One of the coolest things in that bridge fight was when Okoya was disarmed, Attuma stopped fighting and handed her weapon back. I thought that was pretty awesome, not only honor, but respecting your opponent.

Coogler has gotten BETTER & BETTER at filming action/fight sequences. This film has some of the best fight sequences I've seen from the MCU ( right up there with Civil War and Winter Soldier ). It's just cool to see Coogler continue to grow as a great filmmaker/storyteller.

I love Coogler choosing story over action (again) because he’s building out a world again. Padding it with too much action would’ve felt rushed, mainly because Shuri wasnt really the warrior type in the first one. Kudos to them for her arc and everyone else’s.

Fantastic, fantastic film. Emotional, had heart, had story. Angela Bassett was incredible, as was Namor. Brilliant film. 👏🏻
I loved this movie, it stands by itself as it's homage to Chadwick. Loved the story, I wouldn't care if it had no action, I loved the 12 stages of grief and the letting go at the end. And that post credit scene... incredible. The continuation of life
This movie was awesome on so many levels and a beautiful love letter to Chadwick Boseman. Angela Bassett was absolutely incredible! That throneroom scene between her and Okeye turned me into Sniffles McGee 😭😭😭 Namor was an incredible addition to the MCU. He seemed to be more of an anti-hero type rather than an actual villain. His Second in Command Namora was all serious business and came to play ZERO games. She wanted all the smoke. I'm giving this movie a 4.5 out of 5.
Amazing sequel! One of the best sequels of any MCU movie and Okoye CAME TO LIFE in this movie, shed a literal tears. Never thought I’d see the General Okoye cry. I wept for babygirl. Also the character arc and development of Shuri was top tier for the MCU.
@bessythompson1472

her getting demoted felt like a punch in the gut
Namor and Black Adam has the same mentality "Only care about his people" and everyone can catch these hands. Love Namor fights.
hmm. Shuri was our emotional compass, we followed her journey closer than any hero I feel. Queen Ramonda was the emotional bridge that broke our hearts, with her we ached and yearned and raged. Shuri brought us back and forgave. Seeing the two of them in different places, one not understanding her emotions and the other knowing and embracing them, is the sauce for me.
M'Baku as the voice of reason. Haiti being showed tremendous love. Angela Bassett giving an Oscar worthy performance. This movie was amazing
What makes the Black Panther movies good is that they not only tell wonderful stories but they keep out all of the cheesy one-liners and unnecessary comedy, kept the children to a minimum(you know how most movies these days just got too many damn kids in them), and MOST IMPORTANTLY, LOVE. This move promotes love and brotherly/sisterly/human relationships like no other movie. Coogler will never fail with this combination. Just pure masterpieces he’s kicked out back to back.

I'll be checking this movie out again as well! I gained a lot of respect for Shuri. She up there on my favs list after this one. She had to grow up fast, and the movie didn't hesitate to acknowledge how unfair and truly traumatizing that can be. She was raw, stern, frustrated, emboldened, and a ruler, all in her own way! And at first, I wasn't banging with the BP costume, but taking a step back at the elements on it, what they symbolize, and her selection process. I can only appreciate how much she ATE that. This movie man! If I ain't go see it with a new friend, but with some old homies or solo, the tears I would have cried! Re-watch in theaters and day 1 on D+
The movie was 🔥🔥🔥🔥I love it. No matter which way the movie went, people would still find fault with it. You can’t please everyone.
I’ll be honest I think the action in this is better thank BP 1 . Story was better on 1 but emotion was better in 2. Very satisfied with both movies.
Daniel wasn't there as a necessary character because in the first movie he was arrested for treason, so he in prison somewhere. When the Queen stripped Okoye's title she (in so many words) said Okoye could join him lol.
I've seen it twice this weekend. I'm going to see 2 more times. Angela Bassett knows she's fine. Ruth Carter did a phenomenal job again with the costumes. I wouldn't have wanted any other characters there for the funeral. It wouldve took from the scene especially them not being apart of the culture. They wouldve just stood there as the Wakandians danced as T'challa's body came through the city.

