I saw the film as the two warring tribes representing how Black folks and people of color fight against themselves when the real enemy is yte supremacy/capitalism. The costumes were stunning. Lupita was underused and they should not have killed the queen. Love you guys ♥️♥️

I actually think introducing T’Challa having a son also named T’Challa is how they addressed the re-casting without really re-casting. Which I think could be great because one of my biggest gripes with the first movie was that T’Challa as the black panther didn’t feel like a well thought out adaptation of the character from the comics. This offers the chance to have stories about prince T’Challa son of King T’Challa Also I like how this is movie interpreted the motif of hope and rebirth that the MCU movies in phase 4 have been doing

Joseph & Nick, PLEASE cover Fruitvale Station! It's one I've heard is an excellent movie but I still can't bring myself to watch it due to the subject. Maybe if you guys "spoil" it, I'll be able to watch it, knowing more what to expect. (I do know it's based on real events which is one of the reasons it would be even more troubling to me.) Love you guys, and your cat, whether you take my requeat or not! 😸💞

Angela Bassett is gorgeous. I ❤️ her. The movie went in a really surprising direction. When Killmonger showed up in her vision quest it really surprised me. The villain was really cool and really surprised me. I think it could have been a little bit shorter but I really enjoyed it. The tributes to Chadwick were wonderful.

I watched the movie last night and really liked it. The inclusion of the Talokan and changing Namor's origin from that of the comics was a smart move. Personally, I never saw the Talokans as villains. Just people that wanted to be left alone at any cost. They already had to run before and refused to run again. Leticia Wright was the weakest part for me. I was really hoping that Michaela Coel or Danai Gurira would've been the new Black Panther, but I guess that wouldn't have made sense. As for T'Challa having a son, I think it has less to do with a male heir and more to do with the possibility of a union between Storm and T'Challa. That storyline could bring about more mutant characters and subgroups from the comics.

Love the channel guys...the dynamic works so well. Has nobody not noticed how jacked and beautiful Ms. Basset is. Those shoulders are to die for. She has to be a Vampyre or an Eternal or something..cause she seems ageless. Add to the fact that she holds the narrative together with her performance. I really enjoyed the entire movie..regardless of what the nay sayers have to say. No Marvel movie will ever live up to any of the fan bases expectation. Consequently...I just pay my money and sit back and enjoy this fantasy world. After all, this is not real life..as most of geekdom seems to believe. Anyway...thanks for your reviews....and keep up the good work.

Another great review. The review was better than the movie. Admittedly I had high expection as a huge Panther fan, almost since the characters inception back in the 60's. Back when little black kids didn't have any super heroes that looked like us. So there's that. Though I love and miss Chad Boseman, I strongly pushed for a recast of the Panther and this film reflected how the loss of Boseman and The Panther handicapped the film. So instead one loss we have two. I thought that Angela Bassett and Namor were the best things about the film. They made it worth seeing. Good job guys! Great review thank you!

In a movie that was so female centric I don't really see a problem with a son being introduced to 1. Show t challa's legacy continues and 2. To have a placeholder for a potential new panther in the future. I never took out as him being the panther in the future if only because the marvel movies don't do huge timeskips normally so shuri will be the panther next movie as long as she stays popular. But passing on the mantle is an inevitable thing in comics.

I don't understand why it's a bad thing to stick with the continuity of the comics. If there's no male heir (T'Challa) then there's no female queen (Storm... From the X-men) their wedding was kind of a big deal in the comics. I don't like the idea of a T'Challa Jr, but it has nothing to do with not being able to have a female queen but more so about telling the story of the T'Challa, the Black Panther which is why we were here in the first place, for his story.

People forget that the actual comic canon has T'Challa coming into adulthood without his father present, and his uncle, S'Yan, standing instead until he was ready to take his place. Toussaint/T'Challa of T'Challa can now follow a similar path in the MCU (travelling the world, drawing his education from the best the rest of rhe world has to offer and what he can pick up from his mother Nakia, and hopefully some time in Wakanda), while his aunt Shuri stands as Black Panther until he is ready (even though now there'd be a likely clear tension point with King M'Baku)
