Have you ever tried grating frozen butter?....I get some fantastic results with this approach. Just grate it over the flour, tossing it every few times to keep all the pieces separate and you get a wonderfully even dispersal.

I'm wondering, instead of using a round biscuit cutter, just cutting them into squares, so you do not have to re work the dough
I love this guy, he is a pleasure to watch, very entertaining. Easy recipes to follow for a guy like me that's not an expert in the kitchen. The extra goodness from his recipes for bread and cookies is a fantastic bonus.
Great 🥰 it must be so satisfying to taste at the same time, homemade biscuits and honey from your own beehives. Save the bees🙋🏽♀️😁
omg i made these. I also have made numerous biscuit recipes on my search for the perfect biscuit. THIS IS IT! I have even tried John's previous homestyle biscuit recipe from a year ago which i did not like. THESE right here are what biscuit dreams are made of! You the man John!
Man let me tell you! I just made these for breakfast and OMG! Perfection! I also used your Key Lime and Sweet Potato Pie recipes…, changed my life! Your cucumber salad too! You are making me a better cook! Love your channel! ❤
I love the details of technique that you share! Thank you!!❤
Just made these following your recipe, it was a success. I’m so pleased with how you explain your recipes. Thank you so much.
Thank you for always being a reliable baking channel I can come to when I need help learning a recipe. I have these biscuits in the oven right now for my partner. Made them with homemade butter/buttermilk. I love that I can always make one of your recipes with confidence that it’ll be excellent
My Mom loved Buttermilk; she’d make biscuits just about every weekend, I’d brown some country style ribs and slow cook(eight hours)I’d fix her plate with a biscuit - she was in heaven. Thank you for the recipe and letting me remember more fun times with Mom
Hiya guy!! Love your buttermilk biscuits! I’m rubbing my hands getting ready for the chocolate crinkles recipe watch!! They remind me of the holidays so much and my mom and I baking them together out of our Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook! Thank you 😘
When I was a little girl, I would see my grandmother enjoy buttermilk and cornbread mixed together. I tried it and it was delicious!! I was amazed!!💕🤗
I grew up in Arkansas and hot cornbread in cold buttermilk was part of a fast weekend dinner. I had forgotten! This recipe is the bomb!
Absolutely love watching you make your delicious recipes ❤

I have to say that I’ve tried a few of your recipes but these buttermilk biscuits take the cake they were amazing. Thank you for sharing.
I just made these and they came out awesome with lots of layers! Yum Yum! Super easy recipe and great technique tips! Thank you!
I made them today my eldest of six said they were the best in the world!!! The children indeed enjoyed helping. Thank you for the tip with the folding that is what my biscuits were missing!
When I was growing up, my mom read us Laura Ingalls Wilder books, and the description of buttermilk was so amazing I knew I must like it! I drank it fairly often. It came with “real butter flakes.” 😄 I still enjoy the flavor. Thanks for another great video!
Happy Thanksgiving Preppy Kitchen. I wish I could post fotos. My biscuits were very high at least two inches plus and unbelievably flakey. So flakey I Had to carefully transfer from sheet to basket. Family was raving. Living at almost 8,000 feet, my goal has been to make the best fluffy biscuits and I finally achieved it, thanks to you. I think that the added teaspoon of baking soda (that you almost forgot) did it. It’s not in your basic biscuit recipe. Everyone took some home so will have to make a small batch tomorrow morning to make the tiny turkey sandwiches. Pillsbury dough boy, thanks for the memories, but we are not purchasing you anymore.
I love your work, edit style, your recipies and your bees now too!!🎉
They look so delicious! I am now prompted to go into my kitchen and make these fluffy biscuits! Thank you Chef!❤
Just made these. They are AMAZING. Fantastic recipe
These look so incredible! Just how I love them!
Seriously the only recipes I will ever trust! I am saving this one.
This is perfect timing for the holidays coming up. You made it look easy, thank you :)
All the biscuit recipes I ever read say never use a rolling pin to roll out your biscuit dough! Thank you for this video loved seeing you use a rolling pin and still getting beautiful biscuits as a result!
You are the best. Now my daughter wants to cook with me. Your recipes are amazing!
I love all your recipes I watch your videos all the time you are a wonderful cook
Only as a child? I still enjoy a glass of ice cold buttermilk- especially on a hot summer day😃
Will try this out this weekend for biscuits & gravy! 🤤
Growing up in South Africa, in Durban, land of the Zulus, fermented milk called Amasi. maas or Inkomasi, so basically buttermilk, was very popular. I used to love eating it in a bowl with sugar, but it was also consumed as a drink. Good memories...

I had fun making these tonight and they turned out great!!
This recipe reminds me of when I was in homemade class in HS, making a layer pastry crust. We usually used it for a Curry Puff, a famous Southeast Asian snack.
Fantastic cooking videos. Also congrats on having the most beautiful kitchen.
Awesome and mouthwatering looking recipe ❤can’t wait to try it out. Your videos are so inspirational

Made these buttermilk biscuits today..and They turned out Wowww...crispy outer and soft inside..with the honey butter, is something else..Thank you, Preppy Kitchen for this super recipe. 😊
Great Biscuits John… It was very nice watching you make it.
Slowly but surely I am becoming a fan of this channel, have already made brownies banana bread and muffin following your recipe and now on to biscuits!! ❤
Yay for the scrappy biscuit. I can’t understand how some people just throw away the dough that doesn’t fit into their cutter.
I tried them, not too bad for my first time baking from scratch. Thank you 😊
Thank you for this! My family loves these biscuits . Every single time I have had them, I have to make a second batch.

As for the comment about drinking buttermilk. You may enjoy what my grandmother does. She crumbles up cornbread and pours buttermilk over. Looks like an Appalachian breakfast ceral. She loves it.
My favorite biscuit!!!
This looks amazing! More fluffy than the scones. will do this tomorrow! Miam!
Fantastic!
7:04 No twisting the cutter! Twisting can seal the edges! You'll get an even higher rise! 💖🌞🌵😷
Thank you. I plan to make them for Thanksgiving.😊

Buttermilk and the detritus from making butter are not the same. Buttermilk is cultured with bacteria. Google it.
Hi John. I actually grew up drinking buttermilk. I would pour some in a small bowl add a few drops of tapatio and salt and pepper warm up some corn tortillas. Yum