My thoughts exactly. It was a cultural experience that non-Wakandans didn’t really need to be privy to. Also I can’t really see Rhodey and Sam busting out dancing in the village either.
Tony!!! T’Challa Jr’s Haitian name might be just as important as his Wakandan name. Toussaint was a he Haitian general that helped gain their independence.
I thought the movie was brilliantly done. I like that T’Challa was not recast. The mid credit scene, I believe, sets up longevity for the franchise. I was hurt about the Queen though lol
I’m glad I waited to watch this review until after I seen the movie. I love your take on the movie. I love how you come from a place where you see the movie for what it is, which is an amazing movie with a amazing actors and an amazing story line. I’m glad you didn’t get in your feelings and pull it a part like most reviews I’ve seen. Ryan Coogler did his thing. He is a genius.
Okoye is easily my favorite character. Any funny sidekick / "employee that is almost too familiar" character has to be likeable for the movie to work. Happy in Ironman, Darcy in Thor, Okoye, Valkerie, Ned...
I ve been in love with Angela Bassett's arms since 1991 🤣🤣
As a Black non American, I appreciated the various historical shout outs of Black history outside the US. The wink to Toussaint L’ouverture was phenomenal and the African jokes about the Western as colonizers ( which of us our favorite: France, UK, or USA) was lit. Hopefully, it forces Americans to learn more about history. For sure this script was written for the world, not just the YS, so it’ll speak to many audiences in the world

