Am glad the Veteran daughter’s got her father a seat on her flight in which his daughter was the pilot. Am glad the Veteran got to his union with his comrades. Thank you Veteran for your service. A late Veteran son thanked the Veteran who saved his father in war. How sweet and humbling.

This just goes to prove my point that you should never underestimate the people that you deal with or disrespect because it will come back 10 times worse and as I'm concerned disrespect a Veteran is a mistake on anyone just because he is a Veteran!!!

I was in Kuwait . My lady friend and helper from the filipines with me . She had not been home in 7 years , I ended that . In my room , on the computer I paid a round trip for her , I gave her the ticket reciept and itenerary , she had no idea what all that was . Later she told her sponsor she did not see any money ? Bur at the ticket counter she gave the paper , she got her ticket and boarding pass . I made sure she had plenty of money and gifts for her kids . All went well , what a XMAS she had .

I know that there are times when blocking someone may seem kind of mean, but I don't find this to be funny at all. These veterans has fought for all of us. I know in the tiny little worlds of some of the commenters that this is a fake story. But in reality, this could be a real story. It is true that many of us hate the world of reality because of the shootings and the greedy corporations and the greedy politicians that support the great big corporations and we all sometimes prefer our tiny little worlds. But I don't see anything funny about this story at all. If I sound mean, I don't care. This is about learning to respect our elders and our veterans.

My dad was Vietnam vet. His unit got bombed near a bridge there. Most of his unit wasn't recognizable. His only memory was hearing a chopper . He noticed he only had one identification on him. He some how got up and ran, jumping into helicopter. The men their helped pulled him in... He was paralyzed from waist down. That was last time he ran.. He'd tell me growing up if God didn't pick my a** up, you'd wouldn't be here..I also want to thank those men who yank his butt out of there too..

Ok, if I understood it correctly, airport personal was repremented for doing their job and the pilot gave 1st class ticket for free to her father like she owned the airline. And the old man deserved the special treatment not because he was a veteran but because he was a relative of some airline employee. What was the moral of the story again?

True, but many "make believe" stories are enjoyable. This one tells a heartwarming story. On the other hand, although it does tell the story well enough for many to enjoy, it is not "great literature" and will never win any serious literary prize, IMO.
