ki blasts and Broly’s barrier would’ve been cool.

I think they knew that Booster vs Cable was gonna be hated so they tried to make it the best they could

I really love these reviews. Kinda helps to validate the idea of setting standards for Death Battle for me. My only big issue is that when you criticize performance, you never give audio examples of both how it was done in DB and how it has been done better, and I saw this in future videos too. It's always weird for me because the way you describe criticism with analysis explanation and methods, and how animation and characterizations is done and could be improved is really in depth especially for a smaller channel. So it gets kinda odd when I really wanna know how bad the voices were and how good they could be without having to look for it myself. I also would love a bit of your thoughts on who should have won but seeing as how that's more subjective I can see why you would avoid it. Would be nice for you to emphasize who should have one if you REALLY think they're off base though. Keep up the good work, I hope to see more of these!

This season was fine imo. There weren't many match ups I was interested, and while we had a lot of Marvel vs DC fights, this season was overloaded with them. We even had 2 match ups that weren't really needed imo which were Flash vs Sonic and Hulk vs Broly. The reason why imo is because those fights happened like so many times and I already had my favorite Sonic vs Flash and Hulk vs Broly battle, so I never really needed Death Battle to do this. Not only that, but having to wait for Madoka Magica and Fate match ups just take forever, I just hope we can see those kind of fights soon.

I agree with a lot of what you said, although I do feel a bit more positive about this season overall. It’s a mixed bag for sure, but I’d still rank it above Season 4. Not to say it’s bad, it’s still enjoyable, just not very memorable in my eyes. I’ll definitely remember Season 7 as a rollercoaster ride, for better and for worse. EDIT: Forgot to say I’m not sure whether it’s above Season 1 for me or not. Season 1’s good episodes and ironic enjoyment go a long way for me.

@@pesciisthebestcharacter5100 Oh don’t get me wrong. Season 1 has some bad episodes, but most of them are still entertaining. Granted, that’s in an ironic way, so you can definitely argue that it’s overall not very good. I just get more enjoyment out of it than Season 3, and maybe Season’s 4 and 7. That’s just me though.

Season 4’s highest and lowest points were Balrog Vs TJ Combo and Venom Vs Bane. Season 7’s highest and lowest points were Obi-Wan Vs Kakashi and Batgirl Vs Spider-Gwen. I think Season 4 is a bit better.

Missed opportunity to say super effective during the goro vs Machamp section

I must say, I'm quite grateful I don't have a mind as analytical as yours is. Not to disparage you in any way, if anything it's degrading myself, but I honestly don't notice most of the problems you have with the episodes, even after they're pointed out to me. My mind works in a much simpler way than yours does, so I find it a lot easier to enjoy each episode (aside from the ones that infuriate me, like Yang vs Tifa, Dante vs Bayonetta, Bowser vs Ganon and Cammy vs Sonya. I also generally don't have issues with matchups as long as at least one character is new to Death Battle. I was immensely disappointed when Thor vs Wonder Woman and Mario vs Sonic 2 were announced because there are so many characters that deserve a chance in the limelight, so having two characters that already had an episode fight each other takes the joy of learning of new fighters away. Doesn't help that my favourite aspect of the show is actually a side project outside of it (a DeviantArt fan project called Death Battle Arena) and every fight between pre-used characters is a fight where there is no new addition to that roster... Only other time I have issues with a matchup is if I have a preferred one in mind for one of the characters. For example, I desperately do not want Shantae vs Shovel Knight or Nemesis vs Pyramid Head because I prefer Shantae to fight either Filia or Sash Lilac and Nemesis to fight Big Daddy (because how can you make Nemesis vs Pyramid Head a good fight? One is a slow, clumsy guy with a big knife, the other has a rocket launcher, a healing factor and tentacles galore.) Outside of these two very specific situations, I'm content with whatever they gjve us and am just happy to see this roster grow. So yeah... Thank you for listening to my senseless rambling I posted at five in the freaking morning. I'mma go the fuck to sleep now.

I personally am a Chain Chronicles Fan. One of the few anime (sadly i couldnt play the game) where you feel the impact of the heroes losing in the first episode through the reactions of the common folk, the world is interesting and the twists are good and mostly well built up (SPOILERS: like that one knight losing his faith and his betrayal). Also feels like something that could well exist within the fire emblem canon.

