Every 5.56 in the game feels like a 7.62, and every 7.62 feels like a .338 semi auto gun, it's crazy to think our characters are supposed to be trained PMC's yet hold guns like they have arms made out of cooked spaghetti.

The recoil is one thing I'll never get about Tarkov. For a game that embraces and clearly cares about realism in so many other facets, they really dropped the ball on the recoil mechanics. As it is now, you are punished for using semi-auto, and are rewarded for just going full auto all the time. It unfortunately makes all the cool semi-auto guns they add basically useless at late game pvp, and ensures its just AR's with the biggest mags you can fit.
@y0h0p38
Жыл бұрын
They just changed it because so many peple cried about pre 12.12 recoil where M4s and HKs were meta because you could beam people from 100+ meters on full auto. Pretty much the recoil right now is like your PMC doesn't control recoil at all, while pre-12.12 was your PMC controling most of the recoil. Its a weird mix of almost like CS:GO where the character doesn't control recoil at all, and like CoD where the character controls a lot of the recoil

it used to be more accurate, but then everything was a laser beam and people complained dunno what you're talking about with the semi auto though, most semi auto guns are great for recoil, like the sr25 and m1a, that's why they removed them from the flea recently burst is the problem, since they still have the initial burst of recoil from fully automatic it makes burst fire absolutely useless I'd also expect pretty much all recoil values to be changed on full release as they did mention that they'll be rebalancing EVERYTHING

Thank you Jonathan, really love all the insight on how all of these guns could/should/do work. Appreciate you taking your time to make these videos for us!
5:18 you can 'quick reload' the cylinder with double tapping R. The slow reload is so you can only pull out the expended casings and preserve ammo.
There are still two reasons to use a revolver over a magazine fed pistol. Revolvers still work better or are easier to handle with large caliber rounds as they don’t have to worry about moving slides and such being big enough to eject the large rounds, particularly rimmed ones. Revolvers also are very difficult to jam, which may be a factor in a scenario like that game.
Coming back after a year and the ADAR review is spot on with how the recoil system is now.
2 videos on tarkov in 1 month? COOL! I hope you are able to get SPT AKI and setup an account for him on it. It would be so entertaining to watch him build guns in his little hideout.

The problem with tarkov is that you have skills that you have to level up like Assault Rifles and Recoil Control which both give you better handling of any assault rifle. In real life anyone could hold an AR 15 or any 556 based weapon and hold it steadier than we see in the videos but once you level up those skills it's very realistic and guns behave just like they do IRL, for full auto you see like an initial kick then with your strength you can make it steady.
