Well, that one's no crawler. Looked like it lacked the power to push it over that little hill. I'm doubting there is a transmission or transfer case that bolts right on, doubt there's gears you can swap into it either. So if you can't have lower gears, then work on the power.

Never said it doesn't have a t case. I said I doubt you can swap one in for better gears.

I agree with all here. Yes it needs 50 extra hp and more torque and ideally reduction gears. It's a petrol engine and while 135 hp and 200 Nm don't sound too bad it's hard to get up here as slow as possible. You could drive it with more revs but that would see it bouncing and sliding straight into the Can Opener. I think I had mud on my clutch plates as well, which got me worried as I didn't want to burn out the clutch right there. That's why I opted for the winch. The clutch survived another year or two till I swapped it for a ceramic one. Now it also got reduction gears and it certainly makes life a lot easier.

I knocked it up myself. Bought the first old bar available near me and used the grinder and welder to make it fit.

No low range?

Garry Kennedy -Low range works great but reduction gears, supercharger or diesel engine would have been useful here.

It is dual range but this guy apparently forgot to go low..

Gasoline engine...))) NO, never)))) So happy havin' a turtle inside my TownAce - 3ct))) Slow but strong at low rpm.

It has low range and is not top heavy as the only thing above the dash is the tin roof, I should know I have owned one. Same running gear as a Pajero

Big Boy why it he continually choking the motor down, trying to manuver up those trails? He killed it several times, it should have enough in low range to crawl along at idle

I cannot speak for the driver but is has low range and i bet if you were there it is far worse than it looks, it is only a 4 cylinder petrol engine and does en exceptional job if you watch the other videos.

Big Boy Ive watched a couple, not sure if by same guys, but lack of power always seemed to be a problem, along with very rigid suspension, which makes it look like it wants to turn over often, I would be so worried about turning over, I couldnt enjoy a drive in one of those

I had one for seven years and would buy another one, have you seen it tip over as I can only reassure you it is not top heavy and I have driven many 4 x 4's.

This wagon is not able to climb. 🙏 leave her.
