Once again you don't need NFT's to share Minecraft seeds, this is something that was always given out freely before. There are plenty of websites that share seeds without NFT's and if you join any server you can view the seed with the console and write it down (essentially the same as right click saving). This is the very definition of a scam, a middle man, conning people out of money and harming the environment with the energy it takes to mint them.

I want it to be a fun entertainment product with no strings attached that exploit customer, ergo me. What they are essentially trying to do is corporationize a video game to the point it's no longer a video game. This entire thing falls flat on it's head the moment they mention shareholder value and profit margins for selling essentially useless crap to customers that also seek to profit from it in the future, ergo pyramid scheme. The more people you invite in the driven market, the better it is for all the key players that were there from the beginning. That's web3 in a nutshell. Companies do everything for profit. What we can hope for normally is a mutual interest, ie the gaming company produces a game we want (BOTW, Elden Ring, etc) and we pay for it because it's worth it. Corporation gets money, fans get game, win-win. The problem is manipulative practices where corporations figured out how to get money from us without giving us anything we actually want. Such as loot boxes and P2W -- psychologically addicting but leads to an objectively worse gaming experience for everyone. The reason why we're in microtransaction heII is because too many people were willing to pay them. The only way we can escape NFT heII is by rewarding companies that don't do the NFT scam, ie by playing their games instead.

There's nothing wrong with the tech itself, the problem is a bunch of opportunists and bad actors misusing it just like what happened with web1 and web2 back in the day (dotcom bubble anybody?). Don't get me wrong, these guys are bad actors and opportunists at best, just like 99% of these NFT assholes, but that has nothing to do with the tech itself. Money isn't good or bad on its own, its the person using it that determines that. I just wonder, why can't someone come around to use NFT tech in a better way for games, like no MTX bullshit, no Metaverse trash, no scarcity and collection tripe, just 1 single NFT that is literally just your access ticket to a normal, traditional, single-player, story-based game, with its files/installer hosted on distributed IPFS. This would be a much better use of the tech and would also be an improvement on the current web2 setup as you would actually own your copy of the game, you can always access it even after the dev/pub goes under and you can even sell the game 2nd hand by just selling the NFT.

Hell I’d say most hate NFT bros wayyy more than drug users (like myself a recovering opioid addict) cause drug users don’t bother anyone and do their own thing, often times saying NOT to do drugs, while NFT bros constantly spew their bullshit on everyone. *like im genuinely ecstatic about this news and everything that screws over NFT bros. like I fucking hate the concept of hoarding money, and all of these rich assholes are also the type to hoard money, while also spending it on stupid bullshit like NFTs* while refusing to help even a bigger on the street by getting them 5$ meal at McDonald’s telling them to work if they want food. Like we have godlike technology but our society is fucking medieval still man. Food, Water, AND SHELTER should be a human right. There’s absolutely zero reason for there to be so many homeless people when we have the resources to make stupid bull shit like a rich person owning five different mansions for no fucking reason, when even just one of those huge mansions could house so many people within their own room. Let alone having roommates which would house even more. yea I just fucking hate money in general lol, I’ve never had much of it, and likely never will due to being disabled. *Like is it really so much to ask just to be able to live in a safe & clean shelter? Apparently it is, even though we essentially have a robot taking pictures from the surface of Mars, a task that is astronomically difficult. But we still have millions upon millions of homeless people. Our civilization is fucking pathetic man. Unbelievable.*

It's extremely ironic when not only Mojang (which should be expected, being the creatives) but also MICROSOFT, of all major corporations, AGREED to NOT go along with this crypto-nonsense, and those NFT-bros claim to be the ones who stand for creativity and "the spirit of Minecraft" and things like that. - They're blatantly trying to switch things around, or they're just that ignorant about themselves. - Sure, Microsoft does it because, not only do they realize it's risky at this point to just expose Minecraft, which is doing so well for them, to such business, especially since it's an all-ages/audiences type of product and could get a LOT of backlash and bad press if things would go wrong with children getting involved, but also because making a stance against this would generate positive PR (even if it's like a marketing-stunt, it's fair enough, at least it's a good stance to have). - But still, their people aren't stupid and they definitely have people who care about their products. I don't think their investors mind if they just avoid the risk and hassle in case things go wrong, especially on one of their biggest products. - But I do have to wonder if it was an easy agreement or if say Mojang's people really cut it off at the head and basically campaigned for this internally as they probably saw what was going on with all the NFT-stuff and where it could be headed.

Thing is, if they make their own platform, they won't even NEED NFTs. It sounds like they were just using NFTs to make an exclusive club off of a game platform (Minecraft) that has no club. Minecraft just has loose servers. Server 1 and Server 2 don't share currency. There's no Server 0 that links those two servers, either. These guys were probably using NFTs to make a Server 0 that links to Servers 1-200 (who bought a seed from Server 0, a membership card basically), and Servers 1-200 all share currency. You can earn on Server 132 and spend it on Server 46. That's unique! Did they find a way to do that on Minecraft? Sounds like. But if they get kicked off Minecraft and make their own gaming hub with their own game??? THEY DON'T NEED NFTS, THEY LITERALLY CONTROL EVERYTHING THEN! JUST SELL SUBSCRIPTIONS LIKE AN MMORPG OR WHATEVER!

One aspect that I'd like to see from web3 would be actual decentralization and ownership of ones own creative property. Current implementation of DRM give power monopolies in company created and controlled eco systems.

So, let me get this straight: NFT Worlds is piggybacking off of Minecraft and make their money by selling NFTs related to Minecraft. Microsoft banned NFTs in Minecraft because they don't approve of it and now NFT Worlds are gonna make their own version of Minecraft but with NFTs? Yeah, that's for sure gonna work and definetly not end in a court case LMAO
