Use to be pretty right wing entering college, I didn’t really think for myself and just repeated political talking points from my family and pundits that I followed online like Shapiro. Throughout college as I was I getting more and more left, I went from tyt to chapo, and one thing that really cemented my transition was their reading series more than anything else. Out of high school I didn’t really read anything from the people I thought I agreed with, then when coming across these reading series on chapo I quickly realized how stupid, backwards, and just straight up weird a lot of these right wing ideas are. I can’t believe I ever thought those guys were cool or smart. Now I know the value of actually doing the readings. I thank the Chapo boys greatly, it fundamentally changed who I am for the better.

Some what of the same story. Went from Dem (growing up) to republican (early 20s military years listened to Shapiro and those like) to independent (mid 20s listened to Dore) to full blown progressive (late late 20 listened to tyt->Sam Seders-> and that got me into Chapo).

In the Christian cult I was in from age 19-- 25, the elders decided that if women did not have orgasms, it was because they were not virgins when they married. I'm not sure how that made sense. The elders also decided that married women had to have sex with their husbands at least every 48 hours, so they would not "stumble". It was assault, I thought, using the cudgel of their god to get their wives to service them.

She has something in common with Prager. She lacked Empathy, due to her being a diagnosed Narcissist. I got sick one time, and was throwing up, and all she could do was get pissed off because she knew i wasnt able do it that night. She said she was addicted to my thing. She was dead serious. She said she needed it, and it was her medicine. I had to get a restraining order. I do miss the good parts, but not the crazy parts.
