What a clean beautiful 70 Charger.

This video inspired me to do up my 80 camaro. 7 months later. Im on the road! Loving it . great video. And those front end springs were a pain in the butt.

I had a 70 I made into a fake z28 but with blown , dual quad 454😁 This was back in 86. It was crazy scary fast.

24 years to build his Charger R/T. Damn I was barely born when he bought it. Took me several months to build my 70' Firebird. Been sitting for 12 yrs. Mostly rebuilt the parts and r&r worn parts. Man I love driving her. Annoying thing about driving her. People always tell me "Is it for sale"! Never I reply 🤘

Lol a full suspension kit for a second gen is only 2.5k. All these parts don’t cost much

You guys do awesome work, always good videos to look forward to and I'm always learning.

I always liked the second gen camaros. My old tunnel ram 540 was so stable at 175 mph it was unreal. Not sure if that was good for the tko 600 to wing it hard in overdrive but oh well it was fun.

Did y'all notice the crude falling out when they used compressed air tools LOL. I thought they cleaned it all out, I guess not. Plus they drilled a hole in the frame for the rear sway bar and did not paint it, rust, rust, rust.

Remember when restoring the under side of the floor that Norwood built Camaro's were done in red oxide primer and LA built Camaro's were satin black paint.

Hot tip for CA builders. In California if you spend more than the car cost on restoration, DMV will want to register it with a SALVAGE title. You should never let them know what you have done.

They have a Dyno cell but they don't have that kind of spring compressor

Would you recommend polyurethane bushing and mounting?

What company did the motor mounts come from & what's th part # ?

307.....owned one in a Nova. That had to be the roach motor of all time. Mine was pumping oil at 30,000. Dropped in an LT1, tricked turbo, and a Ford 9-inch. That's the way they should have come. Don't trust Chevy 12-bolt hi-impact gears.....have the tensile strength of popcorn. Suppose I'll get crucified...... Put subframe connectors in this babe.

I always thought the 307 was a olds engine?

@@derekv275 I think Olds had one about that size... If I remember correctly, the Chevy 307 had a small bore and a longer stroke as compared to other Chevs. I think it was a 283 bore and 327 or 350 crank? Someone please correct me. Anyway the small bore shrouded the valves so badly that it couldn't breathe and couldn't rev. It was basically back-asswards from what a guy needs. I was young and dumb. I believe all Olds engines were punched out of the same block.....again, someone enlighten me. Thanks for the reply....hope some of these guys help us out. Tom

@@tomnekuda3818 I remember in high school I wanted to put a rpm manifold and Holley carb , energy cam in my 80 Camaro 305 . The shop teacher saved me by not letting me do that and gave me his 350 out of his 73 half ton. Years later I realized why lol

@@derekv275 Yeah....those 305's were sick puppies, too. Might have been better than the 307's, tho. Hope someone straightens me out on bore/stroke on these V8's. I'm more into Fords and Mopars and can't remember what I used to know on Chevys.

I would have used a quick ratio steering box from a Trans Am.

Rick Uyeda yeah, me too And I would've also used sway bars that were 1& 3/4 inches for additional strength (My philosophy is that I'd rather it'd be stronger than it needs to be)

@@bilbobaggins4710 I have seen gun shows on cable that from beginning to end are commercials. The stuff these guys do is at master mechanic level, but I still keep waiting for them to use a Shamwow for an oil spill or Ginsu steak knife to cut a seal.

Andrew Armstrong they'd only tightened them enough to keep them in place until it had weight back on the car

This is a perfect example of why I hated powernation. Start off by showing what I turned in for: adding a new suspension. NOT how cool the dodge charger was, NOR how to clean the underside. Fortunately, they actually completed (not as well as it could have our should have been) the suspension system. But oh my goodness, it could / should have been so much better without the 2 irrelevant segments in the middle!

Shame to put stock control arms and shocks back onto it.

That's what it had stock, that's what they put. Nothing wrong with them. Are there better options now, 50 years later? Yes. But there's nothing inherently wrong with stock stuff.

@@jordanwiley4582 While you are correct, it wil run and drive just fine with the stock platform, it just seems silly to go to all that trouble just to put old shoes back on. Almost like restoring an old worn pair of athletic shoes that never did a great job of supporting your feet, when theres a brand new pair of nikes laying in the hall

He installed the front springs upside down.

@@edgesun7031 I think he's referring to the fact that almost everything is a Year One reproduction - Year One... a $5.00 part costs you $20.00 in shipping...

We're going to stack all this money and work on top of a sleeved engine we got from a wrecking yard. Like there aren't enough of those motors lying around. I could never buy a car with a sleeved motor. Lots of cores. Where else did you beg off.

They don't fix anything. They just replace the parts with crazy expensive parts from sponsors

Good luck - haha I bought my 68 about 15 years ago and they were expensive then. I haven't seen a complete roller for under $15,000 - even those needed lots of rust repair

i really enjoy power nation i can't get it on dish network any longer. who is the announcer with the sore throat? he sounds terrible! they need to get a new announcer.

I bought a brand new 1974 Camaro. Worst decision I ever made. That thing was an absolute DOG. It got 7 MPG on road or off, wouldnt handle ...at all and it couldnt get out of it's own way...How disappointed was I!

@meangreen69Nova First the cylinder had holes poked in it and it's a two bolt main. The L78 is a four bolt main block. I thought they were making a L78 396 engine. The L78 heads were much better than those truck heads too. It's not like PowerNation can't afford the correct parts.
