Former line cook here. The amount of detail in this movie made me feel like I was back in the kitchen, shooting the shit with my guys while we took on the entire world.

The detail is totally accurate, probably because Roy Choi, the culinary consultant for the film, made sure Favreau basically went through chef boot camp before he let him shoot the film, and it makes me want to get back into a professional kitchen despite all the reasons I stopped working in them.

@@theGoogol Current Chef here: A lot of people have no idea what kind of operation takes place to make a busy night work. The planning, preparing, ordering and every man/woman knowing their station and working together to make the orders come together just right. It's truly a talented and challenging occupation.

@@itzamia : I have a clue ... this movie added to that knowledge. I do know that you can taste the effort and love but also the stress. I think the movie depicts reality well. Apart from the reality of mise en place (edit : and pfff ... all you said, really). edit : I only have a clue, lol ... only worked in a real kitchen once, doing dishes and I ran out after a day, basically.

I randomly stumbled upon this on netflix. Its a masterpiece that makes you feel good after watching it. The pnky bad thing I can say to this is it made me want to eat Cuban cuisine but we dont have those in the far east.

I was pleasantly surprised with this movie. It was a nice Sunday watch.

I can't wait to see it! If only Thanos had been the restaurant owner, it would be perfect. "The restaurant required correction" "Fine, I'll do it myself" "You could not live with your own failure, and where did that bring you?" "The hardest menu choices require the strongest wills"

WE NEED MORE FILMS LIKE THIS.

A gem of a film with a superb cast and soundtrack. Cinematography is good too. Favreau certainly knows the benefits of shooting anamorphic. No weird colour grading - just sunlit, bright colours makes you want to book the next flight out to Miami or Cuba and if the soundtrack doesn't get your feet tapping then nothing will.

I ADORE this movie. Message to you Ruuuudyyyy
