I carry one, couldn't reach it with out getting mud up to my knees, but you're right should keep it in a more handy spot next time

Strange how the woman filming at the front of the Fuso didn't even yell out for it to stop, when the front grill fell out. 🤔 If she did, running over it (grill) could have been avoided. 🫣

I was thinking the same thing, nearly EVERY chance to turn back (go a different way) i probably would have... For 😢 truck's sake This was comparable to a horror film (good nor bad) Seriously, i was having a moment Great Fun overall Think the truck needs TLC after that...

Never yet seen any capable 4wd climb a vertical edge, even with traction.....now I have seen a guy try it in a bloody truck....I have more respect for machinery..........

Yeap! He did a lot right all the same.. I guess if it was a rental? I didn't see but would chains have helped, that's the truck not the track. I was going to say chunkier rubber, but oh! the expense. But never mind, he had a fun day.

Does the Canter in Australia also have that sign on the door that says you shouldnt really take this truck off-road? (This applies to an unmodified vehicle of course.) I'm wondering wether australian and european versions differ in robustness...?

I’m almost finished stage one of my build of my 2004 Canner 4x4 (I don’t like to call him a ‘canter’, because he can😜). His name is Burnie ( he was initially owned by the Burnie council here in Tassie), and has a full tipper body (alas extra weight off road, but I need it for his other duties). I’m almost complete finishing off a ‘slide-on’ camper ( it’s a bit more involved than your average slide-on, obviously), but have taken the rig through Jeffery’s Track, an awesome track quite similar to the one you were on here, just on the outskirts of Hobart.

What yr is your truck?

Why didn't you use a tree protection strap when trying to winch of that tree . Not very professional.

Who cares about a shitty old tree. And to kill a tree you have to ring bark it all of the way around

reminds me of when I used to drive one contract spraying, drive through a lot of stuff but when you get stuck it takes a lot to get un stuck

Love the videos, wish there where more Ozzy 4x4 truck channels (where they use their rigs like this not just touring)

I just want to know, how much weight did it carry? Why the rear axle so easily snapped.

Love your content I think your rear differential breather, at 2 minutes 40 looks as if it’s disconnected a loose tube is hanging there.

No worries, you’re still learning what it does :o) On the bigger machines you winch before you get stuck. Like that road train guy said, “might as well do it the long way, it’ll take less time” :D *if it is bogged, snatch block it, for the slower speed against mud suction.

Nice 1 mate, I pissed myself when you brought out that tiny fold up shovel...lol, I have a question, I've just bought a 4.9 duel cab, it needs the singles on it, what advice do you have for getting them?, get them made or how many places actually make them? also a suspension upgrade for a bit better articulation and ride, I'd be after 37", yours look bigger than that but 37's are fine for me, any way any info you might have would be great...

Cheers mate, yeah time to upgrade the shovel I reckon 😅. Definitely order them through AAV (australian adventure vehicles) or ATW (all terrain warriors) getting them made would cost you a fortune. Mine are from AAV, they can sort you out with tyres too. Both aav and atw do suspension upgrades but a bit pricy. My springs are SSA will give you a lift but not a more comfortable ride. The 4.9 it's a weapon, hope you enjoy it mate good luck in your build 👍🏻👍🏻

On 40s doesn't like towing unless it is a a small campertrailer or something, on 37s or 35s no problem but slow uphills

Do you use lockers for rear and front axle ? if Yes, what brand do you use ? im interested also in canter overlanding modification.

Being a Yankee farmer I couldn't do that to a truck!! Broken equipment too much time and money spent to repair it. I would take the "high road"... lol

Found the mechanical limits I see. Surprised it was the rear as the front is so much smaller. Probably just a matter of time on the front I guess. Sherpa is done for? Time for a real shovel!

Front cvs are weaker but because of the angle most of the weight goes to rear axle that plus the bouncing perfect combo. About the Sherpa, this is the last trip with it, I'm fitting a runva next, I've only had problems with Sherpa, in this case however I'm pretty sure it's only a bad earth, I still need to look into it. And 100% right about the shovel I'm embarrassed 😅

I would like to know how you are getting on with a 2WD canter, I had the thought of overlanding in 2WD, albeit considerably gentler but wonder if the front rear balance my be too much front?

What do you expect when you keep punishing it up the hill broken axle on the cards.

I don't understand what yiu were trying to achieve with the logs. You would probably got through without them thrown in after yoiu dug away for the approach angle. The logs MAY have helped if yoiu'd laid them at an angle like a ramp or if it had been mud so they layed on top for traction but not in deep water where they float and get jammed under the front.. Why'd you throw them in randomly?? Don't get it.

Pretty much all winch remotes are dodgy. always use the cable.

You can't apply torque to LSD with broken axle and removing drive shaft won't stop diff turning without removing axle
