I was a student at the University of Nebraska when Mark Harmon led UCLA in its stunning upset of the Huskers in their season opener following two National Championships. I was shocked, but I've since become one of his biggest fans. One of my favorite NCIS clips is when some kids lost their football while playing in the street. Gibbs picks the ball up and motions to one of the kids to run out. He then smiles as he throws a perfect spiral. No stunt man or CGI needed. Harmon was one of the best in the world for that shot.

What a great video about an Interesting, talented man. I saw the JAG shows that started NCIS and never missed an episode until around the 12th or 13th season. Too many of the OGs were gone and, like Hollywood, the new characters were getting too 'woke' and unrealistic. Too many writer changes and they forgot or never understood 'The Rules'. I can only hope this new show will be worth watching. I really liked Pam Dawber on Mork & Mindy and it's great to see a marriage survive Hollywod. All the Best to him and those he cares about.

I loved NCIS and many other series. NCIS has somehow did what most can't. I stopped watching series because today, it seems like just as they start getting interesting, they get cancelled; p***s me off..LOL...So now I wait until they have at least 5 years running and then I might watch the repeats on a rainy Sunday.

I miss Mark Harmon ( Gibbs ) always loved his character! Fabulous show so not know about someone being responsible for his leaving and really if true he was on there from the beginning that should never have been allowed if it is in fact true!! He was the show!! Great actor always!!!

Without Gibs, i stopped to watch NCIS. That is over. He was born at September 2, 1951, my self at September 20, 1959 and he was still is my hero. As an US Marine SC veteran i life by his rules. Strange it is but he had a lot of influence on me. I will never ever forget him.

The real reason for an actors removal from a show is rarely revealed. They often say it was mutual or actor moving onto different roles. They usually have non disclosures to stop bagging the show so if we didn't hear why, I'm not surprised.

I can't say I knew all of this, but I knew a huge part of it. What I hate most is it whatever I read and the start of it looked like it was going to say why he left other than he wanted to work on other projects.

I quit watching NCIS after Mark left. It just got shitty.

That was the best show ever.

The only one of his roles that was a head scratcher, and would have people 37 kinds of offended these days was "Tuareg". GREAT movie. But if a white guy was cast in that role today... holy shit

Leroy, Abby, Ziva, Donald, Tim, and Dinozzo were peak NCIS. As each one left the show, the show got weaker and weaker. Attempts to add new agents, just didn't gel with the pure magic of the golden years. That chemistry just worked. And when the actors left, the replacements just didn't fit. The spell was broken, and the show faltered. I stopped watching when the Dinozzo character was written out. I know Weatherly had other things he wanted to do, but that broke the camels back for me. Ziva leaving hurt, but Dinozzo broke the show for me.

He is a great actor and I wish she still was on NCIS

Mark Harmon made NCIS what it is. I lost interest 1 season after he left. He deserves his retirement but McGee should have been team leader!

They forgot about the TV show 240 Robert in the late 70s it's about a sheriff's rescue unit. I thought it was pretty good when I was a kid. I think it was only one season though.

He most definitely would have been drafted but he made it known he had no interest in playing at the next level. The NFL was of no interest to him.

Well Mark Harman knows how Abi felt she loved NCIS but had to leave because of him . So If another actor (female)got rid of him its justice for Abi as she was fantastic in NCIS and greatly miss its never been the same .😂

We used to love him then he got power hungry, took over the show, became difficult for people to work with so he's getting a little of it back.

Mark Harmon is old. He's in his 70s. He has enough money to live far more than comfortably for the rest of his life. He can retire. The show should have ended a long time ago.

Abbi was the most annoying character in NCIS

I am not overly fond of Mark Harmon.... he has turned into the typical spoiled brat that is horrible to those who resist to being treated badly.

Ages ago I liked that show until I grew up and realized it's nothing more than a giant propaganda platform for the genocidal Israeli apartheid colony and glorifying Mossad, not to mention a giant advertisement for the military-industrial complex in general. Yeccch. I'd never support that show again now.
