@@15koolaid You really need to ask yourself what "white" is to underwater fish people... 😂 What they did is give the character a much more interesting culture and backstory beyond just skin tone. Which was light brown most of the time in the comics anyway so it actually makes sense for someone who has black hair and brown skin to be Latin American. Also, creating a copy of the Aquaman movie would have been a mistake. Especially when the sequel to Aquaman is coming out a year from now. Instead they created a character that is interesting and unique that fits within what they've established in the MCU.

Tenoch has talked about of how his agent in México tried to get him roles in different types of movies portraying different kind of characters but in Mexican society there´s a lot of racism and classism so he was always type casted as stereotypes whitexicans have about brown and poor people. Any Mexican movie you watch the whole cast is white (I'm talking mainstream commercial stuff), like they are ashamed of showing brown people to the world or something. And now this dude is making marvel money and also playing a character that is all about those roots a lot of people try to forget, roots that are living in today's world in many ways just as they did centuries ago and they´re so mistreated by the government and society in general and foreign companies mainly from the US and Spain that steal from them all the time. Idk I 'm just typing shit all I wanted to say is watching this dude flying so high with his silly foot wings makes me really happy.

I know what you mean. I had a good cry recently that was loud, where I just couldn't stop bawling. But, if I may say, there's a good trick where you can have your cake and eat it too. You can use your air to get out a good cry. Meaning that you can use a long inhale to hold it in, and a long exhale to release it. I know that sounds silly, but it kind of works. Granted there will be short yelps or noises with your exhales, but the way to cry hard while still in public it's all about the expulsion of your air, in my opinion. Pretty goofy I know but I thought I would comment. ❤️ If I sound weird / crazy or don't make any sense or if I helped you out with this weird bit of advice please let me know. :-)

I really loved this movie. N'amor is a true anti-hero and is depicted in a true sense of the word. He is also someone who uses his power to attack any perceived threat. It's easy to agree with it, and yet that makes him even more dangerous. Fantastic. The only problem I had was with the fight scenes in the ocean & with Riri's "Shiny Suit"; both worked more in a metaphoric sense than they did when put into visual art. That felt a lot like Marvel Studios overreaching to sell toys.
SPOILERS: I just got back from the theater and I LOVED IT!!! I was very happy that my entire theater stayed silent for both of the tributes, one during the logo and the other when Shuri was on the beach. You could really feel that the actors are mourning the loss of Chadwick so their performances are so genuine. This whole movie was a love letter to him and it was very respectful while letting the actors let out their emotions for what they are truly feeling with him gone. I think they did a great job and the action and set pieces were incredible as well. I just hate that they killed Queen Ramonda 😭

So all the sudden people care about the Academy to give a useless award? Pretty sure a lot people has hated and doesn't care about the Hollywood Awards. I said useless because a stupid trophy shouldn't define your success or acceptation, but an actor's skill and dedication to their craft. There have loads of actors who'll get that stupid trophy and yet, many have a hard time getting another acting gig. Or the flip will be many respectful actors who have never won those Hollywood Awards, but are still beloved though and the contributions they had made without it and still to this day. Angela for sure has made her mark as an actress, a phenomenal actress. She already has shown her acting abilities and the respect she has earned from many people.
Namor was a savage he actually got what he wanted at the end and once again another great video y'all..
@rdkirk3834
Жыл бұрын
No, he didn't get what he wanted, but he got what he could have gotten if he and Queen Ramonda and merely sat down and discussed their situation like rational leaders in the beginning. While this movie had excellent action and drama, its foundational scenario was what Roger Ebert called the "dummy plot." The basic plot depended on people acting like dummies and not talking to each other like rational human beings. Wakanda and Talokan had no natural animosity between them. Namor and Ramonda had no natural reason for personal animosity. They both, however, had exactly the same interests: To keep their nations secluded and their vibranium away from the rest of the world. Namor's insistence on killing the scientist who invented the vibranium sniffer was just plain stupid. How could he suppose the US government built the device without having the plans to build another, or that the scientist hadn't kept notes, or even that only a single scientist had devised it? That was a stupid supposition for him to make, which is why his original demand that Wakanda kill "the scientist" a stupid proposition. That both leaders were so quickly willing to expend the lives of hundreds of their subjects rather than to sit down and discuss their real national interests makes them stupid leaders. In the end, after hundreds of deaths and vast destruction, Namor came to the conclusion he and Ramona should have reached over a single pot of coffee: They had no reason for hostility and every reason to become allies against the rest of the world.