Daniel K wasn’t in this one bc he was already filming “Nope”, but he was not needed anyway. It was a great film.
I thought the movie was great. M'Baku was my favorite charaector. Queen Ramonda was amazing. I got chills listening to Angela Bassett. I hope get nominated for an Oscar or something.
It was so good, I loved the introduction of another culture. If we come together in unity we our stronger together than apart as black, Latin or whatever. Together we can be unstoppable. That’s what I got.
Not only was Wakanda Forever amazing in terms of acting, story, and cinematography, but the soundtrack/score for this film is out of this world! post credit had me crying when he said his wakandian name
Why not a 5 out of 5 Tony?! I can’t put Spider Man before this. The fight scenes was WAY better than the first one. Daniel Kailua character was in jail, Queen Mother brought it up while going off on Okoye for losing her daughter. Across the board, it hit everything. Awesome video like usual, keep being great sir.
This is first among the phase 4 Marvel movies, Dr. Strange is 2nd, and Spiderman/Captain Marvel are fighting for 3rd for me. I just went to the theater for the 2nd time today and thankfully I didn't cry today because I dropped a few thug tears the first time on Sunday. I loved the mid-credit scene...PERFECT! Ryan Cogler is surely about the story and I love how it was re-interpreted. My favorite character of the series is Okoye as well but QUEEN RAMONDA (Angela Bassett) IS AMAZING & AB deserves at least an Oscar nomination for this movie!!! Angela Bassett looks incredibly regal and was giving everything in this performance! She and Viola Davis DO NOT MISS! PERIOD!!! PS: RUTH CARTER (Costume Designer) is THE GOAT of her industry! She does not miss either! Everyone looked amazing! Even though y'all didn't wear all white for opening weekend I'll forgive y'all, lol.
I'm definitely going to see this movie again. I honestly rank it as my #1 favorite out the phase 4 movies. Loved everything about the movie, the emotional moments, the action, the new characters, Namor, everything!! I thought it was really interesting how they paralleled Shuri's and Namor's struggles. Definitely in my top 5 favorite marvel movies. M'Baku was my favorite in this movie, he was both the comedic relief and the voice of reason.
I loved this movie. I have #1 from Phase 4 and #3 in the MCU as a whole. My favorite character is definitely M'Baku even though he didn't have much to do. I would've loved to see him as the new Black Panther, but the story Coogler told was incredible.
Honestly, I’d say this was top tier MCU along with the first Iron-Man. Full of heart, character driven, no excessive action or forced comedy. Easy 10/10. M’Baku still the 🐐
In all my years reading comics, I never imagined or mentally visualized how Namor would move IRL. That shit was crazy.
I've been HYPPPPED to hear Tony's review 🍞 and he BLESSED US wit' 21 minutes!!! 🙅🏾♀️🙌🏾
Okoye is also my favorite character. I cried in the beginning and at the end. It was a sad movie, but I loved it.
M’Baku whooped Tony for challenging for the throne of Wakanda
I absolutely loved it, it so different. I got it number 1 in phase 4, favorite character was Okoye as well. I've seen it twice already. My wife cried 4 different times. I was emotional in several parts myself
Drinking the vibranium elixir gave Na'mor's people super human strength in addition to ability to exist under water without their bodies bursting from the pressure. 😁 I really enjoyed this movie. Thanks for your review.
I'm just happy they put riri on da bigscreen n not just kept in comics 💯💯💯💯 hope we see more of her.
To come up with a creative way of writing this movie is superb. Story over action any day. This was amazing. Cannot compare this with the 1st movie. Wouldn't be fair. Both movies are equally amazing and the tale of the tape will prove how powerful movie 1 and 2 are.
“Shutting down the studio” is the funniest shit ever 😂
I saw the movie twice opening weekend and thought it was amazing. As far as phase 4, Wakanda Forever is my #1, with Shang-Chi and Spider-Man coming in after.
Attuma MY FAVORITE CHARACTER... His first scene he showed up taking bodies...I was like OHHH 👏🏾
to my SURPRISE, Shuri ended up being my favorite character?? I thought she was boring in every other movie but gah DAMN she did her thing in this one
Mbaku calling Okoye a "bald headed demon" took me out...
This was a well done movie considering the circumstances. I seen it twice opening weekend. The cast, story and tribute to Chadwick..overall..i really enjoyed myself😌
Loved this movie. Agree with 4/5. My favorite character is Nakia :) because of her skills as a stealth operative. This is my favorite movie in Phase 4. But also enjoyed No Way Home, Dr. Strange, and Shang-Chi. Thanks for the review Tony!!
I Loved Black Panther II...I Thought The Cast Did An Awesome Job. Favorite Character: M'Baku...that back and forth with Okoye had me chuckling.
I loved it so much. One of the few times I've left a theatre feeling fulfilled
A little Easter egg for everyone.. The van that was transporting Ross... The license plate of that van has CB112976... CB IS THE INITIALS OF CHADWICK BOSEMAN 112976 IS HIS BIRTHDAY.
I love that bridge fight. Reminded me of Shredder vs Ninja Turtles on the rooftop in TMNT 1990 except Attuma was Shredder. Makes me think of James Avery too.
Story line was definitely amazing! I found it very funny and I could relate with the characters. Their jokes and reactions were very African so was really cool to see that again. Very hard to compare it to the first one because we’ve lost Chadwick. So feels like a start over or Part 2 of Black Panther. One thing that they could work on is their isiZulu and Xhosa. They were too many mistakes with pronunciation, using the wrong words and the accent. Was very hard to listen too, they should get people to teach them especially because we can see which cultures inspired certain tribes in Wakanda. Overall I enjoyed the 3 hours
M’Baku and Okoye are my favorites “You bald headed demon”
She had strong arms since that Tina Turner movie....she been a beast!!💪🏾🏋🏾♀️
THANK YOU Angela Basett had me screaming when she walked into that room👏🏾👏🏾 💪🏾
Namor was my favorite… because he been around a long time and seen what happens to the surface world. And nothing changes. I thought it was good.
Shuri had the biggest growth arc. She was my favorite. I give the movie 9/10.

