Can Opener Trail - Ourimbah State Forest, Mitsubishi Canter 4wd Australia
We tackle the Can Opener Track located in Ourimbah State Forest in our Mitsubishi (Fuso) Canter 4x4. This is the hardest 4wd for us so far with the truck. Dinted the cab as a souvenir justifying the trails name.

This is epic expedition for a Canter. Amazing footage, driving, guiding, and of course the rig. Now I understand why most Aussie Canter builds choose the spartan sleeping/cooking/shitting all done on the outside design. Thanks for taking time and effort to produce this amazing video. Just watching how it is done I learnt so much from you.
Capable truck and a more capable driver. Love the raw footage no music not much talking. Keep them coming.

Amazing video. Love the truck. Super driving skills. Above all, fantastic filming!! Cheers from 🇱🇰 !!!
First video I have seen putting one of these rigs on a 4wd track not just puttering down a dirt path with a small puddle. Love that you are putting it to it's potential. Look forward to seeing more of you on tracks like this. Well done indeed 👍
Wow….Mitsubishi should be all over you guys with this…great performance and filming…especially no bs thrash music.
Exactly the kinda truck capability and the kinda track i wanna drive through with. You're living my dream man! Loving every second of your video mate! 👍👍👍

Love watching your 4wdriving in your Canter. Some scary moments there, but well done. My brother and I have Canter Fg637's and try and do a 4wdrive trip each year. I absolutely love it. Keep up the video's. Enjoying them.

Great video. So happy to see this kind of content.
HOLY CRAP!! 24:07 WOW! Nice spotting. I see the benefit of a four dour. You can take more videographers along! Great job.

Great Video. Good use of the winch at the end. Thanks for sharing.
very impressive mobility and more stable than I thought it would be. Also just enough power.
Nice driving and great recovery skills, mad truck too!
Crackin vid!!!! How capable is that truck!!! Cheers for the lack of music as it distracts from the real sounds of 4wbie life, the bashes n crashes of driving through obstacles and the pucker moment at 24:02. That model Canter is super reliable as long the maintenance is kept up, I drove one (2WD version) for 7 years as a courier, my only warning is watch out for the spring release under dash handbrake as I had it release while moving around in the back of the truck. Negative aside, I stumbled across this channel by accident and I'm glad I did, as it is pure enthusiast style video, thanks for not editing out when things go wrong. Cheers
Indeed very impressive! Good job mate 👍 👏
Wow! Respect man. Wheeling that thing up those tracks takes some skill.

Great track, great truck, Good luck!
Next level , nice work
U have done an amazing job o the Canter.
whata amazing journey with unbeatable truck
Great trip, Good 4WDing, the winching went well. They can lift a wheel or two though and kiss a rock on the way. Using a Canter well. Dan.
I am impressed with the fun dirt course ♪
Very impressive stuff boys, Got a hint for ya, don't hold ya right hand up and point left, , simply put left is left and right is right. Good 4x4 truckin
That thing flexes more than a cruiser , nice truck
Some driving, Superb !!
love your video, greetings from Indonesia
My friend has been building a Mitsubishi Fuzu. It like that but a tad shorter and single cab but dually rear axle. He built a fiberglass box to live in that can be removed. It's a sweet rig. Very capable off road. His has the 4 cylinder Turbo Diesel. I've never seen another one yet. Cool rigs.
さすが!! キャンター!! 素晴らしい走破性&カスタム👍👍👍

Mate what a video, that was great. Awesome truck and crew! What a roller coaster ride!! I subbed early on, un-subbed when the Makita came out, and re-subbed when the Stihl was fired up! (joking..) I see from an earlier comment you're doing a video on the rig super keen on that make sure you go over all the suspension! Edited to add; thanks for not adding music to the video.

Clever use of sideways winching there sir.
Gladiators are such a great tyre for the price!
Best video I've seen so far, with thies kind of trucks ,i have the same truck but run hydraulic winches, small hiab crain on the ass and a few other goodies, thies are very very capable trucks ,i live in FNQ ( far north Queensland) and have recovered many of my mates up the crib track in the wet, and crazy other places up here . Keep up the good work guys.👍
Good fun👍🇳🇿
...hmnn placement of the right side mirror seems quite weird and no round mirror on it? Single rear tire but still good! ...enjoyed it anyways, thank u foo sharing...

@4wtruckingaus654
3 жыл бұрын
Basically 3 inch exhaust 4 inch intake with a high flow filter, and bigger intercooler is what I've done to mine, next step would be more fuel and boost. But after those mods I'm happy power wise at the moment. So will probably stay as is. Stainbauer does a chip for about 2k that's an other option.
great driving skills, has the engine and turbo had any enhansment? has the suspension had any changes, what size tyres and wheels have you gone for,
@4wtruckingaus654
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, if you're asking for the canter it has the factory 3.9 and the factory turbo but it has bigger exhaust, intake and intercooler. Leafs are SSA 4 inch lift, and wheels are 17inch AAV rims running 40x13.5inch mt tyres, there's full list of mods in the video description 👍🏻
A really great drive that shows you can get a properly-prepared Canter up technically demanding and difficult tracks, despite what the 'knockers' say.

Pro's of a canter or unimog = massive truck wheels and truck clearance. Con's of a canter or unimog = massive truck wheels are no small task if you get a flat.

Just bought a 2004 here in Tassie in July. It’s a tipper with a 3.5m tray, with a pair of large toolboxes behind the cab. I use it for carrying my mini-excavator and other farm jobs. I just got a half built slide on camper I’m finishing off. I’m really looking forward to getting out on a few trails. Just wondering about your winch and bullbar setup. I have a full steel bumper bar ( has ‘decorative’ plastic corners) , and am thinking of just welding on a trio of arches to increase the protection for the lights. Can the single rear tires carry the same as my duallys?
@4wtruckingaus654
2 жыл бұрын
@@andrewallason4530 Hi Andrew, good on you, sounds like a good protect. The rear singles are by AAV in Queensland and they can carry the same as the Dual ones, same payload. I built the bar myself as light as possible and to give me a good approaching angle. I haven't had any dramas with the lights so it doesn't worry me having them exposed

You guys should buy those tank track things that you can drive on and clamp down when you get to a spot like these. It would add at least five inches of ground clearance and tracks at each corner. I am assuming you have lockers front and rear so this would be the perfect candidate for them.

Front axle has good articulation. Rear axle, not so good. I would be removing leafs from the spring pack to improve flex. Truck is not carrying it's GVM, so the heavy spring pack is not required. Lose some weight from those and increase flex. Win win.
