    wait. -old woman with distraught lonely life. -yarny collects old memories of youth and shit like that. -worn-out photo album being restored with life. holy fucking shit the symbolism is foreshadowing and I don't like that. I've yet to play this so don't take my word for it but I'm getting a "To the Moon"-esk vibe. If it turns out how I think it will then this is gonna be one hell of a feel trip.

    +OlafPawbelt I don't know anything about this game beyond what I've seen in this video, but I can tell there's some sort of metaphor for Alzheimer's going on. The little old woman's photo album is faded and damaged (memories), but Yarnie is recollecting parts of it and restoring it to the album. Also, once this connection is made the games title makes sense on a new level. People who suffer Alzheimer's have their memories "unravel". This is just deductions made by seeing the game, no outside reading required.

    While the story does seem to have more of an Alzheimer's theme, I believe I read somewhere that Yarney and the red thread was supposed to represent how the further we get from the things and people we love we seem to unravel and become a bit more incomplete (such as how Yarney needs more thread the further he gets from the beginning of the level and checkpoints). It was something like this, though I may be a bit off.

    Heard you say that you didn't know where it took place Cry. Well let me tell you - Its set in Sweden! The cottage, a very stereotypical swedish red cottage with white corners suggests this, but also there are various objects in this episode that have swedish text written on them. For example, the tin at 16:58 reads "A prime blend - Palles tea"

    That's such a unique and clever concept. Damn, Sweden is really growing as a game developing country. It's kind of fun to see all the little details that clearly set the game in Sweden, like the pillow and the kurbits painting stuff and the hedgehog and the thistles. Being Norwegian, this game gets me sort of nostalgic 'cause we have a lot of that stuff here too. Very cute game indeed.

    I know this game is old now and it's 2020, but I always come back to watch this game. It makes me feel emotions that I always want to feel. I love how there aren't levels, but titles, to the different parts of it and I love how the music and the atmosphere let's you go at your own pace, as if the game is saying, "take your time and enjoy yourself. Look at that butterfly or flower a little longer. Enjoy that breeze and sunlight for a little while...." I think that's why I'm drawn to it all the time. The music, graphics and the sound of Cry's voice really makes me think of happier simpler times. Keep doing you Cry cause you bring a atmosphere of pure happiness to others and us. We love you. Never change.

    Y'know Cry, for a while I've been wondering why I'm subscribed to you. Not just because of a lack of videos, but because you've seemed kinda... sad lately. Undertale was one of the few games that reminded me why I like, because when you're all happy and enjoying a game it's a lot of fun to watch you too! I believe I commented about something similar on your Ori and The Blind forest lets play, because that was another game you were enjoying so much. This video is also reminding me why I'm still subscribed to you. Cause when you enjoy the game, you're enjoying your job, and that makes it much better for us too. I'm hoping to see more of this later in 2016. And I think this game takes place in Sweden, based on what it said on that one couch pillow in the beginning, and the Tin can in the greenhouse.

  • @mellwie
    @mellwie8 жыл бұрын

    At the pillow in the beginning it says "Happiness blooms from small simple things" and it's in Swedish. And later around 16:58 at the "tin" it actually says "Prima Blandning, Palles Te" in Swedish and in English it's translated to "First rate mixture, Palles Tea" (Palles is a name), so it's tea that you drink and not pellets or whatever you said Cry ;) Really beautiful game. It really reminds me of my childhood as I pretty much grew up in the country in Sweden. I miss those days...

    Hey there, Cry. I've been watching your let's plays for a while now. What I love most about them is how soothing they are. The combination of your voice and the games you play, whether it's this or Firewatch or SOMA or Undertale, etc. there's a zen to it. I guess you can say there's a child-like innocence and happiness I see in your let's plays. I assume this is the equivalent feeling people get from reading books. I'm no reader, but I love how it feels to be immersed in the story as you play. It's a feeling I don't feel anywhere else besides your let's plays. I've been suffering from depression since middle school, and I want you to know that your let's plays help me get through the day when I'm in my darkest of times. So thank you Cryotic. Thank you very very much.

Summers here Is a huge contrast to our cold white winters wich makes it kind of worth the wait as it is truly the time for life and joy😊

    Cry, I know you're most likely never going to read this (Goodness that is SUCH a cliche line..) HOWEVER I would like to say something to you. Of course, I'm a fangirl. I enjoy just about everything you do on the internet. But I know that can sometimes make people uncomfortable... so I try to keep my crazy to a minimum. I think you're pretty cool, though. You really help me. Maybe not, directly, but you do. Sometimes when everything just seems to go wrong, your videos can make me smile. (oh. my. goodness I am being such a freakin' cliche.) I mean, you're hilarious. But it's your appreciation for games that really gets me. You're really smart haha. Okay, ummm, yeah, you're fricken' cool. I adore your videos. I watch your streams every chance I get, and I do free up my Saturday nights to watch Late Night w/ Cry and Russ. I know that fame might feel a bit... uneasy? If I were in your shoes I wouldn't want to leave the house... But I'm really glad that you ARE well-known. Without you, honestly, I'd still be going through some pretty unsavory phases. So, I guess the point of this whole comment is, thank you? Yeah, thank you. I really appreciate everything you've done, and I'll be a fan till the end. :) Later, friend.

I like it a little bit, but I wouldn't miss it much if it just stayed warm all year long. However it does kill/make the bugs hibernate for about 6-4 months every year, so I sometimes prefer snowy winters more than blissful summers for that reason alone.