I like a lot of what you said, but I do wish that if you’re going to attempt to critique the animation that you knew a bit more about what you were talking about in that regard. There were a couple of times where I was legitimately flabbergasted with your takes, specifically with Goro vs Machamp and Obi Wan vs Kakashi. Goro vs Machamp was a much cleaner and more impactful final product, with Machamp’s character animation feeling on par with a legitimate Pokken animation set, it’s possibly the best we have seen from this entire series in that regard. Obi Wan VS Kakashi had good moments, but the fact you said there weren’t shots that felt jank at one point made me pause back and reel in my seat. With the core DB 3D Animation Team they had at that point (if memory serves this team started at Gundam vs Optimus), it’s very obvious who is animating from cut to cut, with the traversal shots such as where Obi Wan is jumping from tree to tree being extremely bare and unpolished. You could argue it was “the force”, which I think there’s a lot that points against that argument from the quality of the movement in general in that shot, but I’d also say that it still looked rather janky and if it’s that terribly noticeable you should likely just animate the movement like a normal jump. This isn’t to discredit the animator that did that shot, extenuating circumstances might have gotten in the way of these shots getting the proper polish they deserve, but hearing you praise the animation of Kakashi vs Obi Wan so heavily despite pulling out extremely minor nitpicks with the Machamp and using them to push down the effectiveness of the entire fight (as well as a few other fights, like while I agree with most of the analysis animation-wise in Genos vs War Machine, there’s a point where you make the point of “this had more people on it than Samurai Jack vs Afro Samurai so it should have been better” is just flat out wrong, more man-power does not automatically equal a better product”) just makes me kind of discredit your entire rankings of these episodes in general. Your characterization, scenario writing and dialogue points are all extremely interesting and at the very least give some serious food for thought, but especially in regards to 3D animation I think if you don’t understand entirely what’s going into a shot that perhaps spending so long talking about the subject in great detail is counter-productive. Good video overall, and I hope my critique hasn’t insulted you.

Damn! I liked Zuko fight! That’s actually a good reason, better than shown, I can agree. Probably just me. They did show dimensional in a super weird way to survive the wish power. Though the death of Sonic shows dimensions with multiples of Sonic. Really loved Sabrewulf fight. Fair problems. If the moon had been the reason he didn’t care maybe or he just gave up (don’t really show that, they did mention losing hope I think).

51:07 I’m definitely biased towards Jason, but i absolutely hate the Death Battle for leaving out Jason’s Chest Taser. Venom is barely used in the comics and is included in his arsenal, his chest taser was used for several “modern day” runs but was completely left out. While I’d be fine if the chest taser was a weapon that Jason had that didn’t match up with anything else in his arsenal, the chest taser has some genuinely crazy feats, that in my opinion, would have definitely turned the fight around with a win.

I hope season 8 won't have too many marvel and dc characters

The only comic character they've announced is Dr. Doom, yeah, Doom is coming back. Whether or not they're bringing God-Doom into the discussion I'd say it would be interesting to see how they reanalyze him.

Look I love Gray vs Esdeath as a battle and love both characters, I do understand, respect, and agree with your points. But as a matchup I like it because it’s Stripper vs Dominatrix with ice powers and I think it’s funny. Although I do think your interpretation of what the death battle should be is better.

@@pesciisthebestcharacter5100 I just thought season 7's high points were spread way to far across the season. The only episode this season I'd give 8-9/10 to would be Goro vs Machamp, Obi wan vs Kakashi, Red Hood vs Winter Soldier and Hulk vs Broly. That's 4 episodes out of a 20 episode season.

Favorite fight is Cable vs Booster Gold "The Greatest Super Hero No One Ever Heard Of"

Since my first comment was considered too big and don't feel like shortening it, I'll sum it up by saying that this was a quantity over quality season, but I agree with you in that this was their first attempt at something like this, plus the Pandemic didn't help, and hope that the next season will go down as one of their best seasons. And I'm sorry if I made you feel alienated if you read my comment. I just felt so defeated at that time that I thought that was a place to vent. I hope you don't have to go through something like that again and hope the next season will bring your spirit back up. Favorite episodes for this season include Goro vs Machamp Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Kakashi Hatake Sarbrewulf vs jon Talbain Miles vs Static Cable vs Booster Gold Red Hood vs. Winter Soldier Wally vs Archie Sonic Hulk vs Broly Beerus vs Galaxia Matches that are a mix bag for me are Wally vs Archie Sonic Hulk vs Broly The Reds vs The Blues Beerus vs Galaxia Matches that made me dislike it for one reason or another include Genos vs War Machine Zuko vs Shoto Venom vs Crona The Reds vs The Blues Wally vs Archie Sonic Hulk vs Broly Sanji vs Lee Batgirl vs Spider-gwen And any other matches I didn't mention is because they didn't really stand out to me even though some of them are ok like Danny vs Jake and Leo vs Jason.
