    You have probably saved my life! 3 yrs ago, neighbors from hell, sleep deprived, massive caffeine. For 3 yrs food would empty from my stomach within 2 hours of eating (and chest pains, hair loss, etc- sleep deprivation). Barely functioning. Muscle loss, eventually TIAs. Neighbors got a conscience, I got to sleep, stomach still a mess, nervous system shot, and depression became the norm. (64 yrs old- heals slow!) I watched all of your videos on Thiamine. Started taking Bentotiamine, then added Thiamax, potassium, magnesium, b12, iron- adding things as i can afford.... and cut out gluten. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THREE YEARS, food stays in my stomach! OMG! Depression starting to lift. Actually physically functioning for more than a few hours a day. Brain fog lifting. Next? Adrenal fatigue and oxalates! (I'm NOT a science type of person, this could take awhile! LOL!) I am mentally on my knees to God in appreciation for your work and passion for sharing. Thank you!

    Elliott you and Daphne in the first video I saw you in, literally saved my life. I watch your excitement which is the same excitement I feel My problem is my friends and relatives think I've lost my mind to have the audacity to think B1 can make a difference, let alone a BIG difference. They ignore me. My Parkinson's has stopped progressing and some symptoms have even reversed. I can't imagine the forces that you must deal with who wish you would be quiet. You are a brave hero to me and just this week my neurosurgeon released me back to my primary doctor for care because my Parkinson's no longer runs my life, thanks to you and only you. If you want to try a ‚spring‘ diet in combination for 2 - 3 month this actual spring would be the perfect timing. Because high *carbohydrate* diet (autumn/winter) would deplete not only B-Vitamins but also other Substances where there are still thousands unknown! I would reduce B1 too, if I‘d reduce Carbohydrates generally. Please avoid high fat, medium carb which is often called ‚the worst diet‘. By spring diet I mean lots of fresh sprouts, Highest Omega-3 content foods, don’t wash plant produce if not necessary to program the microbiome to ‚spring mode‘. And very important please: DONT EAT LESS. Just optimise for max fresh and raw. I bet with you all you would loose a few pounds anyway, *and still build muscle* and get in form for *summer* 🙏🌞🙏

    This is crazy!!! I’ve been virtually bed ridden for the last 3 years. My main symptom that’s unbearable is stomach pain/cramps, but I got so poorly with so many other things, diagnosed with POTS, and high diastolic Bp on exertion, severe double vision and blurred vision, muscle pain, such severe fatigue i couldn’t dress myself and felt like I was walking though treacle, I have had diarrhoea but sometimes randomly constipated but not often, balance issues, dizziness, nausea, pins n needles in my arms and numbness in my legs, fluid retention/edema but my heart has been checked and ok, tachycardia, chest pain and palpitations. I’ve been misdiagnosed by so many different hospitals and doctors. It seemed to have started after I had sepsis & c diff and nearly died, that wiped out my entire immune system, I also have bowel adhesions from endometriosis and although I’m over weight as I’m unable to hardly move & was put on special soups from a dietitian as I can’t digest any solid food, the soups are PACKED with calories. But before hand lived on potatoes, rice, carbs basically. I came across Elliot’s video and started on 900mg of benfotiamine and I kid you not within 12 hours I felt the best I’ve felt in 3 years!!! My stomach pain was the best it’s been in years and I also added in b12, vit d & k2, a b complex & magnesium & allowing and I keep getting better & better and actually went out for a meal for my daughters birthday yesterday which again I haven’t managed in 3 years. This is definitely no coincidence. My GP knew VERY little about it and said he’s happy to prescribe me high dose thiamine but I gather this be water soluble and think the benfotiamine is surely better? I have noticed things have not been improving as much this week and want to try thiamax ttfd. But I have a few questions about it, and whether I shud use high dose thiamine from my doctor and ttfd together, I’ve tried to email Elliot and comment on his videos but no reply. This has changed my life and saved my life as a week before I found Elliot’s video and started thiamine , I thought about ending it all as I couldn’t take the pain anymore. And still don’t understand how thiamine deficiency can cause such severe stomach pain? I am still in pain but as it’s only been nearly 2 weeks I’m hoping it will keep improving over time. I didn’t know what type of doctor is experienced in thiamine deficiency so I found it’s usually a neurologist? So asked to be referred to one. I forgot to mention I had a brancial cyst removed from my neck also 6 years ago and it’s been mentioned that there could possibly have been damage to my vagus nerve! I’m on very high dose opioid for my pain otherwise couldn’t live in such pain, and I don’t know if the opioids are causing possible gastroperasis or it was already there from damage to vagus nerve. But I go toilet 3-4 times every morning so didn’t think that my digestion was slow? But don’t understand it enough. I just don’t know where to go from here, how long to take high dose ttfd or benfotiamine, is 900g enough if so how long shud I take it for, shud I be taking all the other supplements or shud I ask for a blood test to check my levels. My doctor said he didn’t know of a blood test for thiamine, so I don’t know where to go from here. It would be really helpful as Elliot’s videos have pointed me in the direction that’s literally saved my life but now I’m stuck on where to go now and he doesn’t reply so I am so worried things will go back to where they was. Which was living hell. Thiamine deficiency should ALWAYS be thought about with all these symptoms, and even without a thiamine deficiency it don’t hurt to take it as a supplement anyway to at least see if there is a difference. In my case there was a HUGE difference in the first week. Would really appreciate anyone’s advice especially Elliot’s if he sees this 🙏🏻