It actually puts two opposing views that of idealism like Shuri who's young, and those of Namor who's old and has seen the horrors of our past first hand. I agree with a lot of the points that you guys make! My only thing about Riri Williams as a character is that I know we're gonna get a series to flesh her out, so I'm not too upset about not learning more about her in the film. I feel like it would've bloated the movie if they had added anymore on Riri when it's wholly Shuri's story.
Saw the movie today, and I loved it. I'm Asian Canadian, and I think this is a really well-written film. I loved that each of the main characters have a purpose to the story, instead of just being brought in for fun sake. Not that I have a problem with that either, but every main character here worked. I was worried about the length of the film because people were saying it was slow, but after watching it, it honestly didn't feel that way. The pacing was great, there was no useless subplot with the except of 1 maybe. And the acting, some of the best in the MCU. Action was good, and there were some great tactics.
Angela Bassett is like Denzel, she doesn't act. She shows up and says "I'm Angela MUFIGFIN Bassett", and we see her and be like "That's Angela MUFUGGIN Bassett".

I’ll be honest though I was really hyped for it based on the trailers, part of me was still a little hesitant after the passing of Chadwick. Thankfully majority of the reviews have been very positive, can’t wait to see it Friday. I know Phase 4 has been pretty rocky for a lot of people, some hits, some misses, but at least it’s going out on a high note. (Not counting the Guardians Holiday Special)
This movie was the best movie of phase 4. The theater clapped at the end of the movie 👏
The performances really hit because you know they weren't acting when it came to the grief and loss. Namor's had those ankle wings for 80 years so they're as essential to him as Wolverine's claws. And they probably saved Riri's development for her show a year from now
yall comical😭😭 loving the energy
I finally saw it. I was crying and crying in so many scenes due to the strength of the writing and acting. It wasn't perfect (some background scenes in Wakanda didn't look as good as the first film) but over all, it was a great film and a worthy sequel. Angela Basset was INCREDIBLE.
I'd like to see a spinoff of Angela Bassetts character just being a total savage who's lost everything and call it "Bassetthound"

Mannn this movie right here!! My excitement was mid and started building up as the week went on and it exceeded my expectations 💯! With the family watching it too. Can’t wait to see it again with the rest of the family. Awesome tribute and overall movie!
I still like the first one better, but this was a worthy successor. What a great movie.
This movie was so freaking beautiful. I was constantly tearing up. Definitely the best movie in this phase since No Way Home. Awesome that they started this Phase 4 with an awesome movie and ended it with an awesome movie
I already joked to my dad that they should do a black panther Kwanzaa special and my dad liked that suggestion.
I SAW THE MOVIE . I'M GOING TO EVERY REVIEW TO MAKE SURE THEY TELL THE TRUTH. IT'S AN EXCELLENT MOVIE EVERYONE SHOULD SEE. PERIOD!

Ooooooff you might wanna steer clear of critical drinkers first impressions video 😂
People don’t seem to get the concept that these are people with powers and tech. They don’t have to be the size of WWE Wrestlers on steroids.
I didn’t feel the run time here like I did in Batman. That final action sequence in Batman had you like it ain’t over yet. Here I was like man I could’ve had more. The tribute to Chadwick, Angela Bassett’s acting, the Black Panther was good, and even the directing. Only things I could’ve done without is the Midnight Angel thing and the Riri Williams. In fact I could do without that upcoming mini series. Maybe just give them a movie and move on.
When he says there's no good time to get up to use the bathroom during the movie, he's not joking. I actually had a severe allergic reaction halfway through the film and refused to get up. I left the theater all swollen and it was worth it.

