Annoying Modern Movie Trailer Tropes

Almost every modern movie trailer follows the same formula and it's getting old! Repeating a popular song refrain from an old band. Repurposing a classic theme song in a slower way. Showing way too much of the movies plot. Giving away spoilers before the movie is even out! The people that cover these trailers are no better! I rant about modern movie trailers and suggestions studios can take to fix them in this video.

I laughed at the rap music part, it's so true.
I am so glad you mentioned music. I have particularly found music in trailers and tv spots for movies very annoying over the years. I also hate when they use one monotonous sound effect over and over again to try and build tension. It only builds tension in the headache that I get. Just saw an ad on TV for John Wick 4 and they used a ringing bell every time a review quote came up. Ok, I get it.
Everything I hate about modern trailers summed up beautifully in a 10 minute video 👌
My biggest trailer gripe is when they splice together a bunch of lines from different parts of the movie to make a sentence.
You’re spot on. The slow modified score always makes me do an eye roll
Agreed. I hate when trailers spoil too much. Like...why watch the movie at this point?!
I actually try to avoid trailers after the first one so I am not overly spoiled. I've found that I've enjoyed movies when I go in blind.
Really glad Hello Fresh sponsored you. Really enjoy your content. Most other movie and tv reviewers have largely sold out and refuse to talk about anything negative regarding their favorite brand.
Adams videos are really starting to stick with me… The other day I was playing with my dog I kind of tug-of-war game, and I told her oh, you’re such a good strong girl, and then I found myself saying, “You’re such a stroooong femaaaaale leeeeead!!!!” Then I added:”….and it’s about time!”😂😂😂
Trailers pretty much spoil the movie before it comes out because of how awfully predictable modern movies are.
I miss the voice overs in trailers.
this rant was spot on! (as usual, coz Adam always gets it!)
The biggest criticism I have of modern trailers is that they tend to be a random assortment of "trailer shots", meaningless lofty-sounding cliché dialogue, with a joke or two.
Sheila's back baby! And she brought sponsorship with her. Strooong Femaaaale Assissstant!
This was cathartic! Everything you said was spot on.
I hate modern trailers because they show you all of the movie and now they’re even showing surprise characters. For the last couple years I only see the teaser and probably the first trailer because by the third you’ve seen the whole movie.
Me too regarding seeing movie 🎥 trailers back in “the day”…I hated missing any, and I DO remember when there was a buzz when you heard a certain trailer would be exclusively showing before a certain movie…was awesome!
Can someone more talented than me please edit Adams impressions into the actual trailers 😂
Agreed about exclusive trailers at the cinema. Seems so obvious
Coming back here after seeing the Blue Beetle trailer. Almost word for word how you described it 😂
