I have been eying that for a while as well and have held one in my hand, very thick heavy knife. I would say from holding it in the store it is a rescue/firefighter tool. I am keeping my eyes open for a cheap one so I can get a review out there to you all. Thanks for your support Trevor!

Glad I could help, I would also check out the Tops Knives DART, chops even better! I will be releasing a review in the next few week on the DART.

Micarta actually gets better traction when it's wet than when its dry. Rubber, while still staying somewhat grippy, is more slippery when wet than dry. Micarta doesn't melt. Micarta has a much longer life span than rubber does. The difference in shock absorption is so miniscule, it's not noticeable in our hands. As much as you might not like it, Micarta offers a lot of advantages over rubber

Dude, it looks identical to my all time favorite, the Buck Reaper, which I own four of them. They are so awesome that I had to go back and buy three more just to stash back in my gear box. I also love the Gerber Prodigy, same thing...I went back and bought another one, so I have two of those. How does the Buck Thug compare to the Reaper? The Thug just looks like it's a little more high quality than the Reaper.

I got the reaper for christmas 3 years ago from my girlfriend. It's been my hiking knife ever since and I love how lightweight yet tough it is & it looks sleek & intimidating as a self defense tool

The guy who was with Buck died and his wife is now taking over the production of his latest knives designed by him with Buck.

How good is the sheath that comes with this knife? I know alot of high end knives can come with some really crappy sheaths.

I believe the tops D.A.R.T is the same knife, the only differences I can see is the coasting

you should do a comparison with this to a TOPS D.A.R.T. Very similar design, 7 inch recurve blade, 6.5 inch cutting surface, kinda kukri looking, micarta scales, 5160 carbon spring steel...would love to see a comparison

Kraton is nice, but Micarta is here to stay. I will alway take micarta over kraton, it is more durable and becomes more textured when wet.

I just got a Buck Thug today for Father's Day. I've watched this video multiple times. I had to watch it again today because my thug has a full flat grind versus the hollow grind on the one you have which is just like my reaper. Have you heard of them changing the grind or do I have a luck of the draw? Maybe because of you and your vids like the thug vs the tops dart they have changed it.

Looks like a great knife. The Hoodlum, punk, and thug are all top notch blades. I can't wait for the Buck scum bag, the Buck c*cks*cker, and the Buck Sh*t for Brains.

Can't wait till the micrapa handles go out of fashion in the knife world. Give me good old rubber any day. Better grip in cold or wet , more shock absorbing ,cheaper to make. I just can't see any advantage to the stuff. Someone fill me in maybe??
