Ryan, we do things so much alike. Always paying attention to detail and doing things correctly! I’ve always said “if a job is worth doing then it’s worth doing right the first time”. I’m anxiously awaiting the engine build! I will be riding with you in “spirit” on that first test drive. It won’t surprise me if you don’t drive it until after all the snow is gone and the weather warming up. I just don’t believe you want to get anything dirt or debris on that new undercarriage paint. Thanks for the video!

Heck yeah man! If I get the engine all complete before the snow melts, it will be hard not to take it for a drive but I will resist to keep my undercarriage clean 😢

Really nice work Ryan. Good call on the hinges. A very visual part of the engine compartment, they also get a workout and need to function smoothly without binding from too much paint build. The rest looks superb. There is something very satisfying about cleaned and well restored suspension. Especially the front. Never been able to put my finger on why - maybe safety, or handling, not sure. But I always find myself looking it over multiple times when the job is done, enjoying how how good it looks. I’d guess you’ve done the same. Looking forward to the engine, etc.. 👍👍

The car is going to look amazing! One little "trick" I do when messing with coil springs is that I take a vehicle tie down strap and loop it through the spring and connect the ends to the subframe on the opposite side. That way it can't potentially launch itself across the room and hurt people or damage things. I'm curious if you have a running total of parts/dollars invested. We have one going for our second gen and it's starting to get up near where I budgeted for the total build lol. Oh, and BTW, I've had the same experiences with OER products. For claiming to be "original reproduction" parts, we sure do have to massage them a lot.

Come’n along real good. This is the best bearing packer that I have ever used. It even forces out the old grease when it’s time to do a repack. A friend of mine who works at a GM Dealership as a mechanic ordered it for me. www.matcotools.com/catalog/product/bp34550/handy-bearing-packer/ Too bad GM didn’t have a metal stop for the lower springs instead of a 2 hole gauge.
