I will eventually review that blade, but I am not a fan of Tanto Knives or large hand guards.

I totally agree, it blew me away.

I will see what I can do, we have about half the years items already planned, but I will see I can put that in for the second half.

Man, I got the Buck Reaper with the beautiful reddish colored wood grips for $40.00 at Walmart...I've had it for about two weeks now. I took out on a weekend excursion and beat the hell out of it, really punished it and tested it. It took everything I dished out, even did better than I expected with batoning some firewood...it took a beating and begged for more. I have some pretty expensive knives, and I gotta say...I wish that I had found THIS knife sooner. It is now my number one go to knife and my favorite. It is now my main carry knife...I absolutely LOVE this knife.

I've had mine for two years it's a hell of a blade chops ,cuts well balanced makes a good fighter to you can't beat it

have to say just picked 2 of them up had to go back and get the 2nd one the next day buck got this one right, not to much I would change either, than a spot on the spine for a fero rod.

Man this is a fucking modernized ancient karakulak balkan knife. Search in google karakulak knife. 1. The whole shape of the knife, 2. the recurved blade, 3. the widening of the handle at it's end (when looked from above). Someone has been copying :D. I like it very much. Will probably buy it. awesome review! just got 1 at Wal-Mart for 40 bucks. mine has a wood grain handle. one other thing is this knifes 90% spike is great for a Ferro rod strike. great low cost bushcraft knife! 👍

Hi gideonstactical loved the review, watched it about five times over the last couple months whilst i'm being indecisive on the next purchase. What would you choose for a general lightweight camping/survivalist knife, a cold steel srk, the buck reaper, or the cold steel leatherneck (4116 krupp version as the sk5 isn't available). i saw one of these but the handle is rosewood at academy for $30 because they lost the sheath for it, i go online to search for it but there is none that is in rosewood. Is it a good buy?

I bought the one Wal-Mart has for 40 bucks I believe it's 440HC steel. I haven't used it yet but my only complaint is that it doesn't seem very sharp. It will shave wood and stuff but it's nowhere near razor sharp...

And I'm still new to knives and especially sharpening so I'm kinda scared to sharpening it lol.

I get it this video is old. I’m not sure why you are talking this knife up so much. I just recently taken mine out of my collection so I wanted to watch some reviews. The knife is so light not really good for a lot. Light camping stuff. That’s about it.

that knife is not for swinging. it is not for chopping. batoning at most. if you wanna chop, go buy a machete or a parang.

you dont seem to really grasp how rockwell hardness works, its just a single test that shows hardness, it does not test toughness or wear resistance, or edge stability, comparing even bucks great heat treated 420hc to 1095 is just silly as fudge.

Gerber's Prodigy, Strongarm and LMF2 have excellent 420hc steel .....I sense a bit of Gerber bias on this old video. Their 420 is on par with buck if not better in some cases.

Not sure I'd trust my "survival" to a 40 dollar buck available at wal-mart. Maybe suburban weekend survival like cutting open amazon packages or something.

Don't trust the fact that it's from Wal-Mart.... Watch the video and see what it does, then trust that.