    I’ve been taking the Benfo and Ttfd now for nearly 2 weeks. I feel my mood shift to a little more motivation for a few hours after each dose, I also notice my body temperature rises. Having hashimoto’s it runs really low. It also relieves some anxiety and pain. I am also taking extra b vitamins, magnesium and added a glutathione supplement as well. When I started I did not have any obvious paradoxical reactions so I rapidly increased my dosages of both. I notice the mood lift and other benefits doesn’t last but for a few hours, or less. I’m thinking of taking less but taking it more often. Being I’m an insomniac I’ve been scared to take it at night in case it contributes, but perhaps I will tonight because I may have less anxiety?

    Take b1 in the morning and magnesiumglycinate in the evening. Take care of too much MG because it activates COMT and depletes dopamine and adrenaline what can you make depressed

    I didn’t know you can take ttfd & benfotiamine together? I’m taking 900mg of benfo and had literally life changing results in just a matter of days, but I’ve noticed after 2 weeks the benefits are slowing down so was thinking of trying ttfd. But just don’t know what dosage of both to take and if to take together for best results etc

    For a month or more I took huge amounts of Benfo 1000 to 2000 mg divided doses. And Ttfd I did 600 or less daily total. I added some HCL as well. I couldn’t afford to keep it up as I ran out. Lately for the last couple months I only do 300 benfo, once a day. My body temp has resumed to very low, often 95.? degrees only, no matter how much thyroid supplement I take. Being I can’t relieve this depression , I haven’t made money in years. No insurance, no help. I’m thinking of getting back on high doses of b1. It just costs a lot to afford all the cofactors. I’m thinking it must be what brought my body temperature up for a little while? After I wound up slowing down on my b1 due to the expense, I doubled my methylated b complex. I heard from a woman with similar issues it really helped her after a week or so of taking it. I think it helped a bit but once again due to no funds I’m just doing one dose of b complex, and my temp has plummeted sine.

    It seems to me that if the vagus nerve is as strategic -as some think-why is it that the digestive system and other systems continue to work fine even after the VN is cut surgically? My brother-in-law had his cut at 16 because of an ulcer. Obviously before they came to understand it is caused from a virus/germ etc. He never developed any GI issues or any other major disorders. He is in his mid 70s and recently developed tachycardia. It didn’t seem to affect him to the degree that it seems it would have if it (VN) were so strategic ??

  • @EONutrition

    @EONutrition

    It depends on the extent to which the VN is cut. As I said in the talk, the gut can work *somewhat* independently, but it cannot work completely independently. The research is quite clear RE the effects of vagal action on the gut, and that is by far the best way to understand thiamine's role in addressing chronic gut issues, I THINK. That said, it also appears to work directly on the cholinergic neurons of the enteric nervous system itself. So it can be a site-directed action we are seeing as well