Grief & how to cope with it was the underlying theme throughout all of Phase 4
Riri Williams is Ironheart
Really wish I was as pleased with it as Tony. Sadly though, even as enthusiastic as his recitation of the plot points was, it only served to reinforce the unfortunate weaknesses of the storytelling. Deeply hoped this movie would have blown away my expectations.
I watched the movie twice. I completely love this story. And I adore both of these cultures and the amazing similarities we share. But Kukulkan is an awesome character. I actually agree with what he says and thinks and would challenge anyone to find another nation that doesn't feel the same way. As ALWAYS the Dora Milaje General is my favourite also. Okoye is a force, and she is the embodiment of love and strength and patriotism. ❤️💪🏾
Man this film was amazing.... Its not your regular action/adventure marvel film. At times it was a thriller, drama, horror, & comedy. Yet stayed comic book accurate while giving an amazing tribute to the Late Great Chadwick Boseman 10/10
I enjoyed this movie a lot. I was worried about this, but they pulled it off IMO. Angela deserves an Oscar nom and I thought Namor was pretty dope. I have my few gripes but overall I'm happy with it.
I hate they killed the Queen. Her death cast a black cloud over the rest of the movie. I couldn't get past it and even in the end of the movie, though Shuri won, it didn't feel like Wakanda won. Losing 2 Kings and the Queen in a very short time, the end of the movie still felt like Wakanda was taking a L.
Daniel Kaluuya was shooting Nope at the same time. Coogler had him in it. And they're looking to bring him back for 3.
Boi I saw the movie yesterday day and it was an emotional roller coaster 😆. I love how they kept the tchallah character alive in his son. I was impressed how they made namour a real threat. I thought he was always wack in the comics.
Movie was great. Would've loved to see T'challa take on Namor, but it worked out well. Queen Ramonda is my favourite, but Okoye's definitely a close second. For me, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange and this are on an even keel. The MCU gave us a great villain in the vein of Loki; Lord knows Namor's loyalties are gonna flip all the damn time, and I'm here for all of it
Hey Tony! Man I just got your scaredy cat stand up special and absolutely love it. Your style of storytelling is personally compelling to me. ON TOP OF THAT.. I just discovered your channel and movie reviews. As a humongous cinephile, I am delighted. Keep up the work brother! I'm here for it (why haven't I seen you in more movies? Acting is on point)
Completely agree with the ranking, 2nd only due to Spiderman's 20 yr nostalgia. This had great character development for a female hero, great motivation for everyone, and it didn't rush important scenes. Ryan Coogler has done it again!!!!
My only issue with both Black Panther films is I don’t really see Killmonger or Namor as a villain. They have legitimate reasons for doing what they do and I can’t hate on it. Next BP film needs an actual villain to route against. I found myself routing more for Namor then Shauri.

I was a gotdamn puddle of tears the whole movie just going through Kleenex. It's my favorite movie in Phase 4 followed by Spiderman: No Way Home and Thor: Love and Thunder. Everybody did a phenomenal job, hard to choose my favorite character in this movie b/w Queen Mother, General, M'Baku, and Namor. The tribute to Chadwick was AMAZING. Ryan Coogler knows how to make a damn good movie so Kevin gotta keep him around. Also the display of cultures 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I'm excited to see more of everyone in the future and how Shuri will evolve as Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda.
Favorite character is Namor, by far. For a lot of the reasons you named, his depth as a character, his abilities, and his ideology. I'm glad they didn't make him OP, but he's still a problem

Hello the Tony Baker Team! My name is Adan Hutchinson. I love everything that you guys are doing! Something else to touch on with this movie. Two culture's that are on a threat of being "colonized" fought because of a "Certain Colony" (not to name name's) trying to take resources, but blaming one. Which ended in the battle that brought Wakanda and Talokan together. Think about the symbolism with African Americans and our Hispanic/Mexican Heritage today! We are more receptive of the Hispanic/Mexican culture because of relativity! Take that and do as you will. Just give ya boy a shout-out if you read this. Thank you for your time.
This movie was awesome. In every movie we can find things that we personally would like to change in my opinion. People are entitled to their own opinions but when anger and hate are evolved then that is a personal problem(heart issue) that You have to deal with. My wife isn't a huge superhero fan(I am) , matter of fact she was hesitant of the whole Namor character because she really hated the aqua man movie lol. Loved this move a lot but she said she didn't think Shuri fit the Black Panther role but still loves her outside of that. Let's embrace movies with poc more instead of tearing them down. ✌🏿
Even with the herb namor was still beating that ass 😂
The final battle in 2 was far better than in the first movie, and and all of Namor's action scenes were very well done.