When Thanos snapped, wouldn’t he have snapped Namors people? Wouldn’t Namor come up at that point to fight?

Namor was a beast. I actually thought the 3rd act was going to piss me off, but I'm good with it. Better than the 1st movie. Killing Kilmonger was stupid, and that last fight was ass.

6:30 Yeah man, the full Chadwick Bozeman marvel logo was the starter, then the funeral scene right after had me shed some tears.
I Really Do Like How Character Driven this film is and the war between Wakandans and the Submariners was very heavy and you honestly didn’t know how it was going to end.
"The subtleties speaks volumes in this movie." That's the line that captures this.
I cried during the logo hah. Man this one was awesome
Namor was the best part hands down made him a bad ass
wow that was quick we usually wait until tomorrow for the review
I do appreciate y'all review about this.
The first one was playing up the "heroic" MLK/professor X vibed Tchalla vs the "villainous" Malcolm X/Magneto vibed Killmonger. This one seems to be playing on heightened black and brown/ minorities/disenfranchised communities/people of color tug of war climate that's going on right now.
I also wish we had more time with ri ri but this movie was obviously her soft launch much like America in strange and tchalla in civil war. We were meant to only get a taste and it was enough to get me hype for her future features!
Someone better tell Korey that if his pee burns, he might want to go check that out lol
I'm VERY glad they didn't try to CGI him in. I don't care how good it looks at that point you're parading a dead man for a superhero flick.
I haven't seen it yet but I think what has impressed me right off the bat is that they dealt with and honored what Chadwick Boseman brought to that role (cause remember, he started that role before Black Panther the movie) and the fact that, in light of his illness, he fought so hard to continue to present the story. To try to shove a new T'Challa into it would have completely disrespected him, and completely turned off fans brought into the universe thanks to Boseman. To address this all in the film, which they do by addressing the death of T'Challa is if amazing. And if the accounts are correct and Shuri is the new Black Panther, that makes it even sweeter. There is so much here to dig into. Marvel seems to be leaning into the realities behind Black Panther much to their credit.

You have no clue all the things that intellectually and emotionally stimulate me. My whole point was more about Chadwick Boseman and his hard work than what you read into...oh wait, that's right. You yourself stated you didn't read it. I think you're the one who should maybe do better. But that might mean having to climb off your high horse and when you believe your own press, that can be hard to do.

Recasting another actor to play T'Challa isn't disrespecting Chadwick what so ever. That seems a rather selfish thing to say and to think when there can be loads of other actors who may had a chance to play T'Challa. Wouldn't that hinder another black actor to play T'Challa and how much a miss opportunity that any actor would have loved to tried? Would a new actor playing T'Challa be different? For sure yeah, but I'm beginning to question to if fans miss T'Challa or Chadwick? There's a huge difference. Besides that, there have many times in film history where the original actor died from unfortunate circumstances, but there has been many times of a recast though. William Hurt, a respected and beloved actor, died, but Harrison Ford has been cast to play the character though. So....is that disrespecting William Hurt or.....? It shouldn't and I have yet to hear anyone really say oh it's disrespecting William Hurt.
Bruh.. ask yourself. How much would MY woman change her hair....if she was a PRINCESS??? Yeah. alot.
the reason why i think his motivations were weird were bcs Namor was always in the comics portrayed as ruled by his erratic emotions this was bcs they retconned him being a villain into an anti hero this caused the earlier versions of him to be villainous later heroic but i thought they struck a balance
I love this movie so much and I want to see it again. It's in my top 5 superhero movies. It's such a character driven movie that you just felt the grief the characters were feeling. Huge props to Letitia Wright for going from supporting player to being the center of this movie under horrible circumstances and handling it with grace. You really felt his presence and the impact he made on everyone on the set. It felt real with how they handle his death. A movie that's celebrate the strength of black woman. The women handle things in this movie without ever overdoing it like a lesser director would have. Namor should come back cause he's so good and you understand what he wanted and you were on his side for the most part
